ENABLE ME TIMBERS: JUNE 2024

YO HO HO EVERYONE! This is an ATP/EMP post where players can make cast requests for people to app into, or make ads for characters they are considering bringing into the game. It works like any other ATP/EMP, but we do have a few things to note down:

» Invitations are required to reserve and apply! But you can go ahead and post to the ATP/EMP post with a note you need an invite. If you know a current player, they can comment here to submit their invite for approval. Direct requests to the mods are currently closed.

» We have a 65 player cap.

» Players can only app 2 characters at once with a max limit of 3 in game. But since this is an ATP/EMP, feel free to put more if you're having trouble deciding!

» Our Game Info should cover everything you need, from basic premise summary to the nitty gritty details of the game mechanics. If you have any questions, post them there.

» Just want to make it clear that this is not a claims page. While we give priority to whoever is on the Reserve list, we do allow app challenges, and there is no rule against multiple players TDMing the same character. Of course we don't want there to be too much conflict, so everyone please be polite no matter who it is.

» TDM is Sunday, June 16th. This TDM will double as our Latrommi Event, but we will include a traditional "starter prompt" for TDM specific characters. Everything will be carried over as canon!

» Reservations open Monday, June 24th.

So, this is Dexter Grif from the popular, and now sadly defunct, webseries, Red vs. Blue.

What can be said about Grif? He's a member of Red Team. He defaults to being the driver of the Warthog. He's extremely lazy, in the way that he will actually work very hard to avoid doing what he's ordered to do. He can absorb cartoonish amounts of damage. He's kind of a jerk, but maybe he also cares. If he has to. Also his armour is orange, thank you.

He's an older muse of mine so I'm not promising anything as I attempt to wake him up. He naps very heavily. But he'd probably be coming from the end of season 13 or season 19 (which is the final season). And only because I think it would be funny for him to walk out of one red team into another.

Or he'll just sink to the bottom of the ocean. Guess we'll find out.

Hello, hello! I'm Steph, I've been in the rp realm off and on for years at this point, now I have returned and with an old fav (Aerith).

I know she's been here before, so many will be familiar with her. She's from Final Fantasy VII (remake verse) and she's just a cute little scamp (not to be confused with our favorite propaganda dawg stamp). Appearances are very deceiving with her, which can absolutely work in her favor because despite loving a cute, simple dress she will hold her own when the occasion calls for it.

She's also curious af and is down to do ADVENTURE. Sometimes to the point of detriment but hey life's short! ( :( ) I always enjoy finding her somewhere she can explore and have fun, while also building up relationships for her - positive or negative.

As for me, hi. It's been a long time since I've been around but I'm pretty laid back and would love to get her somewhere to spread her wings.

Final Fantasy XVI

Want a place for your Final Fantasy XVI character? Our casts is looking for more to add to ours! We currently have a wonderful and active cast of: Benedikta Harman, Cidolfus Telamon, Clive Rosfield, Jill Warrick, Joshua Rosfield and Midadol Telamon! And never forget Torgal and Ambrosia.

Our cast is lucky to all work together as a Corsair Crew under the banner of The Hideaway where they focus on exploration and growth. We also accept cross canon characters (from Genshin Impact and Tales Of, to name a few) into the crew so we have a vibrant mix of characters! We current have an island base called The Roost. Recently, the cast has dealt with Garuda coming down across the land in her primal form and have been dealing with the fallout of that. And now they have another issue and that’s how to deal with Ultima.

We would love to see anyone from the cast join us! In particular we would love to see Dion Lesage, Gav, Barnabas Thorn, Charon and Hugo Kupka. But we would love to see anyone! Including any cross canon Final Fantasy characters or anyone else who might want to join the crew!

Have you ever thought about what would happen if an actual spider demon from hell decided to become a pirate? No? That sounds terrifying, actually! Angel Dust is really not so scary, but he is a former mafia brat who's done his fair share of dirty dealings, so he can be intimidating when he needs to be. Eventually, the human passed away, and the demon was born, and now, he resides in hell. Angel's done a lot of things he's not proud of, but he seemingly wants redemption, or, at the very least, wants to do better as he moves forward.

