YO HO AND AHOY EVERYONE! This post is our catchall gathering place for all new and old players to meet and greet. Introduce yourself and the character you're bringing in, giving us whatever info you feel comfortable with! Don't forget to join the Discord server if you haven't already! The invite code will be in the app notice.

The CR Workship is also available for you to post into or check out and try to plot with others on there. Be sure to read our recent Captain's Log for any important announcements, and hop into our Maiden Voyage opening log! The Quest Board can also be found there.

YO HO EVERYONE!! I already did my official greeting in the mod notes, but I'll make one here, too! I'm Laena your head mod and captain of this game. Feel free to add me on laenavesse, but I have Discord, too, if you'd prefer. Or just ping me in the server, that works, too.

The first character I'm bringing is Cidolfus Telamon (ramuhs), better known as Cid, from Final Fantasy XVI. He may be the outlaw leader of some rebels to overthrow an entire world's social system, but he's also the easygoing, friendly, older dad and mentor figure who will crack a few a jokes and share his worldly wisdom when needed. He is also the Ramuh Dominant, which means he can harness and turn into the almighty Ramuh and wield lightning magic. ...Except in Escordvi, he's going to be a bit... tiny at first (and still be a menace). Anyway, all his info is in his journal, just beware of game spoilers! I'll mark for anything spoilery, though I usually try to avoid those with non-castmate threads!

Also if anyone ever tries to summon Ramuh, there is an option to have Cid appear instead. He will not be pleased—but also may be amused, depends what happens.

Second up is Eustace (flamekthunder) from Granblue Fantasy. He's an Erune, which means while he might not have a tail, those wolf-like ears (yes, wolf not cat!!) are real! But no touchy unless granted permission (which means try it, anyway—). He's the complete opposite of Cid where he's much more stoic and reticent, preferring to be on his own and in quiet places. An elite soldier of his own class, he wields a rifle called Flamek Thunder that shoots lightning (yes I have two lightning users hahaha). But he does have a softer side, especially around dogs. In fact, he's bringing his dog Valo with him! ...Who may or may not be learning how to "fetch" things, much to Eustace's dismay.

They are both part of the Corsair armada, with Cid being natural and Eustace having mixed feelings, but he'll just take the "adventuring mercenary" route.

Hello everyone!!! I'm Sheila, the game's resident list mod, and I am here with Benedikta Harman from Final Fantasy XVI and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy VII (Remake flavour)!

🍃 Benedikta is first and foremost the Dominant of Garuda, Warden of the Wind, which means that she can transform into giant wind harpy kaiju! And she is also the commander of Waloed's Elite Intelligencers. She's a cutthroat woman, an excellent spy, a seductress, and uses whatever tools she has to get what she wants when she wants it, everyone else be damned. She'll be joining the Corsairs, so you better watch out! However, there's much more to her than meets the eye, and you shouldn't judge a book by its cover...

Because FFXVI is fairly new, and the game as well as her backstory deal with some pretty heavy themes, I have an opt-out post here. If you would like to avoid spoilers, any heavy subjects, or Benedikta in general, please fill it out!

🌠 And now for Tifa who is on the other side of the spectrum! She is about as Mom Friend as they get. She is kind, empathetic, patient, and is always looking out for others. But while she might seem like a social butterfly, she is much more reserved and shy than she appears, and keeps her emotions close. Deep down, she is defined by her grief and is incredibly self-critical, and takes on way too much at once. So please, someone remind her that it's okay for her to rely on others! Also, she'll be chilling with the Paladins and just trying to make life easier for everyone regardless of who they are!

Hello everyone!

My name is Xae, and today I'll be bringing you two young women. Nimona from Nimona will be joining everyone among the Paladins, and Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria is here to be the terrible influence among the Corsairs. Feel free to add me over on Tsukeru, and I'll be in the game discord!

