CR WORKSHIP: SEPTEMBER 2024

Our CR Meme CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

About: Typical stoic, aloof, silent elite agent soldier lone wolf type with the biggest soft spot for all things dog. His ideal is to live a life filled with peace and quiet, and so he fights to protect not only his peace but others as well. Eustace can be a bit rough around the edges, but he's softened up and can be amiable with those he's grown to trust and care for. Often compared to as a "guard dog" he is fiercely loyal to those close to him. He is skilled with guns, short blades, and grenades with his favored weapon being Flamek, a special rifle that can unleash lightning.

For some other random tidbits, that hairstyle isn't just for looks—his right eye is sensitive to light. Normally it's not a problem, but when there are sudden bright flashes that he can't prepare for, he can be temporarily blinded on that side. He does have an eyepatch he can wear though it's only for certain combat situations. As an Erune, the dog-like ears on his head are very real, but he does not have a tail. Also as an Erune, the fashion choice of open sides and backs is the norm— He also loves dogs. Like. A lot. He has his dog Valo, who is starting to pick up on some Corsair habits much to his dismay... Abilities: As mentioned Eustace is an experienced fighter with his forte in all things gun. He's an ace marksman and can even dual wield, be it two guns at once or a gun and dagger. He also knows how to handle grenades and is familiar with most weapons. Technically he has other skills, but what is video games and how do buffs and debuffs work. In any case, his main element will be lightning since that's the element Flamek is. He's never really cast spells directly, however, so he'll be going through a lot of practice to try and harness this properly.

PLANS

General: Eustace has fully embraced the "ranger" type mercenary where if there's something where animals (not bounties) are threatened, he'll want to help take care of it. Otherwise, continuing the merc life and enjoying his time with his doggo and helping out at Red XIII's Conservatory.

MANTA Board: A few quests I'll be on the lookout for:

• Only Scale Deep: He'll be focusing on finding the poachers and dealing with them...however that entails.
  
• Infiltrate and Liberate: Eustace had personally seen groups trying to turn animals into gemstone on Astares so this would pique his interest. Especially since this kind of work is right up his alley.
  
• Punch Drunk Love. WOULD BE KIND OF FUNNY TO FIGHT SOME GORILLAS.
  
• Don't Talk about Stab Club. He would have to somehow be dragged in, but getting some practice with his knife skills never hurts. Well, might hurt the other person.
  
• Whale Helpers. Eustace would be all over "hunting the hunters" and help with any investigations related to it.

Event: Definitely topleveling!

CR Dreams: From anyone Eustace can be soft on to those he'll be guarded against to the ones who drive out his patience and make him want to walk off the moment they step into a room. Rivals would also be fun to keep some competition for him and though he might hate it, anyone willing to bother him, be it friendly nuisance to annoying pestering. He'll enjoy the company of those who are similarly quiet like him and dog lovers will definitely shoot up in favorability quickly. He's still gruff at times, but he's definitely softened to make things easier, so I'd like to have him form new bonds and relationships so he can continue to open up more.

As for what he can offer, he may not be the most "comforting" character type, but he can provide good support and loyalty to those he considers allies and friends. As he's on the older side, he's also good as an older mentor or "brother" figure, and he does have a soft spot for young kids while ready to clock anyone being stupid. He's also a good partner for any missions or combat oriented scenarios.

Cidolfus Telamon | Final Fantasy XVI | Corsair

Character: Cidolfus Telamon, aka Cid
Canon: Final Fantasy XVI, post-A Crystal's Curse
Armada: Corsair

About: For those who aren't familiar with this version of Final Fantasy's "Cid," he's one of the older characters who leads a group of outlaws working to change the world's current system in treating magic users, making a name for himself as an outlaw in doing so. The Dominant of Ramuh, he's capable of using and turning into the Eikon Ramuh himself. Goodnatured, friendly, classic rogue, with enough wit and Dad jokes to help lighten any heavy situation. With his experience and endless worldly wisdom, he's the perfect mentor for any young lad who is going through a self-identity crisis and angst. Oh that's just Clive—but he can be a mentor or father figure for anyone who needs it, too. He is also a brilliant inventor and bit of an engineer. There will definitely be spoilers since he'll be after a certain canon point. I usually try not to reference canon events with non-castmates, but I'll be sure to mark them just in case. Between castmates, well, read those threads at your own risk— Spoilers, spoilers everywhere. For more info, he has a profile sheet here.

