CR WORKSHIP: MARCH 2024

Our ~~CR Meme~~ CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

About:

Faris was born Princess Sarisa to the most absurdly altruistic, will-fall-on-a-sword-immediately (esp for dragons) family of possibly anywhere. Then she was lost at sea age 5 and rescued by pirates.

So now Faris is living with the fact that he was raised to be a selfish marauder, and is really good at it, and is proud of how good he as at it, while also being proud of his heritage and wanting to understand it better. Also pirates teach you how to do many things but "form a healthy relationship with your own emotions and identity" is not one of them. It's a bit of a mess.

He helped save the world with 3 other goofballs with the help of a bunch of consecutively shattered crystals that they were trying to protect, so at least he has developed a genuine sense of altruism and responsibility for the world around him--one that extends to this world, even though it isn't his own.

Abilities:
Faris is from one of those "save the world through dress-up" Final Fantasies. She's mastered the Dragoon job (jump high, land hard, plus a lil dragon-flavored magic), Thief (general sneakiness and sneaky skills), and Cannoneer (summoning a tiny cannon out of hammerspace and opening fire using various magic powder & ammo). Outside of that, Faris has been at sea man and boy and is also a dab hand with pretty much anything that's got a blade on the end of it.

I also need to count up the points Faris has earned and see if she's got enough to get the Syldra summon back.

General: I was on hiatus last month, so short-term plans are get back into it! Long-term plans, if I can get my ass sorted out, are for Faris to captain a ship. And to do that, there will need to be at least a handful of people who Faris enjoys spending time around and vice versa, so: more CR building and deepening.

MANTA Board:
Barfights: Faris will be sorely tempted by this but has an aversion to actually getting legless drunk. So if you want to catch him participating without actually getting his blood to 190 proof...
Slugs and wolves: Faris will be helping clear out the slugs and will be willing to fight the wolfy fish because those are both threats to the local ecology and threats to people's lives. Join him!

If you're interested in one of the things not listed here, hmu! (Whether it's by help or hindrance.)

Event: I will probably be doing both topleveling and tagging around. Faris will probably be swinging between being overly truthful and telling tall tales. Because it's how FFV's party rolls, she will be affected in whatever way is least useful to the situation at hand.

She will only get help with this from the pinching crabs.

CR Dreams: Faris is a person who despises talking about feelings unless those feelings are directly related to being a pirate. He's got a soft spot for goofballs, the overly earnest, and cantankerous old coots. So he's liable to get along with those sorts, even if he won't admit it out loud. It's also easier to get your foot in the door with him if you're doing some kind of dangerous thing together, since he's much more comfortable there than doing uhhh most normal human activities. If you impress him with your nerve / earnestness / skill, then he'll probably seek you out in future.

Or you could just drive each other up the wall by being stubborn idiots. That is fun and hilarious and I'm for it.

Also, Faris has some Gender Issues that have a lot to do with being raised in a setting without a very advanced understanding of gender issues. Princess Sarisa was shipwrecked age 5 and found by pirates who raised her as a boy because Only Men Can Be Pirates, and now Faris is best summed up as "genderfluid but doesn't know that word exists". Faris has since learned that pronouns are a thing you can decide for yourself without having to get in a fight about it (???????) and in true Faris fashion has sort of buried that, but his complicated feelings are sort of bubbling around there. I'd like it if he could start figuring that out a bit more! (If you don't enjoy that sort of subject while doing fun pirate RP times, you can lmk here or here

Faris Scherwiz | Final Fantasy V | Corsair