Nimona pinksidekicking is a shapeshifter and the only one of her kind in the world, so that means people tend to view her as a monster. She lives in a kingdom with knights, but there's plenty of tech to go around. Enough about that, Nimona is a thousand-year-old being, who is sick of being thought of as a monster - it's become something of a trigger for her. So she decides that she's going to be a villain's sidekick, to bring down the "system". On the exterior, she has a rough, gremlin attitude that loves mayhem and chaos, but deep down, she is a severely depressed individual that may have suicidal tendencies that I will always mark for! So I'm looking forward to people accepting who she is. Oh, Nimona generally takes the shape of a girl, but is honestly perfectly fine in a male form.

Note: Nimona can take the shape of any person she has seen before. I will usually leave this open for you all to decide if she looks like your character.

Velvet Crowe lordofcalamity is a creature known as a daemon (specifically a therion), which is basically someone/thing corrupted by Malevolence (dark emotions). She is violent, angry, and out for revenge on someone that isn't here, so she'll likely be a little pissed off about that for a while most of the time. She prefers like-minded individuals aka those who do what they want, without getting in her way too much, but does have a soft spot that you might need to squint in order to see at first. Uh, chances are good that Velvet (and probably Eizen) will be attempting to steal a ship for themselves in the future. So they will be looking for a third Corsair to join them eventually.

Hello everyone, I'm Megan and I am coming into the game with Roxas from Kingdom Hearts.

Roxas is the Nobody of the series protagonist, Sora. He's kinda gone through it in the narrative with people wanting to use him for various nefarious purposes and a general wondering of if he's even allowed to exist. Spoilers, he is! It took a lot of work and now he's got a new lease on life and a chance to do things for himself for once. Of course, his plans included hanging out with his friends and eating ice cream and not...this. Oh well. He's an older muse of mine and I'm still waking him up so he's a bit cranky but we'll make do.

He's a bit of a scrappy kid but he tries his best and hopefully we'll get him to have some fun. Sora's the pirate guy, not him. But also he's cooler than Sora. He'll be a Paladin.

As for me, again I'm Megan. I like anime, JRPGs and Actual Play Podcasts (Dimension 20 and Friends at the Table are particular faves right now). I live in backlog hell and am steadily making my through piles of things. I can be found at urbaninja or PM for plotting and that's the best place to get a hold of me.

I'm Squid, and I have one asshole drow mercenary, Jarlaxle from Forgotten Realms, coming in as a Corsair. My plurk is squiddly, feel free to add me on there!

Jarlaxle is the captain of Bregan D'aerthe, a male dominated mercenary group in the otherwise matriarchal drow city of Menzoberranzan. He's to an extent your typical charming rogue character with questionable morals, he's also a shameless flirt, and just shameless in general. He's very much a "possession is 9/10ths of the law" kind of character so keep an eye on your valuables, if he likes 'em he might wanna 'borrow' 'em. While he's considered to be one of the more dangerous denizens of Menzoberranzan, he's a very pragmatic kind of guy and would just as soon prefer to forge alliances and minimize unnecessary damage than anything else. He's not really one for wanton murder and throat slitting. He's also very invested in his own entertainment, so you got a 50/50 shot of a choice he makes being made in the interest of the best outcome for himself, or being made in the interest of what's the funniest thing he can do in this present moment.

His current item list is in the first comment here, suitably trimmed down because as the journal name implies, he's a fucking cheater and should by rights have no access to a majority of his stupid bullshit.

Hiya! I'm Zoki and it's been a while since I've played in a game, and with a character who's brand-new for me! But as soon as I saw the premise I knew what needed to be done.

I bring Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2! She's an extremely enthusiastic and bubbly teenager with previous pirate-adjacent experience, so she hopes to find her positive happy niche among the Corsairs! The main thrust of her story here is finding out who she wants to be and what her place in the world is...all that freedom's a little scary when she thinks about it too hard. But that's okay!

Hello friends! I'm Starfighter and it's been a few hot minutes since I've been in a game. I played Ashi in Noctium though so you might remember me from there. Or elsewhere with other characters, haha.

Ashi hails from Season 5 of Samurai Jack and is the deuteragonist for the season. She begins the series as one of seven assassins (and sisters) called the Daughters of Aku, bred and raised to kill Jack, to becoming Jack's closest ally by the end of the series.

