YO HO AND AHOY EVERYONE! This post is our catchall gathering place for all new and old players to meet and greet. Introduce yourself and the character you're bringing in, giving us whatever info you feel comfortable with! Don't forget to join the Discord server if you haven't already! Hello all! I'm Rook and I'm bringing you Alucard Emery, from the book series known as Shades of Magic.

Alucard is a charmer, privateer, and a sorcerer ( he'd say 'magician' ) with the unique ability to be able to see magic. I have his magic sight permissions up already, so I would really appreciate it if everyone who would like to meet him would take some time to fill that out as much or as little as you want.

What else can I say about him? Well, if you're familiar with Avatar: The Last Airbender, you basically know what he can do. Since he's a special boy, he can basically wield everything but fire. He is also very good at being a showman and looking shady. Nevertheless, he is a Paladin.

As for me, I am just some nerd who loves D&D (actual plays, specifically Dimension 20), television shows, some anime/manga, and a few video games. I do play FFXIV, for anyone who can stomach a filthy cosplaying weeb in their party. I can be found on plurk at rookadoodle where I don't post much besides silly things and pictures of my pets. Now that I'm in this game, I should be mostly posting about it! I will definitely keep an eye out for your plurks! Looking forward to shenanigans!

I just finished rereading the books, and may have already started working on Lila's app for next round (if I can juggle two in the meantime). New book soon! In the meantime, I'm going to continue harassing him with Nimona and maybe Velvet too.

SO PUMPED FOR THREADS OF POWER what favor is Maris calling in from Lila? Who are these new characters? The early reviews are good even though I think V.S. might be ascending from anxiety lol

My power level is over 9000! But honestly, Nimona is the energetic one - Velvet is calm (when not enraged), and Lila is sort of in the middle. So it feels balanced.

MOAR OF MY FAVORITE FOUR that's what I care about most. I can't wait to see what hell is going to happen in Grey London next. We've already had main climaxes in 2 out of 4 worlds. Poor V.S.

HELLO ROOK MY FRIEND Welcome to the game! It's Mich and I'll be playing Zack from FF7 & Joshua from FF16.

It's been a hot minute since we shared a game together and I'm so excited! I was so pleasantly surprised to see you pop up and I hope you enjoy the game! I'm unfamiliar with Shades of Magic but HOLY SHIT book characters are THE BEST and I was thinking about bringing a book character I love because of you- we'll see!

You were such a wonderful presence on the TDM and Alucard seems wonderful and interesting to tag I can't wait for more! enjoy!

Yooooo thank you! I was very tickled when I first saw Zack's tag, thinking the same thing.

This is actually the first book character I've played with any degree of seriousness. When the pirate game TDM announcement went up, I had just finished re-reading the series in preparation for a new book set in the same universe to come out. So it was very much a "I have just the right man for the job if I can canon review specifically for him..." sort of moment and man, you should see how many tabs are hanging out of those books right now hahaha! It's definitely different from what I'm used to. I say go for it! If I can be nosy, which book character is it?

I will definitely make Alucard everyone's problem in the game and invite you to do the same to him if you feel so inclined!

That's so fantastic, though. It's so rare to see book characters so to see one is just the best. I've read the entire Nightrunner series by Lynn Flewelling a billion times and have always thought I could RP one of the main characters (either Seregil or Alec, they are both spy/thieves, a high fantasy gay novel series) but was so unsure how I could do it. You've inspired me.

I can't wait for more Zack and Alucard in the meantime! Please make all the problems you can here LMAOOO

I had never heard of the Nightrunner series before! But now I will have to put it on my list bc it sounds right up my alley. And a spy sounds like someone who could have fun in this game between the faction nonsense and some of the missions!

CANON BLIND alas, but Alucard looks like a fun character so I'll have to try and see if I can have one of mine run into him sometime. They're both Corsair, but something is bound to happen lmfao.

The game is already proving to have ample opportunities for the two factions to have cross-over, so I am sure he'll be able to get into some sort of shenanigans with them at some point! I will keep an eye out for them!

Hey LWP! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you! Allura is so cute in VR. I am canon blind to your character, but she also looks very sweet. I'm sure she'd be able to goo goo eyes Alucard into giving over some of his food from the galley during a voyage or something; he is a bit of a pushover for nice teenaged girls thanks to having a beloved little sister.

It looks like he and Kotori will be on different ships, but she's been making lots of Corsair friends, so they might be able to bribe each other well with food, or just hang out... when not directly opposed with armada things.

They do have some IIRC! A million years ago, Bakugou was having a crisis (canon update coma) on the ferry and Kirishima put out a distress call. Allura sent her Altaria over to help. But something more recent? Sure!

Alucard is a Paladin! So they are on the same ship. I know. All his Corsair friends are confused too.

Oh nice! Pretty sure that was the Allura before mine, but good to know Kirishima might recognize her at least.

Ah, right, almost forgot. (Sorry, today is clearly not a high brain day.) But yes, food bribes and cross-armada friendships are still good, they can bond over this. And Kotori needs ALL the adoptions!
