Our CR Meme CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Sorey l Tales of Zestiria l Paladin

CHARACTER INFO

Character: Sorey
Canon: Tales of Zestiria, canon point being that he is taken from earlier on when he passes out with the fight against Heldalf and is taken back to Rose and the gang's ruins base.
Armada: Paladin

About: Sorey is the most sheltered and oblivious seventeen year old who was raised among seraphim (elemental spirits) who basically leaves his village and goes on a journey to try support relations between the seraphim and the humans and to save his world from Malevolence (like a negative energy that can corrupt sort of deal). His bff is a water seraphim named Mikleo and it is honestly a miracle Sorey has survived in this game as long as he has without his water bff. Mikleo grounds him and is basically 99% of Sorey's impulse control with how reckless he can be.

His thing is that he can armatize or basically ala fusion in Dragonball, with the seraphim in his party to help him fight and make use of and control their different elements.

I have his app and more info in his journal if anyone is curious and has yet to get through Zestiria.

Abilities:

Shepherd:

As the Shepherd, I'm going to try umbrella this since it covers a few things:

Armatization - being able to channel the seraphs in the party and use this to their advantage in combat. Combining into one (the seraphs using Sorey's body as a vessel) and thus granting Sorey access to their Seraphic Artes (using their particular element that seraphim is attuned to, out of fire, water, earth or wind) in combat along with their particular Divine Weapon. This does take time initially for him to adjust to in willing it to finish however, but he does eventually come able to revert back to himself at will.

Resonance - Ability to see and hear seraphim, potentially other supernatural beings most other normal humans cannot usually sense, due to his having been brought up among seraphim back home at Elysia. Think of it as like some sort of spiritual sense. Along with this is his ability to sense Malevolence, which is sort of like a dark energy that makes him feel ill, tight in the chest. It's basically a big part of his whole 'purity' thing, really. His resonance is what allows him to become the Shepherd, basically, because he can see and hear Lailah in order to make a pact with her. This pact is what allows him to thus be able to purify the hellions. He can manage animal or plant based hellions fine, but humanized hellions, according to expanded information in the anime, means Sorey takes on their Malevolence.

Pacts - Sorey can make a pact with another human with resonance to take them on as a Squire. A Squire can essentially also assist in purifying hellions and help the Shepherd on their journey, basically. Acting as a support to them along the way and assisting them in carrying out their duties to deal with the hellions. If the Squire has a high enough resonance, such as Rose in the game, they can also then armatize with the seraphim once they have made their pact and been given a True Name by the Shepherd. In Sorey and Rose's case, if something happens to the Shepherd, the Squire can thus make a pact to take on their role in turn too.

- History/Ruins Knowledge - Sorey is really keen on this sort of stuff and grew up wanting to explore ruins and learn about history so this is kind of his Thing. He and Mikleo are all about geeking out over ruins together. So he will easily pick up on this sort of thing in Incensed's setting and all.

- Fighting/Hunting ability - Sorey has a sword and can use a bow when hunting as well, so he can fight/defend himself or go hunting for meat for example if he has to with these basic survival skills.

PLANS

General: Sorey is part of Cid's crew and is the biggest history nerd so is always up for exploring (maybe finding ruins!!!!) and helping out in general. He is the kind that can't really say no. He is also trying to learn more in general about things with this world and learning about and meeting everyone to work together. Because that helps in not being as clueless and sheltered a country bumpkin.

MANTA Board: Maybe Tonberry????? It looks so cute??? Okay yeah it has a knife but. Look at it????

CR Dreams: Sorey needs a Mikleo stand in lbr. It's a miracle idk how he has survived this long without his water bff that is 99% of his impulse control. Also if anyone wants to take advantage of how gullible/sheltered he is because he p much mostly just rolls with everything/believes people for the most part. Because country bumpkin was hella sheltered growing up with the seraphim.

Emet-Selch | Final Fantasy XIV | Paladin

About: Short of the actual gods, Emet-Selch is one of the most powerful adversaries the Warrior of Light faces in FF14. To the average mortal/human, he WOULD be considered one - however, he considers himself a regular man and he lives and dies the same way (even if said life is practically indefinite). Amongst his own people, he was known as a powerful and competent mage with particularly sharp Soulsight: the ability to perceive things at the aetherial level.

As an individual, he's rather solitary and standoffish and doesn't make friends easily. But he cares more than he lets on.

Abilities: As Emet-Selch doesn't have access to Creation magicks here in Escordvi, he's simply just a powerful mage. This ranges from the typical elemental spells to healing spells to more esoteric things like aether-imbued weapon arts. He can also transform into a boss form second form, but here it's restricted by intense emotion.

I've had a packed weekend so I'm a bit behind but I'll be putting up a log post for the quests listed below! I'm looking into whether Emet can get his basic creation magic back (primarily to help Rem but--) so if that's successful then I'll have a prompt with him using that.