She's also literally a daughter of Aku, born after her High Priestess mother consumed Aku's essence. Being a half-human half-demon gives her a few unusual powers you can find on her wiki page. Powers aside Ashi just wants to do good in the world while she also learns about it. There's a whole lot she doesn't know and she loves hearing stories from others about their lives (and worlds now) so please tell her all about yourself!

Ky Kiske, from the Guilty Gear series, is the First King of the United Kingdom of Illyria, and a family man through and through. A genuine sweetheart, he tries to be the best person he can be without fail, preferring to settle scores with diplomacy than violence. But he’s not afraid of questioning and interrogation, having spent time with anime Interpol. He’s also a war child- having become a willing child soldier at 10 and has a reputation of being a prodigy swordsman and magic practitioner- and a brutally efficient murderer at that. It’s best not to underestimate Ky- he knows he’s got the skills to back up his threats.

Ky’s got most of his powers (gear super strength/speed/reaction time and (sadly limited to) lightning magic) with him, and has Thunderseal (which amplifies lightning magic) so he’s most likely going to be a magnet without proper limits lmao. Feel free to literally stick to Ky.

Hello all! I'm Rook and I'm bringing you Alucard Emery, from the book series known as Shades of Magic.

Alucard is a charmer, privateer, and a sorcerer ( he'd say 'magician' ) with the unique ability to be able to see magic. I have his magic sight permissions up already, so I would really appreciate it if everyone who would like to meet him would take some time to fill that out as much or as little as you want.

What else can I say about him? Well, if you're familiar with Avatar: The Last Airbender, you basically know what he can do. Since he's a special boy, he can basically wield everything but fire. He is also very good at being a showman and looking shady. Nevertheless, he is a Paladin.

As for me, I am just some nerd who loves D&D (actual plays, specifically Dimension 20), television shows, some anime/manga, and a few video games. I do play FFXIV, for anyone who can stomach a filthy cosplaying weeb in their party. I can be found on plurk at rookadoodle where I don't post much besides silly things and pictures of my pets. Now that I'm in this game, I should be mostly posting about it! I will definitely keep an eye out for your plurks! Looking forward to shenanigans!

Hi all!!! I'm Jans and I'm playing Xenk Yendar from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves aka: the DND movie! I'm PST and tag in the evenings, whenever I'm not playing Baldur's Gate 3.

Xenk, is uh... I'm gonna say this a lot, but he's the most Paladin paladin to have ever paladin'd. He's dashing, handsome, talented... He's justice! He's valor! He's compassion! He saves drowning babies from fish monsters and gives alms to the poor and downtrodden and he looks so valorous and attractive while he does it. He'd be a very serious guy in another movie, but in this one he's a boy scout and a joke and also he doesn't get jokes:


He's also uh, partially undead but don't worry about it! He'll fess up to that almost instantly and it won't come up at all except for whenever he talks about being a century old and having old Knowledge. If your character can Detect Evil and Good, they'd be very confused by him. He can also Detect Evil and Good, so let me know if you want him to get vibes from your characters, because that would be fun!

Needless to say, Xenk is in the Paladin Armada and is most likely to be the guy who makes sure everyone shows up to roll call on time and sticks to the rules. Despite being a stick in the mud, he actually really enjoys hanging out with roguish types and believing in them, urging them to do good and embrace their compassion and be better people. So if that's an arc you're interested in, boy does Xenk want your character to get there too! And if you're looking for a narc, he's your guy as well! Xenk does have some depth to him, but he's happiest when things are black and white and he can punish bad guys with the power of Justice. What a guy to put in a pirate game.

Hello everyone! My name is Olga and with me I bring an addition to the Corsairs, Eizen from Tales of Berseria.

Eizen is the first mate of a pirate crew back home so he's pretty in his element here. He's also what's known as a malak, which is essentially an earth spirit. Normal people usually wouldn't be able to see him but canon events made that possible so I'm carrying that over here to keep things simple. Eizen is an intimidating looking guy who stands at 6'1" and is as confident as you get. Getting his hands dirty or breaking a few arms when the situation calls for it isn't beyond him. In addition, he's afflicted with something called the Reaper's Curse. This makes him about as unlucky as unlucky can get and affects those around him, too. He's also a complete and utter nerd underneath it all. Art, treasure, ancient pottery: he's fascinated by it all. Anyone want a 3 hour lecture on the history of ships and ship building? Cause Eizen'll happily oblige. Oh and him and Velvet sound like they may be gearing up to steal a ship soon if anyone else wants in on joining that.