I would love to see Angel grow here, learning to deal with other beings that aren't demons, and allowing him to be free from Valentino. He's a character that can be quite spicy, but he genuinely wants to do better, and I think it would be interesting to see him develop as his own person. Exploring, questing, and just having fun without the stress of his boss weighing down on him makes it seem like this could be a fun vacation, and may also give him the courage he needs to blossom.

For a couple of months, I have been introducing the chaotic nature of Ranma's world to the inhabitants and the world of Escordvi and causing some mayhem here and there. But you know what they say: the more, the merrier! I play Ranma as a mixture between anime and manga canon, so anime or manga-based characters are more than welcomed!

Currently, it's just the pigtailed jerk who is a Corsair. Ranma himself is currently apart of the PLUS ULTRA crew with all the other shounens, and they're more than welcoming to any others. Especially to people Ranma's familiar with.

Ian's not one to shy from adventure. He might be a bit weary of it when he enters the game, but he definitely won't shy away from what needs to be done. He does have a tendency to analyze everything, and to be cryptic about his conclusions, of course.

I would take him from the end of the first movie - that's just my preferred canonpoint. (Oh man, if he thinks he knows weary!) If anyone's not familiar (somehow), he comes from 1994's Jurassic Park, based on the Michael Crichton novel, about a research firm that manages to turn their genetic research into resurrected dinosaurs via cloning. Ian's brought on to vet the amusement park they decide to fill with the creatures, and he refuses to sign on, citing nature's unpredictability and tendency to break through man-made barriers.

I'm thirsty for any kind of CR - friends and enemies, detractors and fans alike. Ian's style isn't for everyone, as charming as he can be for some.

Vholran here is a former slave who got biohacked into an ice wizard and lost his mind. He now tries to rule over mankind as a tyrant, believing that as long as there is nobody around to rule over him, he'll never be a slave again.

He is cruel, sadistic, masochistic, oppressive and misanthropic. He believes humans just kinda suck in general and that with free will they will always find ways to make life miserable.

What Vholran really wants is a life of stability and unfettered freedom, but he doesn't have the life experience to know this is what he wants. He only knows that rulers are not controlled and he will never let anyone control him again. Through a history of loneliness and abuse, he has learned to internalize the most brutal aspects of his oppressors and project them back out at everyone around him.

In short, he's a delightful person.

Okay, but really, this is Seph from OG FFVII meaning he would be all into becoming a god, still have his memories, and not be completely obsessed with Cloud (...yet). He is a former super soldier who, through a series of unfortunate events, died and is trying to literally put himself together again. Also he intends to fuse with his planet and take it for whatever the opposite of a joy ride is. Or that's what he was doing but coming here he'd have a single physical body again. Sucks for him!

As a Paladin, he would be lending his military might to the cause of exploration and being weird about science.

Winner of the most punchable face award, Aventurine is one of the IPC's Ten Stonehearts, recently dispatched to Penacony as an ambassador. Aventurine is charismatic but cunning, taking gamble after gamble with higher risks for higher rewards, while orchestrating the odds in his favor with some real 5D chess shenanigans. He's cagey about his past and reluctant to show vulnerability, but he has a lot more going on than he reveals; like any gambler worth his salt, he keeps his cards close to his chest. I'd be playing him from Patch 2.2!

So Saw has a lot of sequels, like most horror movies get. My favorite of the bunch is Saw VI purely for its protagonist. William's just your ordinary health insurance execution, and senior vice president (or ex-senior vice president) of Umbrella Health. No relations to Resident Evil, of course. In his former life, William devised a formula to decide which client's claims to cover or deny. He was proud of this formula, almost to a cocky degree, but there's something he didn't take into account for.

