QUICK UPDATES
YO HO HO!! HAPPY NEW YEAR'S ALL!!! Hope everyone is recovering from the holidays! This month is a bit more relaxed on our end, but there is Azul's player plot and we'll start working on forming more groups for the subplots.
We have updated the Calendar for important dates, but here is a quick heads up on what to expect this month:

EXTRA NOTES
Here is a recap of a few things that occurred last month.
Spirit of Winterstide. Thanks to everyone's help and the Frostsinger's concert, the two spirits seem to have been "appeased." At the very least, they seem to have learned the meaning of "joy" and "grief" and, more importantly, that both are needed together. Some important lessons include: how to apologize and forgive others; negative, destructive feelings could be channeled for something more joyful; that happiness cannot happen on command and that sometimes what one needs is someone to be there for them; how important it is to express grief. The two will enter the tree, now covered with an abundance of bright and dull pink flowers, making it momentarily glow before it transforms into one large crystal orchid. It will be this orchid that will need to be taken back. The strange, small frozen little island will also disappear in shadowy mist the moment people have cleared away.
Everyone will be given a special pot that will grow one's very own crystal flowers. Some will remain decorative without much effect, but others may capture those emotions and even reflect some of those memories on the petals every now and then.
Those who signed up last month for the follow-up (Turo, Shadow, Sherlock, and Emet-Selch) and are still interested will go on a special expedition. What interesting discoveries will they make…? (This will be timed so that it doesn't conflict with the Azul plot.)

» Niltast research. Cid and Turo have discovered some old tech in Nilatast, some of it possibly recoverable. The discoveries made were helped by the scientist's spirit inhabiting the body of a robo guide-dog the scientist had designed and built. Everything is a reflection of how advanced the city and perhaps the world at large was.
» A Silent Voice. Azul and Della had a little chat with the Deep Sea Girl about her recent activities. Azul may or may not have gone all sea witch tentacle-ly to scare her and returned the stolen voices to their rightful owners.
» Pearlescent God. It looks like Faulkner and Della have successfully convinced the villagers to try and atone for their sins by putting the 'god' back in the sea. Faulkner cited the legends of islands that sank after disrespecting the ocean and hurting magical creatures, as well as invoking some implications about the recent poachers that were drowned as a reason to tread carefully. After they've left, there may have been a few whispers of calling Faulkner a prophet...
» Rift Research. Darin spent the month focusing on his Beacon Box project, successfully launching one into the rifts at the start of December. He willingly sacrificed the hammer his adopted father made for him when he took him on as an apprentice to imbue the box with his emotional core. Whatever data is received will be made public in January to the rest of the game as he hopes to convince other parties to imbue their own boxes and allow him to cast them out. So far, Garrus and Zelda have volunteered to have their boxes made and cast out.

PLAYER PLOTS
Just want to quickly highlight that we currently have a player plot going on this month that can affect the larger population! Azul is overblotting and not only are there two quests on the MANTA board related to it, Azul's phantom will be turning into a giant Ursula kaiju sea witch that needs to be smacked down. For more information, refer to the main post here!
There is another player plot brewing with Shadow the Hedgehog that won't happen until around summer. He's going to go on a rampage to conquer Escordvi, and the information can be found here!

FUTURE SUB PLOTS INTEREST CHECK
All right we are continuing to dole out more of these focused quests/expeditions/adventures that tie in with the other sub plots we have and to help push things along.
There are a couple that we think we can line up within the next month or two, so we'd like to go ahead and get an interest check going! We don't have the lore page up just yet, but hopefully we will soon! You can refer to the quick links compiled here for now as a refresher.
Sarht's Desert. The desert region and the coliseum have been under constant research and with Dragon's Gale coming up in February, we may be able to tie something here instead. We're still working things out, but regardless we could have a small group have something related to the ancient dragon.
Nilatast. We know this one is a big one that everyone wants to see next and we're mostly working out the best schedule for the next big phase. Until then, however, we can have a small group to play a major role in getting us there. The timing of this is not as concrete, but perhaps March for the deadline.
These are the two we think we should try and address first before we add on some new ones. It's also the best way for us to gauge if this method is working or not with the Ainomiad group acting as our real first guinea pig this month. If you are interested in either of these, comment to the designated toplevels!

Preferences: Shadow has one of the 12 keys, so figure to have him involved. Open to have him wherever is needed. Maybe take up an artifact to keep from Eggman.