Hello everybody! I am Leo(Leicon) and I'm bringing in two characters with me-

Reaper(gr1m) from Overwatch who will be part of the Corsair and making that everyone else's problem simply because that is how the man roles. He will of course work with those he sees as useful and can make himself just as useful here and there, but isn't above being an asshole when he gets it in turn. Easily coming off as stand-offish or simply a tall looming shadow-wraith-thing if he's being dramatic about something.

I also bring you Professor Turo of Pokémon Violet! He's amongst the Paladin, and really just wants to help. He is a scientist and something of a pokémon professor that is more than meets the eye- but that can come when someone gets to know him better. Friendly, a bit of a nerd, and ready to set off on his own adventure even if he's a bit overwhelmed.

Yo ho ho! Hey everyone! I know. Actually prob quite a few of you from my prior Song days lol. But this is Caprica, and I decided to give this a try with one Sorey from Tales of Zestiria. He is the most sheltered and clueless and reckless/selfless people ever basically. That is part of why he takes on the role of the Shepherd back home (basically, he takes the responsibility/duty to help cleanse the world from Malevolence - like bad/dark vibes/emotions that can mess with people over time.) because he tends to take on too much in wanting to help and will likely push himself while here too (esp without his water buddy bff Mikleo).

He has been raised in a teeny village called Elysia as the only mortal/human there raised by seraphim (or malakhim going by Berseria timelines, basically elemental spirits sort of deal). This is why he has such a high resonance or spiritual sense, and why he is able to take on the role of the Shepherd to work with the seraphim and act as sort of an in between in relations between them and the humans in helping deal with the Malevolence. He is going to find all this very interesting and be All Over the idea of exploring/finding treasure/ruins and learning about this place and the history. He is a History Nerd. And loves goblin carts. I'm sure he will also love boats too.

Here in Escordvi, he is in the Paladin armada. He will also apparently keep the ability to Armatize (basically think ala Dragonball fusion) with the seraphim/malakhim here (with player permission of course!) and also keep his resonance so that might help him pick up on some thing others might miss??

Uh. what else. I'm a Kiwi so odd timezones ahoy. I'm also gonna initially be slow because lol my timing in being sick is the Worst (I lasted three years as a teacher without getting Covid! Somehow. Hello everyone! I'm Rema (baldurian) and I'll be playing Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3. BG3 is a new(ish) canon and Astarion's story deals with some heavy topics, so if you'd like to opt out for any reason at all, feel free to comment here.

Astarion is a competent rogue (12th level, for all my fellow tabletop nerds) who also happens to be a vampire spawn. He can walk in the light thanks to a mind flayer's tadpole, and he's trying to make the most of that while he can. He still needs to drink blood which is a little problematic but on the plus side, you won't have to buy one of those mechanical cats to kill all the rats on your ship if you bring him along! Astarion can be flirty but also temperamental and quick to judge. His mood and attitude change a lot based on his approval of other people. If he's prickly at first, it's probably his fault! Think of him like dealing with a cat. Sometimes it has to be his idea to start an interaction.

Surprising no one, Astarion is a corsair. He can certainly help teach anyone the tricks of the trade! He's quick and stealthy and very good at stealing things. He's also not afraid to use his body to get what he wants.

Feel free to add me on plurk for plotting or chatting. I used to dwrp several years ago but kind of fell out of and I'm getting back into it thanks to this lovely setting. I mostly just plurk about how much I love Astarion but I promise I have other interests outside of BG3, probably. I like to DM tabletop games (running a Curse of Strahd campaign presently, a true classic), I read a lot, I'm presently obsessed with Lego, and I have been known to play ffxiv.

I'm Blueraven (you might know me already as Sam, it's been a hot minute since I did the game thing) and I'm bringing in Miriam from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which is basically a Castlevania game with a single serial number filed off. (tl;dr it's Iga's "fuck you Konami I'm crowdfunding my own Castlevania game" game)



It's not subtle, lmao.

