ENABLE ME TIMBERS: FEBRUARY 2024

YO HO HO EVERYONE! This is an ATP/EMP post where players can make cast requests for people to app into, or make ads for characters they are considering bringing into the game. It works like any other ATP/EMP, but we do have a few things to note down:

» Invitations are required to reserve and apply! But you can go ahead and post to the ATP/EMP post with a note you need an invite. You can either rely on a current player for help, or you can directly request an invite from the mods.

» We have a 65 player cap.

» Players can only app 2 characters at once with a max limit of 3 in game. But since this is an ATP/EMP, feel free to put more if you're having trouble deciding!

» Our Game Info should cover everything you need, from basic premise summary to the nitty gritty details of the game mechanics. If you have any questions, post them there.

» Just want to make it clear that this is not a claims page. While we give priority to whoever is on the Reserve list, we do allow app challenges, and there is no rule against multiple players TDMing the same character. Of course we don't want there to be too much conflict, so everyone please be polite no matter who it is.

» TDM is Saturday, February 10th. This TDM will double as our Dragon's Gale, but we will include a traditional "starter prompt" for TDM specific characters. Everything will be carried over as canon!

» Reservations open Friday, February 23rd.

» Applications open Friday, March 1st.

Dongfang Qingcang's plantwife - or future wife. Orchard is a kind and friendly flower spirit/fairy who accidentally placed a spell on the big badass of the show and then helped unleash him back into the world. Everything she feels, every wound she gets - he also technically does as well, thus tying their lives together. She has origins that are unknown to her, having believed herself to be a nameless orchid spirit with very little power. She grew up alone and bullied until Dongfang (first called Daqiang by her) appears in her life, at which point, she begins her journey from a naïve and lonely spirit into a strong, confident woman willing to do what it takes to be with the person she loves. Their story is essentially a rendition of the Hades & Persephone myth, so yes, there was kidnapping involved.

I will be taking her from further into the series than Dongfang - episode 26 - after she's had some very significant character development, but there is always more room for her to grow in Escordvi. It will be surprising that he doesn't remember so many things, but she will be surprised, happy, and proud of the development Daqiang has made without her pulling him along. ^_^

Orchid is not all that powerful in comparison to... basically almost everyone in her canon. Her immortal root was damaged (her true self also sealed away), but a few of her abilities are plant-based, so please allow her to take care of your plants. Or talk to your plants. She makes tasty flower cakes, and will be getting dragged to the Phantom Moon at some point (timing of it will be decided on later since Dongfang is under another curse and may not notice her right away).

GRANBLUE FANTASY

They may not be sailing the skies, but what better game to have various members of the vast skydom causing chaos and mayhem either on their own or in other groups? Seeing any of the cast would be fun here, there are a lot of possibilities and opportunities for pretty much all of the character types. Or seeing Gran or Djeeta trying to form their own skyseafaring crew!

As for Eustace, he's a Corsair as a mercenary, but would definitely love any other Society members!

Tiny bird street urchin turned weapons manufacturer/smuggler, Yua is the baby adopted sister of Rin (maiestas)! Her role is mostly to help arm the resistance in their world, along with... ""borrowing"" weapons from the otherside to use and upgrade as she pleases. She can make way better things anyway!

Yua isn't much of a fighter, though she can use some magic and whatever she makes, and vastly prefers to talk her way out of situations. She's confident and outgoing, but also likes being a shitty gremlin and bantering with people - but if she likes you, she's unshakably loyal. Still might be a shitty gremlin though.

Lloyd's a good guy to have on your team. He's supportive and resourceful, an experienced fighter, and he admits his mistakes. He has dwarven crafting experience and his dream has been to build his own boat and sail around the world! So being a pirate should be exciting for him!

…For maybe an entire day, if you're lucky. Everything I said before is absolutely true, but once something isn't novel he'll be completely over it because he has a bad att Oh, he does stay focused on stuff that's actually important. But he's also kind of an idiot. He fights with two swords because he thought that would make him twice as strong.

I'd go over his goals, but those can vary slightly depending on his canon point and I'm not sure where I'd have that yet, either. That's what enabling is for though, right?

It's been a good decade since I've used him, so I hope I wouldn't be too rusty?

FINAL FANTASY XIV

Time to get an early jumpstart on adventuring and sailing the seas before Dawntrail hits this summer. Surely both heroes and foes alike deserve some rest and relaxation with quests and curses and all of the DELIGHTFUL content in game.