Ryotaro Dojima | Persona 4 Golden | Paladin

Armada: Paladin but on a Corsair team.

About: Ryotaro Dojima is a police detective from the small Japanese town of Inaba. 'Hardboiled' a term thrown around to describe him, stoic also fitting the bill pretty well on most counts. He takes his job protecting the peace and solving crimes in the small rural town seriously, to the point he's something of a workaholic. Upon meeting him, someone may take his near permanent furrow of his brows as a sign he's a total hardass, unyeilding and uncompromising, and to a point, they're right. He does not suffer fools, and will call out idiocy or people slacking off when he sees them, especially his ex-junior partner when they worked together. He's got his vices that keeps him going, the amazing trio of cigarettes, coffee and alcohol that sometimes you can smell on his person, though he does try to go easier on the last one nowadays.

That hardassness is only part of him, of course. Another part is an awkward tenderness of a man who never learned how to easily express his compassionate nature, so it comes out in fits and starts of someone trying and fumbling his way, especially in regards to his young daughter and nephew. Unlike some people in Inaba, he's not one prone to believing gossip and rumours, and will try to help people in subtle ways. Recognizing the local delinquent's good intentions in his rough and tumble antics and defending a young detective's skills despite her youth, its clear he firmly believes in giving people second chances.

Over all he's a well meaning, if gruff 40 something year old who just wants to help people how he feels he can. He's currently on the Corsair crew'd ship, the Raiders of the Lost Arts, because Turo joined them and Dojima didn't want this seemingly naive guy to get roped into what he more or less thought of as Pirate Yakuza types.

Abilities: Dojima is a completely normal human; unlike the teenagers in the Persona series (and like, two adults post Persona 2 Duology?), he never got the chance to develop a Persona. He does have police training, including fire arms, martial arts training for subduing criminals non-lethally, and is an experienced detective with modern forensics, though definitely not say, teenage genius or legendary fictional character level.

He does have Metal Elemental Powers, and has gotten better at manipulating metal to disarm others or form weapons/armour for himself. Still not great at it, but progress is progress?

PLANS

General: After Turo got hurt in an incident he's been keeping close by, and will more than likely keep an eye on him. Otherwise he's investigating as per usual, keeping an eye out for younger folks around and to see if his nephew is still around.

MANTA Board: LIFE IN COLOUR, SNAXBURG SECRETS, ONLYFANGS (yes he's a paladin BUT I HAVE WEREWOLF DOJIMA ICONS, SUE ME), EVERYBODY'S GRUDGE.

I'd love to have Dojima investigate the Life in Colour quest (I love ib i love ib i love ib), and he'll probably be following Turo to keep an eye on him while the Professor takes his notes. And try not to think about the living burger walking around...

Event: Mer-Dojima. Shark with teef. Not sure if I'll top level or only tag out. But I will never turn down a chance to follow my merfolk hyperfixation.

CR Dreams: Please give me all the delinquent, sad teenagers/Persona Users/you are way too young to have responsibility like this people for Dojima to fuss over. Along with Detectives/normies to commiserate over this world just not working with proper logic!!

So I did have the funny thought of Sidestep following Dojima around and just like. Intentionally reading his thoughts to figure out what his deal was. Turo or Dojima could've definitely mentioned Dojima was a cop/detective, and of course Sidestep is protective of his fellow not-really-human friend, so like.

Following Dojima around to see what he gets up to, and then also hear what he thinks, and he gets all these deets about Dojima's life he hasn't even entirely told Turo, and also the realization of how Dojima doesn't even consider Turo anything but another person, but his real concern is like; I come from a culture who looks down on men being with other men, how would this affect my job/my daughter in Inaba? what does that mean about me?

Because Dojima is struggling with it, but it's not something he's blaming Turo for, it's himself/society.

About: Background Info Here! Short version is that Amelia is an old lady witch at heart and will do things begrudgingly. She's friendlier than advertised, I promise, she's just not into nonsense (despite causing some of it herself.

Abilities: Amelia has extremely powerful magic that allows her to cast a lot of phenomena (1000 years worth of it in fact)! I'm still brainstorming with the tattoos but for now, she just has a basic set that allows access to her magic, but with less effectiveness.

PLANS

General: Short term plans is to make more friends and just be comfortable being in a setting where she doesn't have to hide her true nature all the time. She's got a temper even though she tries to be dry and neutral so it's kinda easy to get on her nerves so maybe exploring that might be good.

Event: I'll just tag out so that I can build CR and generally get my feet wet since I'm new to the game and super open to most things!