Miriam's too nice to throw wineglasses at someone though (if someone deserves it that much she'd use fireballs). She's an orphan with Trauma, not an asshole. She fits neatly into the spirit of the Paladin role if not the letter, championing the downtrodden even if it brings her into conflict with authority. Miriam tries her best to be one of the good things in a world that too often doesn't have many in it, whether that's by fighting monsters others can't or helping victims of disaster feel a sense of normalcy again.

She just has this fun rose-shaped curse thing stuck to her that lets her use Phenomenal Demonic Powers in exchange for, uh, slowly turning her into a crystal fountain ornament. She has no hangups or unaddressed baggage about this whatsoever, don't be silly. Or any about that time her childhood friend died in front of her and she felt complicit in his death or when her adopted grandpa did the same and she didn't allow herself time to grieve. She's just going to paper that over and be as helpful to others as she can until she collapses in a breakdown or her curse overloads its sealing glyphs and kills her. It's fine!

Hello everyone! I'm CS, resident App Mod and Rewards Generator, and I am here bringing two characters into the fray: Nanaki aka Red XIII (feralhumanity) from Final Fantasy VII and Lyney (spectacleofphantasmagoria) from Genshin Impact!

Nanaki is going to be joining the Paladins for his time here! He's a cat/dog/wolf/lab rat/SOMETHING from Cosmo Canyon, who looks like a wild animal but actually can talk and reason on the same level as humans. He might look rough and might make quips about two-legged things he thinks are stupid, but he's quite nice once you get to know him. And if you worm your way onto his Friends List he might even let you give him a scritchy behind the ears 👀

I should make a note that Nanaki here is from the Original Continuity, and is taken post-Advent Children! However I might make use of some stuff from the Remake if it helps to flesh out some of his Hidden Lore that wasn't really touched on in the OG timeline (and also for icons because come on look at that HD glowup--)

Lyney, on the other hand, is going to be joining the Corsairs! A famous magician from the Court of Fontaine, Lyney has a gift of gab and a showman's personality. He's flamboyant, flirtatious, easy to talk to, dramatic a f, and totally not hiding a secret tragic backstory ha ha ha what would give you that idea he's just a silly little magician man--

Either way, Lyney will 1000% be doing little parlour tricks wherever he can, rizzing up both Paladin and Corsair alike, and getting his name around as an entertainer first and a pirate second. Who knows? Maybe he'll even have his own theatre ship one day...

Hello all! I'm Bryo and I'm here playing Faris Scherwiz from Final Fantasy V. You can find me in the game discord or on plurk @ compassinks - feel free to add me there!

Faris is a pirate captain back home. He joined the story when the party decided they were going to steal his ship to get around, and since one of them was a princess, that made for a great ransom opportunity... up until the princess showed the same exact pendant that Faris had for years, and then he decided to help them so he could find out about his past. That past turned out to be that he was a princess 15 years ago who was lost at sea, raised as a man, and forgot pretty much everything about the royal life. Thanks to some crystal-powered dressup, Faris became one of the Light Warriors on a mission to try and save the world (it usually went badly). Along the way she reconnected with her long-lost sister, suffered a lot of loss, and actually became kind of altruistic, not that she will ever admit that.

Despite having a couple of goes at being a princess and/or a full-time woman, Faris went back to being a pirate and also a man (during the game, Faris habitually switches between the male and female forms of words to refer to himself, so I have that happen in his internal narration as well. Mostly it's male except for when he's experiencing a feeling that men are taught Isn't Manly; FFV's pirates are neither progressive nor emotionally intelligent).

I'm really excited about this game because although Faris has been my favorite FF character for over a decade and a half, it's hard to find a DWRP setting that's suitable for a swashbuckling pirate with a prickly temper and a penchant for physically fleeing her own emotions. I am looking forward to getting up to NO GOOD with everyone! :3

As someone who is a huge FF fan and brought TWO FF characters into this game, I am so happy to see Faris. What a wonderful and suiting character for this game! I was hoping that a lot of final fantasy characters would appear on the TDM and you made that dream come true with such a rare one!! I hope you have so much fun here and we have to get cr soon! <3

Ahoy matey, avast ye!