Bring me Nimona boys! It doesn't matter if they're movie-based or comic-based, I live for chaotic shenanigans. Ballister and Ambrosia are dating in the movie! But Nimona has unfinished business with Ballister that I'd love to explore, and get her to know Ambrosia outside of being on the other end of his sword. They'd fit in very well with the Paladins, working to protect people! Or toss Ballister on the Corsairs for fun problems, be the voice of reason for those people! Or to be their "evil scientist". :3

That said, I would accept anyone from Nimona - Thoddeus Sureblade, Meredith Blitzmeyer... or anyone else from the comic. Come see that Nimona is part of a Paladin crew, and behaving like the good little dragon we all know she is deep down inside. She has found a makeshift family with the FFVII cast!

Just think, you are an hour and 40 minutes away from knowing all you need to know about the movie versions of the other two main characters! You could join Nimona "And tonight's the night we knight the knights!"

Well. Sort of?

This version of Napoleon is actually the Idealize, Idolized Napoleon his Cult of Personality believed in given human form. More like a superhero than anything like the actual person, he's a Heroic Spirit summoned from the Throne of Heroes who answers to peoples wishes, and will make the impossible, possible. Taller, kinder and far more gregarious than the original man, he strives to help people of the present and future than focus on the past successes or failures of the original Napoleon's life. He's very aware of everything Napoleon did, but doesn't actually know how the original Napoleon felt about those actions, and while he'll carry the weight of those decisions, won't pretend he knows the mind of his past self. Think of it like the difference of having the records of what you did compared to the memories of experiencing them yourself, that's how it works for some servants.

He's an Archer Class Servant thanks to Napoleon's love of artillery, but if he was summoned as a Rider class, he'd have access to his 'Grande Armee', be shorter and far closer in personality to the original man.

Being a Fate/Nasuverse Servant, he comes with some special skills and abilities, like being for the most part unable to be hurt by regular human means, but affected by magic/magecraft.

So say you try to stab him with a dagger; it'd probably bounce off him like it's rubber. Now try to stab him with an enchanted dagger, and it'd actually effect him/could draw blood. He also doesn't require food or sleep, though many Servants use it to keep themselves feeling 'human' and stabilized, and he's definitely one of them. But of course these are totally things I'd be willing to nerf to some degree for fun, since 'incarnating' is a thing if Fate after all, returning to a more human like state instead of being made of ether/mana/whatever term Nasu is using this time, goddamnit.

Basically, he's an Idolized version of a deadman brought to life with superpowers who's decided to use his power to help those who live today and make their wishes come true. A true bro of a Himbo here to help!

The perpetually tired 24-year-old Kingdom Hearts Disney Machine version of Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII.

He's technically a different version entirely from the original Squall Leonhart and comes from a world called Radiant Garden but the fundamentals of his personality are very much the same. He's a serious-talking and hardened leader but has a kind heart and genuinely worries for people. He can be brutally honest, withdrawn and introverted but when he smiles it really means something special. He likes dogs.

He would know various alternative versions of a few Final Fantasy characters such as Tifa, Aerith and Cloud. He would also come with almost the exact same skillset as Squall Leonhart. But since he's older and more mature he wouldn't be as emotionally constipated as Squall can be. Sometimes.

I am technically at the character cap so I might not actually be able to app him but I want to do what I want anyway!!

Silent protagonist of Persona 3, which just released a remake yesterday so now he's in HD glory (I recommend playing it). A quiet teen with a bit a nihilistic streak that got better within the year he was given. Joined a school club called SEES, Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad, a totally normal club that happens to operate during the hidden 25th hour of every day fighting negative emotions called Shadows. See, totally normal. Also, the world my come to an end. No big deal.

Oh, and he shoots himself in the head with a pretend gun to unleash the personification of his psyche and it happens to be both Orpheus and Thanatos. Also, Wild Duck Burger is his favorite place to eat. Are there burgers here?

Tighnari is probably one of the most terrifying of the Sumeru characters. He is well known in his field of study and is someone who can definitely kill someone, hide a body, and no one would ever know. Tighnari is someone who is very kind and gentle, yes, but he is also someone who says that he will pin something to someone's forehead so that they'll get the point. This fox is very no-nonsense and the first character we see that doesn't immediately trust the Traveler and Paimon, essentially mother henning them and telling them to get the heckie out of his forest.

He's super dedicated to his job and to the people around him. Tighnari also has a thing for mushrooms - as in testing their properties via ingesting them - and conservation in general. If the man has a weakness, it would probably be extreme heat because of his dark hair and fur. Then there's also Cyno's jokes. They're painful.

Clearly he should come here to yank both Haitham and Kaveh around by the ears. I thought that maybe he could open up a clinic as well.