CR Dreams: Honestly, as a high school teacher, I want CR with teens if only so she can grandma at them and give them practice homework. The learning as a teacher never ends!!

but the tl;dr is he is a master thief who enjoys the challenge of a good heist. He started stealing for survival, but as he's honed his craft, it's become just as much about the thrill of it as it is about getting by. He's not the friendliest guy and is still working on working through his trauma, but he has a good heart and wants to believe in trust and sentimentality and all that mushy stuff. He can be a sarcastic asshole, but he's not malicious. Being in a weird new place has put him back on the defensive and suspicious, though.

Abilities: non-tattoo things: stealing, heisting, stabbing, and related skills. He's very good at disguise and acting, as well as pickpocketing / sleight of hand / misdirection kinda stuff.
tattoo granted things: setting things on fire!, stealing HP & SP health & energy from enemies, sharing energy with friends allies

I have been contemplating him figuring out how to access one or more subjob here via additional tattoo or like... talking to the octopus more, at least. (Octopath Traveler, for the unfamiliar, is a job-based JRPG where each traveler has a base job and then can equip a gods-given subjob. It's not unlike the Bravely Default series or certain Final Fantasy games and so on in that respect. And as we all know, the job that gives the character the best costume is unequivocally the best one for them--)

BUT EVEN MORE THAN THAT.... listen Therion is gonna wanna learn about if you can make yourself invisible here or use magic to fly or levitate objects or . You know, useful thief things. :3 He is always eager to improve his craft --

General: I would like this scrunkly cat of a man to make friends with people against his will and continue to work on his trust issues. But also just... adventure!! I wanna get him involved in stealing things. Maybe getting caught. Maybe breaking out of jail. Maybe helping others break out of jail. Maybe giving a ted talk on how to break out of jail. But also just nonsense adventures. Weird sidequests.

MANTA Board: MAID DAY MAYDAY - please i want this. i will find a way to make it happen. Therion canonically if we're counting the gacha prequel Champions of The Continent can rock a dress and is a convincing actor, and I am delighted by any excuse to make it happen.
Whatever floats your boat - Therion would absolutely be here for the reward. Always handy (pun intended) to have additional places to hide things :3

Event: OK so this month is going to be quite chaotic for me due to some renovation & repair work being done around the house, so I am probably just going to tag around for now! but i am open to planning things?

About: ren is just your average regular teenager who leads a group who fights corruption and messed up people by night! ain't that just the way. he leads a group called the phantom thieves who use their ability to enter a cognitive world to change people for the better and help those the world may have missed or forgotten. before this, however, he was convicted for assault due to helping a woman who was being harassed thanks to the corrupt police and political situation. he was sent on probation and managed to do well in school and finish his probationary period along with shooting several gods in the face! nice.

Abilities: his canon abilities include sort of a Lot, but right now all he has is his own persona, Raul, who has access to dark magic and sleep magic. i'd love for him to gain more persona as time goes on because he's a wildcard that gains persona from his relationships, so... how fun would it be to get persona from his relationships in game!!

as for tattoo i'm super into the idea of him getting skills that sort of debuff enemies, and support those around him. so that's where he's at with his dark tattoo abilities; maybe sleep or lowered defense or attack or something.

About: Dion is everything you want in a prince. He's well mannered and comes across as very aristocratic, although despite this he does his best to help people in need. He's genuinely kind to most people, although he definitely has a temper that he can't quite keep a lid on.

Abilities: Dion is the dominant of Bahamut, which means he has light magic - but beyond that he's also a dragoon. This man can jump like nobody's business.

PLANS

General: In general I'm struggling a bit with Dion, so I would love to make some new plans, reinvigorate my love for him a bit. Give me a hand?
MANTA Board: He's up for Everyday I'm Brusselin', Ruffeo and Mewliet and Serenity Illuminated.
Event: I'm definitely open to exploring the world under the sea, and outside of that considering Garuda is causing all the damage, he's willing to work at repairing some of it.

About: Toge is a mostly pleasant, cheerful kind of guy who is constantly misunderstood due to the fact he can't speak normally. He's quiet and a little shy, he's a bit of a prankster although he tends to keep it away from anything that can actually be painful to someone. He speaks in riceball language, but fortunately the shellphone has text to speech for him. He's newly the recipient of an empty left sleeve courtesy of his canon update. His hobbies are cooking and gardening.

Abilities: Toge has the power of cursed speech. This means that he can compel people to do whatever he says. He utters a command and things happen, thanks to his cursed energy. He's got a massive trade off to that, in that it harms him greatly the more he uses it. Accidental discharge of cursed energy includes things like laughter where a character might feel inclined to join it.

His tattoo has granted him ice powers, and while he's actually decently strong there he hasn't really explore his potential too much. Mostly he's been keeping the icebox cool to avoid food perishing.

Event: I'm always thrilled to do things with Toge for the event. He's a bit sluggish thanks to you know, dropping off a lot of blood in Shibuya, but he wouldn't mind the opportunity to get his mind off of things. I hope if he goes mermaid he can swim unlike his current self who is hopeless in that area. (I'm sure he'll learn)