Hi hi, I'm Nat. You can find me on discord at Ammeschan or on plurk also at Ammeschan. On my plurk you will find probably critiques of each anime season as I watch a ton of shows each season. This year it's been roughly 40 apiece and we still have fall to go. Also there will be screaming about Jujutsu Kaisen every week on Thursday until the end of season two, ha - and some screaming about Noragami once a month.

I am bringing in two guys. First we have Dion Lesage from Final Fantasy XVI. The Dominant of Bahamut and a guy who's honestly kind of an uptight wet blanket, he's the only one in the cast to take up the Paladin banner. He's a wielder of light and a dragoon - but he's never tanked the floor, thank you very much. He's a bit awkward and not the least bit casual. It's going to take time to get those defenses down and maybe get him to relax.

I'm on board for the idea that someone attempting to summon Bahamut could find themselves with tiny Dion Bahamut instead, if they were so inclined.

The second we have Toge Inumaki from Jujutsu Kaisen. A playful little trickster, due to the nature of his powers - namely cursed speech - Toge can't speak in a normal fashion. He uses a rice ball cipher to get his ideas across through tone and body language. His cursed speech compels people to do as he says at great cost to himself so he's very careful to regulate that. Outside of that he enjoys cooking and gardening and he's going to revel in the freedom he gets here that he just doesn't have at home or at school. That's what makes him a Corsair. It's not about what word he says, but what he means.

(It's okay, as a back up he's got his shellphone which has text to speech enabled, but that's really a last resort for him.)

Hi there, everybody. I'm Rose and I may be familiar to some of you! To the others, hello. I'm bringing in Ashe from Final Fantasy XII, that game that's basically Star Wars but replace the space stuff with flowery, over-formal dialogue.

Ashe is a Corsair, and she's one of the game's main protagonists. She's the Princess of Dalmasca, but she won't ever really talk about that and she's spent several years fighting in an underground resistance cell against an imperial power. A bit like Leia, only she's the one with the weird wizard powers. She's a mage and an armored fighter type, and she's...nice. Ish. She's been through a lot, like being widowed basically on her wedding night, and things haven't gotten much better since. Still, she's a stalwart person, and she is amiable, loyal, and kind. She just doesn't smile a lot, and she doesn't really know how to loosen up.

All these phenominally cosmic-powered blorbos... and then I bring THIS blorbo who's from a cooking slice-of-life. Specifically, she's the daughter of a chef who can't cook for herself due to a fear of knives, and she ends up helping her recently widowed teacher and his preschool daughter how to cook so they have good food to eat and feel less lonely. She's a sweetheart who's VERY overwhelmed by being isekai'd, and is more than a little squeamish, but feed her, cook with her, or just talk food with her and you'll have a good friend. Putting her in Paladin since she's too much of a cinnamon roll for the Corsairs, and hoping to get her a bit out of her shell, and eventually more confident in cooking, potion making, and maybe some magic.

Clive is former nobility and has the ability to control the Dominant of Fire Ifrit, but that doesn't mean he's hot-headed (most of the time)! He will be settling in nicely with the Corsairs, so I'm excited to play with everyone!

Hello, all! I'm Christine, and while I already know a good number of you, I do see some new faces out there which is pretty exciting! I'm bringing in Balthier from Final Fantasy XII, because there was absolutely no chance of me bringing anyone else to a game featuring pirates before him.

Balthier is a dashing sky pirate from Ivalice with a reputation the world over for being the bravest pilot around in addition to being the charming sort, despite the large price on his head. More recently, he's gotten himself a bit tangled in the political side of things and wound up playing a major role in the liberation of the kingdom of Dalmasca, so he's going to be itching to get some proper pirating done here. While he prefers the sky to the sea, his love for exploration, adventure and treasure will certainly assuage him before long, and naturally, he'll be among the Corsairs.

She's an excitable amnesiac with ice powers who thrives on cute shit, photography, and new adventures. Back in her own canon she's part of a crew that goes from world to world in the name of ~trailblazing~, so getting to do more of the same here is something she's really looking forward to.
