CR WORKSHIP: JANUARY 2024

Our ~~CR Meme~~ CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Character: Benedikta Harman
Canon: Final Fantasy XVI, post "Wings of Change"

About: Benedikta Harman is a woman who is all about her survival and self-preservation first and foremost. Having climbed out of the depths of a cruel and terrible youth, she ascended to a place of power within the Kingdom of Waloed after being rescued, both by way of her talents in subterfuge and swordplay, and awakening as the Warden of the Wind, the Dominant of the Eikon, Garuda, which allows her to wield powerful wind magic. She is the Commander of Waloed's Elite Intelligencers, and is fiercely loyal to King Barnabas.

However, not everything is as it seems with her. She is loyal, yes, but to a fault, and is stung by the bitter bite of betrayal. She is ruthless, only cares about her own skin, and resents the world for what it has done to her. But deep down, who she really is is a woman who has looked and continues to find love and validation in all the wrong places...

In short: she's a mess. :)

Because FFXVI deals with some heavy shit, I have an opt-out for her here.

Abilities: Benedikta is a skilled spy as well as swordswoman, and being the Dominant of Garuda grants her access to power wind-based magic, as well as the ability to transform into Garuda herself.

🗡️ MAGIC: In canon, she can wield strong wind magic, such as summoning tornadoes and violent gales, and can also teleport herself and anyone else she chooses to another location. Benedikta can also summon her egis, Suparna and Chirada (wind-based elementals). In Escordvi, I'd like for her to develop at least most (if not all) of this magic through her tattoo, and she has already started practicing plenty.

🗡️ GARUDA: Being the Dominant of Garuda, she is able to take on two forms of the Eikon: semi-primed and fully primed by drawing upon her aether. When she is semi-primed, she grows a set of large feathered wings, has glowing green marks over her skin, and bright blue eyes. She is fast, agile, and powerful, and can summon claws that are large enough to tear apart buildings. When she is primed, she transforms into the much larger version of her Eikon. Under Garuda's influence, she can summon powerful, devastating wind storms. However, until she experiences a strong emotional trigger, Garuda will be taking on an itty bitty form.

General:

I do have a top level for her on the Hideaway crew log, so anyone who has CR with her or anyone on the crew who might stop by for the gathering is welcome to tag into it. Be warned: she's very grouchy about being there.
With Barnabas now out of the picture that is her life, she's trying to reconcile what it means to have freedom... and room to live for herself. Hobbies? Interests? Likes and dislikes? What are those? All things that she's having a very hard time figuring out.
She's also on a quest to find the relic that controls the rifts, and intends to use it to close them forever. No one can come or go anymore. Especially her.
There will come a day when Benedikta learns what happened to her in canon, and that will be the day she primes into Garuda's full form, so keep an eye on the horizon, and stay away from the dark clouds. I am planning on having that happen sometime HOPEFULLY before the summer, or maybe in the summer, it's just a matter of how to get there.
I still really want her to steal a ship. But who is going to do that with her now? :(
On that note, stealing a ship with someone and then marooning them on an island would be fun. So would placing a bounty on someone's head just for pissing her off, so if you want a bounty on your character, she's your gal!

MANTA Board: There isn't much I have in mind for her, but:

Event: Just tagging out for this one so please let me know if you'd like me to toss her at you! But I am totally up for plotting stuff, so here are some things I have in mind:

Snow mountain expeditions! She'd go through some ice caves, try to get the mountain crystal, fight off wildlife.
She'll be around the hot springs too, so things like fire drakes, drake eggs, and she might end up with a harem of penguins... Also she'll try to help save the tortoises.
Skipping out on volcano exploration with her since I have plans for that.

CR Dreams: Honestly, I'm great with any kind of CR but Benedikta isn't the most pleasant person (actually, far from it) so anyone who is okay with some negative CR would be ideal. People she can manipulate into doing her bidding, or people she can team up with and then betray later, whether they are paladin or corsair, she will take them. She does have a bit of a soft and protective spot for younger girls (especially any who have had troubled pasts), so I would adore exploring that, if any want to come rest under her wings. Also, I love pitting her against people who are really good at getting under her skin. But honestly, just give me all kinds of CR, I'm here for it. She does get along with like-minded people, so anyone who is just as ruthless and cutthroat as she is, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Etc.: I mentioned this in Tifa's but will also put here: Just a heads up that class starts up again on Monday for me, so I'll be back to being a bit slower. Farewell, vacation...

Going to have Ketheric pull a dude where's my car moment looking for the Stormbringer to peace out from Eltrut and finds the Hideaway instead with low and behold one miss Benedikta chilling by the fire because he too isn't much on parties nowadays where they can commiserate together. :D