Alfyn is a ray of pure sunshine in human form cheerful and dedicated apothecary from a small town in the Riverlands - exactly what that name sounds like - who is on a journey around his world to become a better apothecary and to help anyone he possibly can along the way. (He didn't say this in so many words but he has a kind heart and this is what it became.) While he's learned quite a lot more than he already knew about concocting medicine and taking care of people...well, there's always more out there to find out!

He likes people. He has a habit of helping someone who's hurting and not charging for his services - following in the footsteps of someone in his past who once did the same for him, a poor sick kid in a river village. Sometimes his country upbringing makes itself known in a shucks or similar.

While his satchel and its contents are his prized possessions, he can do some handy work with an axe, and knows a bit of ice magic and healing. He does not know sailing, though he's been on a sailboat before.

Hi, I'm Avie, and I'm looking to join the crew if all things go to plan. Sherry will be coming post SHTA which means he's in real rough shape but not worrying about leaving Watson behind in a dangerous place 24/7 at least. He could either be a Paladin who follows his own moral code, F the cops I'm locking picking the door, and letting the "criminal" go free, or a Corsair who has a strong moral code, writes these things down, and let me study this before you break it! Paladin does have his not-exactly!brother and his not-exactly!brother's not!boyfriend are there.

For those who don't know this iteration of Sherlock Holmes, he's what you get when a relatively real world mystery game protag gets genre shifted into a supernatural horror game. Sherlock is only 23 and hasn't done any cases he's known for. He is still trying to get his consulting detective gig going after the mess that was Cordona. He's more emotional, insecure, inexperienced, and younger than your average Holmes and lives in a world filled with references to the ACD and other Frogwares' stories without having lived them himself yet. His two games skirt the 4th wall, and it leaves him questioning what's real or if he's going mad. Also, SHTA is a Sherlock Holmes game and a Lovecraftian game, which means Cthulhu awakening is a real threat and Sherry and Watson go through a lot together. He really needs a good night's rest without nightmares of The Horrors, hugs, and some less world-ending cases to solve.

... He also canonically is afraid of water, can't swim, and gets sea sick. Anyone who can give him a remedy from getting sea sick will have his thanks. (Please help.)

Persona 3's legendary Best Friend character to the Protag has arrived! Junpei is the class clown and mood maker for S.E.E.S., the 'normal guy' among a team of monster slaying teenagers looking to solve the mystery of the 'Dark Hour', a 25th hour of the day only a few people experience! Able to summon Persona, Junpei fights with a long sword (that he uses like a baseball bat), fire magic and heavy hitting physical crits! He'll do his best to make you smile, but is also prone to bouts of low self confidence and lack of self worth. Lacking in book smarts, he makes up with social savvy and a strong intuition. He's also pretty genre savvy too, loving video games, manga, anime and American hero movies.

This version of Junpei would more than likely be from Persona 3 Portable, since his social link gives him a lot more to work off of, and I don't have Reload yet. I'd also be taking him from post ending since that's when he's at his most developed as a character.

A mercenary who lives free and to the fullest. Despite her for-hire occupation, Dehya has a strong sense of righteousness. Money is important, but not so important that she'll go against her beliefs. She tempers her friendliness to people with a shrewd awareness of the dangers of other people, has an undying loyalty to her people and her friends, is incredibly sharp-minded, but has a quick temper. She to her friends she's incredibly giving, but shy about having that recognized.

She comes from the desert, and those that come from there have historically been disenfranchised by the rainforest side of Sumeru (which also holds essentially the main government and the seat of their god). But despite the limited opportunities as a result of that prejudice, Dehya feels real pride for the mercenary work and uses her resources and skills to turn around and support other people from the desert in turn. Though now that she's helped overthrow the government (as you do), things are moving in a more positive and equitable direction for everyone in Sumeru.

Also a big makeup fan.

Tenatively dusting off my girl here (thanks 2.0 update)! Natasha is a doctor from Belobog's Underworld, running the only clinic in Boulder Town, as well as the orphanage that once raised her as a child. Adopted into an Overwold family noted for their medical prowess, Natasha found her own medical vocation in life. She's a trusted and respected pillar of Boulder Town society.

She is also secretly the leader of Wildfire, the peacekeeping force that keeps watch over the Underground after the Overworld shut down passage between the upper and lower areas of the city. With her colleague Oleg acting as frontman for all ventures, Natasha works from the shadows, both as strategist and diplomat, keeping her fingers on the pulse - literal and figurative - of her Underground home and its people.

Coming in from a frozen planet, she's used to extreme temperatures, and is willing to make deals with whoever is necessary in order to obtain the medicines her patients need. No-nonsense and trsutworthy, you don't mess with a woman who casually swings around a grenade launcher as her weapon of choice.