Abilities: Pretty much all things lightning for this old man. He'll have his canon movesets as well as me being a bit creative because well we only see a limited set and the tattoo will allow him some more creativity. He can semi-prime and turn all purple to have access to even stronger attacks, and then he can prime into the Eikon Ramuh himself. But due to nerfing, when he primes into Ramuh he'll be very tiny at first until he gains more power and control and all that. Even that will require an emotional trigger so IT'LL BE A WHILE. He'd only use this an absolute last resort regardless.

BONUS SUMMON OPTION: If there are ever any characters who can summon Ramuh, especially in other Final Fantasy casts, you can have Cid appear instead.

PLANS

General: The man should go on vacation but does he? No. Fortunately this month there isn't too much planned with Cid as he has mostly been working on pushing out those new inventions.

MANTA Board: I'll have a catchall log that's mostly covering the Beta Testers quest hopefully over the weekend, but I'll also toss in a couple of others. Note about the Beta Testers, you don't to use my log or have Cid! Can always assume he did whatever he needed and have your own threads!

• Only Scale Deep. Cid has a bit of personal interest in these fish and will be trying to find and bring them to safer waters (closer to the Roost in particular for any crewmates who'd like to help).
  
• Infiltrate and Liberate. If anyone ever wanted to experience with Cid was like back in his Lord Commander days, here's your chance! As well as maybe touch on some of his personal past and feelings 👀 A good opportunity to learn a bit more about him. And totally not me being kind of mean to him, nope.
  
• Underwater Ruins. Having helped with the goop clean up, he's still curious about what all is in there.
  
• Whale Helpers. Tentative, but interested!

Also open to other plotting!

Event: I will most likely be topleveling and may try to keep it simple. I say and it never works out that way—

CR Dreams: ANYTHING. I'm really interested in exploring Cid more through other relationships, especially when helping others or having someone else poke at him. He's always carrying things on his shoulders and he could use more people bothering him to not do that. Cid can make CR with anyone, and he can be an annoying rival or enemy depending who they are. He will always have a soft heart towards kids and young adults, so if anyone needs a father figure or mentor, he's a good candidate! Characters that are also into the tech, engineering, or sciences will also pique his interest.

You can be sure that Tadashi is going to help test things and take lots of notes. He's also going to be doing the Disguise and Deliverance quest so do you have a preference on one or the other, or both?

HMMMMMMM i'm always up for more tinkering but it would be neat if we could do the infiltration one...somehow. I guess technically either could help the other side. Particularly Cid, he could probably pass as a Paladin butler LMFAO just not sure how to get him there

Always room to handwave the tinkering, because I'm sure that Cid will get an opportunity to meet Baymax should the Hamada bros join his crew with the walking marshmallow. Maybe he's tracking an escaped ship with cargo to the mansion?

Yeah that's what I was thinking would be a decent angle. Following up a lead. Should he already have met with Tadashi before? If the brothers really do join and are in the same crew or at least hanging out they might be able to coordinate something beforehand if that's easier than happenstance meeting.

If Cid lets Sherlock test out the coffee machine, he will have the most in-depth report back on how it works. Sherlock will also be literally buzzing with caffeine after. Do not let him take it home. He will find a way to vibrate into another dimension or at least cause some medical emergency if that happens.

I totally want more CR development between these two so I'd love for him to just be a nuisance helping in the beta testing or maybe they could go on an adventure and dress up as Paladin officers infiltrating these pesky ships.