He's in a Saw movie. Meaning big bad Jigsaw did not appreciate his callous approach to and disregard for human life, and put him through his own game. One that showed him the flaws of his beloved formula, putting him in the front seat of playing judge, jury and executioner. Surprisingly, unlike most Saw protagonist, William was on the road to redemption and started changing for the better, as Jigsaw typically intends for his victims... until he got melted in half by Rodrick from Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Whoopsadaisy.

Being put in a Jigsaw game was bad enough. But arriving in a pirate game, just mere seconds after what seemed like his death? William's... going to be a little nettled and confused and very freaked the hell out cause he's just a normal guy????

VANESSA

FNAF: SECURITY BREACH

If there's anyway to describe Vanessa, it's "not getting paid enough to deal with this shit". Let's list it off. Working for Fazbear Entertainment, a company with a blood-stained history of disappearing children and nightguards alike? Check. Hunting down a kid in a three-story 'Mega Pizzaplex' while animatronics run amuck. Check. Dealing with an AI of a serial killer S.Q.U.I.Ped inside your head, slowly wearing you down and making you continue his work after betatesting a VR game made to cover up the company's unsavory past? Checkaroo.

Needless to say, Vanessa's put through the wringer in this series. At least the (seemingly because wtf is FNAF lore) implied canon ending shows that she's not dealing with the third issue anymore. And the others, cause she lost her job as a security guard. But either way, she's finally getting some peace and quiet annnnnnd pirate world. This is fine, this is fine. She's dealt with the craziness that is the plot of FNAF, this world can't be worse and drive her mad, right?

Agatha of the Woods Beyond

The School for Good and Evil

Preferred Armada: NGL, Corsairs will sound more exciting to her.

So The School for Good and Evil is literally about that in the beginning -- the School for Good and Evil, two school separated by a bridge with Evil students (termed 'Nevers' for Nevermore) and Good students (termed 'Evers' for Ever After) attend classes to eventually become parts of their own fairy tales. That's the only way out of the school supposedly, to become part of a fairy tale whether it's as a prince or princess, an evil leader or some smaller bit role in them. It's all up to the Storian, an enchanted pen that writes out fairy tales as they occur. Once the Storian starts writing your story you have to find your Ever After for the tale to end ... or die trying.

Agatha was pulled into this whole mess trying to save her best friend Sophie, a blonde-haired green eyed picture of a princess who figured she'd end up in the Good school, meet her prince and have a Happily Ever After. Unfortunately it turned out she was bound for the School for Evil. And shockingly Agatha ended up in the School for Good.

Agatha in the beginning is the very picture of a witch. She grew up in a graveyard, she had dark hair and eyes and everyone figured sure as the world she would was a witch for sure. What a surprise then that Agatha has a big heart, a good soul, strong morals and in time grows up to be courageous and kind leader. I'll probably take her from the end of the second book and then canon update her as I go through the rest of the series.

Mermaid Saga

Y'all know Rumiko Takashi, yeah? Of course you do, you've got a Ranma and everything! Well Mana is from another Rumiko Takashi series called Mermaid Saga. Some of you might know it better by it's two OVAs, Mermaid Forest (1991) and Mermaid's Scar (1993). These are two stories of a longer multi-story series following a traveling pair of immortals named Yuta and Mana. Both are mermaid flesh at different periods in history and gained immortality through said flesh.

Mana was 15 in 1980 when she ate her bit of mermaid flesh. Due to being kept captive and incapacitated most of her life Mana is a bit naive to emotions and regular life altogether. She can get very emotional and is the definition of choosing 'fight' instead of 'flee'. She rescues Yuta more than once through the years and her loyalty to him is unmatched.

She's very intelligent and strategy minded, but also a super huge nerd who is kind of awkward when it comes to socializing without her position to hide behind. Regardless of what armada she ends up with, she's going to have some Criticisms.

The actual GBA hero protag of the second game, Felix was thought dead 3 years before the main events of the first two games. He reappears while working with the antagonists of the first game and helps them make his hometown completely fail in the one job they had. Also his younger sister ends up getting dragged along with them against his wishes.

