Hello! My name is Ilya and I'm bringing in Faulkner from the folk-horror/alternate history/capitalism satire podcast The Silt Verses.

He's a chipper, naive, slightly awkward little trans country boy... who up until recently was the semi-false Prophet of the Trawler-man, a capricious and deadly river god. He's concerningly good at drowning people but never learned to swim. Clearly, he'll have a great time here.

lmao yep, Faulkner's (debatably) the prophet of a river god and argues that said god would find it disrespectful if his people learned to swim. That implies you wouldn't simply accept it when the Trawler-man decides it's your time.

I've never heard of The Silt Verses before now, but it sounds like Faulkner is quite the character. Hopefully he doesn't... fall into the water.