The main character of 'The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog', an official game released for April Fools' Game that is actually good???? This silly is Barry, the Naegi of Sonic characters. They started off the game as a new employee on the Mirage Express, and got roped into playing Watson to Tails' Sherlock during a murder mystery party that turned a little less party and a lot more 'murder': The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (dun dun dun...) Barry assisted Tails in solving the totally legit and tragic murder of the blue blur, putting their best skills to the test. These skills include:
-Microwaving
-Beatboxing
-Digging through trash for evidence (after all; there's always clues in the trash)
-Playing the Game Gear to think
-Being a silly little dork

They're a little easily overwhelmed by colorful casts of characters, despite their own quirks. So why not throw them into a world of colorful casts of characters and upgrade from microwaving meister to pirate microwaving meister?

There is something in the water.

She was a girl, once. Nothing more, and nothing less; a mute girl, certainly, but a girl like any other. Grace's adoptive parents did not raise a girl, though. They raised a god, no matter how much their daughter tried to protest, to deny it. She had no voice to cry out, and no ear bent to listen. Her village needed a god - her consent was not required.

There is something in the water, and it is not dead.

At nineteen, her village turned on Grace. False god, they called her, and deceiver. They shattered her body and threw her into a mountain lake to appease the god they had abandoned, and the god of the lake found their behavior repugnant. He reached out to Grace in her dying moments, and granted her wish for revenge; the village is no more, gone, and done, and silent, and not even the frogs still live there.

There is something in the water, and it is not a thing living.

Grace doesn't remember how she and the god of the lake came to the Manor, and came to be bound to its death games. Time, space, both fuzz at the edges in her thoughts, in her dreams...but she didn't like it, much. One life that was never hers, taken away, and now her new existence stolen before it could really begin. The so-called Naiad is desperate for a chance to figure out who she is and wants to be, to see the world - really, any world will do - to meet people who will hear her, and listen to her. She's a bit feral. She's very autistic. She does not have words to describe either of these things. But she's excited to meet you! Mind your personal space. Grace sure won't.

She was a girl, once. Nothing more, and nothing less. Give her a chance to figure out what she is now?

Pure Vanilla is his canons equivalent of a Jesus-like figure; the epitome of all that is good and pure, a Paragon of peace, who works towards a future where no Cookie has to worry about crumbling away. To that end, though he knows many forms of magic and will utilize them if need be, he prefers to only work with Healing magic - shielding his companions from harm, or closing their wounds.

He's a very cheerful, kind-hearted, happy little individual who has his own inner demons he fights with. Plus maybe still a little naive in his idealistic way of thinking, as he believes everyone has the capacity to love and do good.

He's also something like a good 1000+ years old and an actual Grandpa at heart. Maybe was once a King. Also might hold tremendous powers from the Light of Truth in his Souljam, which is that blue gem on his clothes. Listen, don't worry about it, he just wants to heal, shield, and make sure you're fed and have an ear to talk to.

CLOTTED CREAM COOKIE

Clotted Cream is the Consul of the Crème Republic. He was elected to the position - and is, in fact, the youngest Cookie to have accomplished such - and represents all that the Republic stands for. Which, of course, means that he has to appear perfect in every way, so everything from his words right down to his smile and the way he dresses is carefully cultivated to put forth the best impression. He's one of those types that you can rarely actually read just because he has such tight control over how he appears to others.

He's a very ambitious Cookie with the best interests of his fellow Cookies at heart, and goes to great lengths to accomplish his goals. Ultimately, he wants all Cookies of the Republic - and those outside of the Republic, as well - to be able to live safely and happily. With the threat of Dark Enchantress Cookie looming on the horizon, that's easier said than done, though. Because of this urgency, some of the lengths he's gone to have come off as overly confident or even a bit underhanded. But, the ends justify the means.

Beneath all of that, though, is a Cookie that has been carefully groomed by his adoptive father since youth to basically make his adoptive House look good and become even more powerful, with next to no regard for what he actually wants. At least he recognizes that his father's desire to gain more and more power by using him as a pawn is noooooot great, and he does eventually bite the hand that feeds.

This is a fun and cute game about Cookies! Totally!

Paladin is so perfect for him that it's almost painful. He's used to mediating groups that live side by side with tense relations, his unique ability is the ability to create a cage of Light which he uses to imprison criminals, and the Republic is host to a whole fleet of anti-piracy ships headed by one of the council Elders. But it's really the setting in combination with his own personal situation that's drawn me in the most! Now that he's finally out from beneath his adoptive father's yoke, what will he do? How will the setting cause him to develop differently than he might in canon? Will he stick with the armada he's assigned to? I'm itching to find these things out!
