It's basically Disney magical schools. He's kinda based around the Sultan from Aladdin in his personality/appearance being rather oblivious and excitable. Really, he just wants to have fun!! Feasts, music, parades and dancing are his favourite things! And not focus on the impact of his family's wealth (poisoning, kidnapping and assassination attempts) has had on him. He's the heir to the Asim family of the Scalding Sands, and has around thirty??? siblings. And has a magic carpet, come let him fly you around on it, guys! It's so much fun!!
He goes to Night Raven College (based on seven of the Disney Villains where the characters are in seven different houses. There's also Royal Sword Academy based on the opposite with the Heroes.) to learn magic after his servant/bff Jamil goes there and he follows along. He loves flying on his broom, is a member of the pop music club where he plays the drums, and is always inviting friends over for a party/feast, any excuse to have fun! His signature spell is Oasis Maker, which basically means he can create/summon water for very little magic in exchange. Not as useful when most places have running tap water on demand, but for those that don't, very lucrative and valuable.
It's kinda impossible to talk about Kalim without Jamil because they are so intertwined, but. Basically, Jamil is his servant he grew up with and Jamil's family have served the Asim's forever, so of course, he was put to work to support Kalim. Kalim was oblivious to the pressure and resentment this put on Jamil and genuinely considered them to be best friends, and still does, even if there's work to do in resolving things in the aftermath of Jamil kinda snapping about it all in book four. He's used to Jamil doing more or less everything for him, especially taking care of his meals, because Kalim has dealt with being poisoned in the past. Kalim literally only eats food Jamil makes for him back home. So that's generally going to be an adjustment as he learns to be more independent here! Help him learn some very basic tasks everyone will question how he doesn't already know to do, please??? I apologize for how absolutely hopeless this boy will be initially......!!

I know Riddle has been very standoffish in our threads, but I promise the end goal with Mr. No Fun IS to eventually get closer as friends. Ridds wouldn't be Ridds if any of that stuff came easy haha. It'll be cute for them both to loosen up and learn how to safely explore new things outside of their comfort zones

Haha, it's okay, I know how Riddle is. Underneath the temper and strictness he is a softie, really. Kalim will get there! He's just had more time/scenes with the Octavinelle boys. But we can def work on that! And they can get there in getting closer/Kalim helping Riddle loosen up more and have fun! It is kind of his thing, after all. Let him drag Riddle along on his adventures!
And maybe rope Riddle into teaching him some basic life skills because he will need to learn without Jamil to do everything for him, lmao. Sorry, buddy. I could just see Riddle being all huff huff how do you not know this already?? And determining to teach Kalim, making a schedule for lessons and everything.

I'll re-post his "about" from the CR Workship blurb here: Grog is a big, dumb himbo who gets really, really angry and channels that rage into fighting his enemies. Back home, he and his friends fight to save their world from the forces of evil, whether that's greedy dragons bent on world domination, or an undead lich trying to turn himself into a god. He likes drinking, fighting, and visiting the nearest "house of lady favors." He's also functionally illiterate, and can only read words of up to 4-5 letters.
And of course, he has his classic catchphrase:

If Heavy Point form is 9 feet, then it would be taller than Grog's 8'7"! That is, until Grog engages his Titanstone Knuckles and grows to approx 17'... But either way, he loves having little buddies (his best friends are both less than 3' tall) and having a little buddy who can become a big buddy is awesome!

I'm only familiar through the Legend of Vox Machina and am waiting for the next season. So excited for it! .....And now I am just picturing Grog carrying him around in his bitty form and exclaiming over his Big Buddy when Chopper transforms. Cute....!!!

Technically, I probably should have had him beardless on the TDM, since the beard comes from a magic belt he has, but it didn't even occur to me until too late. Ah, well.

For those who don't know, Zhao is from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, he's taken from post game of Infinite Wealth. He owns a restaurant but still dabbles in kung fu, dubious heroics and getting into trouble with friends.

I'm basically recycling my EMP post but Lio comes from the world of Promare, a movie that probably spend way too much time on people's fandom feeds back around 2019/2020. His world is filled with people known as Burnish can spontaneously combust. After three decades, they faced widespread prejudice and oppression, largely existing at the fringes of society if they had any freedom at all. Lio was the leader of the Mad Burnish, considered a terrorist organization by the government. But the reality was, the destruction they caused is just part of their nature and he ensured that they try to avoid any senseless deaths.
Some cool motorcycles, a fire dragon, giant robots, and almost apocalypse later and he'll be coming in from the end of his canon, where things are going a lot better for everyone.

Hee and I love that <3 Riddle has brought out the protective instincts in the most random of people so far (Like Ulpianus. Who he met by yelling at for poor beachwear choices.) I guess it's just hard to resist that bossy flustered charm! He is quite approving of Lio too.

Lol that really is it! Like if he was older or all bossy it would be annoying, but then he's just trying so hard to still be a good boy and it's really obvious. You just want to pat him on the head. (Lio will not do that. That would be weird when he's practically the same height)