The first game features Isaac's group following them and citing Felix as being the bad guy an inordinate amount of times despite the fact that he's never the one causing mayhem and attacking them. They want to stop his group from lighting the Elemental Lighthouses and restoring the power of Alchemy to the world, because people were basically destroying each other until it was sealed away. But the first two lighthouses are ignited and the antagonist duo are killed at the end of the first game, after which we take over as Felix trying to keep lighting the beacons despite the fact that we're about halfway through the second game before they explain why it's not actually a bad idea.

Felix can come off as very brisk and cryptic, and is rash enough that the other characters mention it (even before the incident his journal name is from, when he indeed dives off the top of a very tall lighthouse to go after someone who fell off). But he's also a good guy who helps people when they're in trouble and will fight or defy anyone who's in the wrong. He only starts off helping to light the lighthouses because the other people thought dead in the same incident as him are being held hostage, those being his parents and Isaac's father. He's also the sort who thinks that if there's something that needs to be done but it will make the doer look like the bad guy, he may as well do it and not let anyone else get involved.

There's a lot of work to be done! Lands to map, people to profile, anomalies to investigate, and more than a few problem-children that need a close eye kept on them before things get a little out of control. Your average day for a Turk, so consider it good practice to keep your skills sharp while you're away from home!

Consider this a roll call for any and all Turks from the FF VII series. Reno is a sad, lonely little meow-meow and misses Tseng, Rude, and Elena, but he'd be equally thrilled to see dad Veld, Rod, Shotgun, Shuriken/Cissnei, Nunchuck--literally any of his old partners. Vincent Valentine is also welcome to come chill with the Turks, even though he says he's not a Turk any more. (we all know what's up)

Rufus ShinRa is of course welcome to join the crew, and will equally be encouraged to try out on the TDM, along with any and all VII castmates.

Gremlin 1. I had Yuffie here briefly, and I am considering bringing her back with an updated canon point of sometime in Rebirth. She'd come from either Cosmo Canyon or Nibelheim with a brand-new colorful chocobo with special abilities! Also, the Ramuh materia again, bc I love to harass Lae. Otherwise, I think Yuffie and her canon doesn't need a big introduction, even if people aren't caught up on Rebirth yet.

My problem is trying to decide who takes my last slot for this game. Gremlin 1, Gremlin 2, or Grumpy Lady.

Shionne Vymer Imeris Daymore

Tales of Arise

Shionne is a prickly young woman who is cursed to hurt anyone who tries to touch her. She lived a life of isolation because of her curse thorns, that has also kept her distant from other people. Her goal is to get rid of the five lords and finds someone who is able to get close to her because he feels no pain. They team up and start a journey across the world, gathering allies and taking down evil lords to free the people.

I did have Velvet from Tales of Berseria here for a little while, and thought I might try my hand at another prickly protag lady from the Tales of series. Because of her goal and uncaring nature for people suffering at the start of the game, I think Corsair would fit her better than Paladin would. I would be taking her from early on in the game and canon updating her later after I do a replay. Shionne uses a gun along with astral artes to fight, so it could be very interesting to mix that with the magitech of Escordvi.

Vanitas

The Case Study of Vanitas

Gremlin, take two. Vanitas is a nineteen-year-old young man from steampunk, vampire France. He has a tragic, mysterious childhood he doesn't like to talk about and was rescued by the Vampire of the Blue Moon. At some point, he was bitten by this vampire and given a bit of power, along with a book that can corrupt or heal a vampire by using this true name. Something seems to have happened, and Vanitas now seeks revenge upon this vampire, so he has decided that he is going to be a doctor for every single vampire that his kin wanted to take revenge on. He will heal them, regardless of their own desires or wants or even fears.

