Our CR Meme CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.
We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.
If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Or if you want the two-minute version: Karlach is a tiefling barbarian woman who got forcefully conscripted into a war in the Hells. It was a pretty bad time and she got experimented on, resulting in her heart getting replaced with an infernal machine. The machine runs INCREDIBLY HOT, meaning she's afflicted with a permanent status effect of being on fucking fire. It's also going to eventually run too hot and kill her, but let's not worry about that!
At least, she can be used to light campfires or roast things over.
Despite her experiences, Karlach is an excitable golden retriever sort of individual. Her heart is big and open and she's looking to make connections. Life's short and that's why you gotta live it!
Abilities: This might surprise you, but she is quite adept at fighting. Particularly with large weapons like great axes or great hammers or even other people if the need should arise. Sometimes you just gotta hit one guy with another guy.
She'll be getting a tattoo to keep her engine stable and from burning her up from inside. And an added bonus effect happens to be FIRE powers because hey, why not turn the direction of this into harnessing it?
PLANS
MANTA Board: Without a shadow of a doubt, Karlach is adopting one of the cats. That's going to happen and it's going to be a bit of a big ordeal for her. Everyone is going to have to put up with her crying and wailing over her sheer delight and joy at having a cat to admire. She's going to be insufferable for a while. But hey, have you seen her cat? Look at her cat!
I'm pretty much interested in everything else, but I don't have any solid plans in mind just yet.
Event: I'll toplevel and then we'll just run hog wild forward.
CR Dreams: A L L. No, really. All of it.
I would be over the moon for Karlach to be able to make more friends, more connections, and actually develop meaningful relationships. She's still pretty fresh out of a situation that didn't allow for much of that, so it's truly a luxury. Rivalries, complicated relationships, fighting buddies, whatever!
In the future, I would love for her to be able to form romantic feelings for someone! Maybe even get those feelings returned (but that's not required tbh).

Karlach needs a mechanic. The problem with her heart is that the infernal machinery isn't. . . efficient. Neither was it meant to be. Who cares if she dies, right? It's a personal plot point in the game (should your PC choose to pursue it) that she gets it upgraded by a mechanic who actually has some know-how of infernal machinery. They basically do some patch-work with infernal iron they were able to get their hands on.
The upgrade is only enough to let her touch people, but not keep it from combusting.
The end result of this is: ↓↓ [SPOILERS, highlight text] ↓↓
Your endgame options are to let it burn her up and kill her or permanently banish her back to the Hells where it won't overheat or become a mindflayer. All 3 pretty are unfortunate ends. Even though we were introduced to the idea of getting it fixed with a mechanic and even pick up new, stronger infernal irons, the plot (insofar) is like haha! Oh well! Nothing can be done!
Good thing this is RP. Oof.
OK, so that's as far as canon goes. We don't get a chance to explore it beyond those avenues because of other, more pressing plot concerns.
I think a very good case could be made for someone with a strong enough ability to control hellfire to be able to help her. It wouldn't solve the machinery issue, but could very well assist with some temperature regulation.

One of the things I am most excited to play with is her heart and heating issues so I'm ALL FOR IT.
Would he be able to benefit from helping her out since some of his abilities are powered by hellfire?

At least at the start. He does a lot of posturing and threatening that he pretty much never has reason to make good on - his dragon lieutenant he regularly threatens with skinning or ripping out his 'dragon bones' but it's all bark and no bite because Shangque is more valuable to him alive and whole and he recognizes that.
Considering her position in canon, she's probably the only one who could immediately peg him as a Lord of Hell (if a different universe's) and the tyrant nature that comes with being that after he gets his power back because he just feels Hell-aligned and suffused with Hellfire to those who might be sensitive to it.

Also I meant to ask for possible future reasons, so as of right now Karlach still can't be touched, right? That's a hard choice. As a FFXIV player, I'm legally obligated to be madly in love with Raha because he's a good, good boy. I also think he could probably relate a lot to Karlach considering his old crystaly condition.
But also Cloud is a good boy who could benefit from the kind of loud ass that Karlach is. Someone to affectionately bully.