Vanitas is an overactive, reckless man who seems to take almost nothing seriously except when he clearly does. Likes high places, dislikes sweets, can cook, pick locks, has mad fighting skills, can survive lots of damage, enjoys keeping people at arm's length and never wants someone to get attached to him. He also never, ever, ever, ever will let anyone see his memories - if they try, he will lose his mind and try to either kill that person or die. He gives some people nicknames and enjoys annoying them in one way or another, yet somehow still manages to make connections with them. His powers will be pretty useless here, as most of them only work on vampires, so it'd be really fun getting to dig into the elemental magic of this world for him.

Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate's life for me?

Looking for Kingdom Hearts pals to join Roxas in the Not!Caribbean! All the benefits of being a pirate, none of the clunky sailing mechanics or annoying races against Luxord (unless you like that sort of thing).

It's just Roxas and Sora right now, a couple of Paladins who certainly aren't getting into any trouble what so ever. They don't need supervision or anyone with a brain cell. Not at all. Arlecchino is the Fourth of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, also know as the Knave- but also happens to be the Director of the House of the Hearth(Hey kids). Very much a person who can and will get things done as she sees fit, while also holding herself to a certain degree of decorum and politeness. The same standards that she holds her Children to.

Krile is a delight to have around and will offer muchly needed sass should you require it. A conjurer main who picked up the hot new job pictomancer, she's the one to go to for healing, research, and all-around support. She has a big heart and is very caring, but do not assume that just because she wears a cute cat-ear hooded jacket that she's a pushover. She can and will bring up cringe info just to embarrass you if you decide to try and get smart with her.

Timeline-wise, with "Dawntrail" around the corner, she'd be coming from around the end of "Endwalker" patches.

manato ishigaki, 30 years old, a beachy surfer guy who is, surprisingly, both a great performer ( singer/dancer ) and a surfboard brand CEO. he can be spacey and a little too easy going but there’s also some hidden flaws and insecurities that he tries his damndest to bury.

there’s a lot going on with this guy but to keep it short he is also: kind of a slut, half-undead, and afflicted with a disease that makes him need to be near the ocean often. ask me about him!

iru is in the same group as manato — called HIGH-TIDE, they’re based out of okinawa. iru is a model with, like, a bajillion followers. he’s also kind of a slut, but he’s not quite as charismatic as the others. he was spirited away as a child and can see auras. while he is not as great with people, he’s not without his charm and his draw. he’s also a performer and likes to collect local mascot merch.

This is Wirt, just Wirt. He's afraid of most things, a pessimist, whispers poetry to himself while laying in bed, and tried to give his crush a mix tape of himself playing clarinet. Totally normal stuff. Wirt probably will be overly dramatic and not readily open to adventuring (but is kind of a pushover and easy to drag along into things). Perfect for a budding Corsair who needs to be allowed to REBEL. Anyway, for those that don't know, Over the Garden Wall is basically Dante's Inferno.

Vanitas no Carte/ The Case Study of Vanitas

Noé is a particular sort of vampire, the Archiviste, which means he can see someone's memories and feelings when feeding from someone directly. He is told by his teacher to go and find out about this particular book that 'Vanitas' has and the ability/powers of this book. So he heads off and goes to find this Vanitas, and sees that he is helping the vampires with the abilities/power of this book, so decides to stick with the other, essentially in starting off the events of the series.

Personality wise, he is rather flighty in that he can be very easily enamored/distracted with things. It's easy for him to wander off and get lost - hence why Domi, his childhood friend, has a chain/leash on him at one point for example. He has a particular sweet tooth besides the obvious of drinking blood (tarte tatin is his favourite). He has a pet cat named Murr (big floofy grump who is always scratching his poor owner), and is especially protective of others, selfless in often standing in the way in protecting Vanitas or someone else in trouble. Partly because of that protective selflessness and partly because, you know, as a vampire, he can take a hit better. He is loyal, obedient in obeying his Teacher/Master's orders in sticking with Vanitas even if they don't immediately get on, and do sometimes disagree on things in clashing at times given Noé being more idealistic and naïve in comparison to the other. And because this is Mochijun yeah, he has hella trauma backstory because of course he does.

But I can see him as Paladin, just because he always tries to see the good in people and do the right thing.
