Ahoy, mateys! Here be the monthly Activity Check!

NOTE: This month's activity check is CHECK-IN ONLY. Players are not required to submit any proof, but must still comment to this post to check-in and remain in the game.

Players who provide full activity of one thread (minimum 5 comments) will be granted one player-bound free pass to use at any point in 2024. Please note the rules on free passes here.

In the Extra Notes section, please note the following:

• Any characters who faced off against the Pirat King.
  
• Any NPC toys that were saved.
  
• Bite-sized Blessings: what was done with the dragon (taken to Elah, Nogard, elsewhere?)
  
• Magitech Madness: any notes on findings.
  
• Untitled Goose Bounty: whether the goose was defeated and how.

Please check our Activity Check guidelines on our Game Info page for complete details, but here is the quick list of what you need to know:

» Only threads dated from December 1st through December 31st count towards the month's activity. (With the exception of certain backdated threads, read the linked AC guidelines for more details.)

» Activity requires one thread of at least 5 comments. The comment count is from your character.

» Any thread counts, including those made within your own entries and subthreads within your own toplevels. Individual entry posts do not count, only the threads within the posts. TDM threads with non-game characters will count.

» Continuation threads are considered as part of the previous thread so they count as one thread not two. For the sake of ease, we would like the two threads linked together.

» You are exempt from any checks for hiatuses that last for over 21 days. Anything less and you'll still need to submit your AC unless there are other circumstances.

» Because we are a capped game, there is no strike system. If you do not make the AC requirements, you will be cut.

» Bonus AC points: All extra non-quest threads not used for AC will be worth 2 extra points that can be used for reward redemption. Please check our Rewards page for more details.

There will be no warnings. All submissions are due Sunday, December 31st 11:59PM US Eastern.

EXTRA FIELDS: This is not required and completely optional, but included in the submission form are two optional fields: Extra and MANTA Board Posting.

For the Extra field, this is just a space for players to note anything that occurred in their threads that they think might be fun for us to know. So if something particularly interesting happened (for example: discovering a new creature or location, an old artifact, or perhaps a character has stolen something), we highly encourage players to jot them down! Who knows, we may even find a use for it… In addition, we may ask players to submit certain activity related to an event.

You may also submit MANTA board requests to be included in the upcoming board. We will try to add them immediately, otherwise we'll save them for the next Board or a time we deem fitting. If you don't have one in mind at the time of AC, you can post it later to the upcoming Captain's Log announcement.

Though I believe it is inferred and the holidays+other things, he would've been in the raid that murdered it as he was planning to with Moon Supreme the Supremest of Moons in the Moon Kingdom of Supreme Moons. I really love this man.

MANTA Board Posting: Nothing I can think to be honest. Unless there's something to do with a giant shark. That'd be fun as all get out. It doesn't even have to be us fighting it, maybe aiding it finding treasures that it lost/were stolen by upstart teenage squids thinking they're funny. I love sharks when they're nowhere near me and can do nothing but watch me mock their lack of legs from my sandy shore. Please do not add legs to a shark unless this shark-reference is Eijiro Kirishima and he already has legs so you don't gotta mess with that.

Extra:
Magitech Madness: Cid has developed some special lightning based grenades that come into three forms: 1) high voltage explosive that has a large area blast and will cause significant damage similar to be struck by several lightning bolts; 2) a low voltage stun that is meant to briefly stun and paralyze a target and comes in varying sizes depending on the target; 3) a voltage vine cage that creates a cage made of vines with electricity running through it. This last one was developed with Kaveh and is meant to trap and contain targets with the potential to damage and stun those who touch it.

Cid's main purpose with the latter two was to create a non-lethal means to bring down targets, which would be beneficial for dealing with any targets that need to be kept alive. He also intends to continue development that would lead towards something similar to stun guns and other self defense means that the common citizen could carry.

Now with all this, Cid plans to start something of a business venture and will patent his ideas.

Goose bounty: He killed it once with Clive and helped Dongfang's group with his lightning. His grenades were fairly effective, as was his lightning in general since he could hit multiple heads at once. Helped with the whole fire thing to make the goose nice and crispy.

Beta Testers: Cid is developing various new devices and would like to have some volunteers for feedback. Contact him for details.

PET TOYS & SUPPLIES:

• Automatic ball thrower: A device that will take in a ball and will automatically shoot it out. Add a bit of lightning to make it go farther.
• Feather Chaser: A motorized device that will wind up like a top and spin a feather around over the floor.
• Mouse Launcher: Similar to the ball thrower, only with a mouse and with a bit of lightning magic the mouse will "run" over the floor to encourage chase. Attached to an invisible string that will reel the mouse back in.
• Roll Up Yarn Ball: Made of durable cord safe for cats, this "ball of yarn" will extend out as the cat plays with it before automatically rolling back up.
• Foldable Cat Tree: A special cat tree that can fold in a different ways to help fit most spaces as well as change things up to keep cats entertained. (Or fold it into a box.)

MAGITECH DEVICES::

• Non-lethal Electric Type Grenades: All grenades will produce some type of electric based method to stun, paralyze, and/or contain a target. Help test effectiveness: 1) non-lethal stun (medium to large targets); 2) non-lethal cage (medium to large targets); 3) non-lethal electric field (varying area sizes).
• Elemental Net Shooter: A handheld device that will release a net based on the magic element infused by the user. Would like to test the different results from varying elements.

I MAY ADD MORE LATER but this is at least the start. Cid will have a network post that will go up to help explain and give people direct contact. Reward will be monetary payment and receive the final product for free if they so choose.

MANTA Board Posting: I would love some quests to just map things out and cause everyone to sail/explore a bit! Exploration just for the sake of exploration rather than with a treasure goal in mind. Astarion would complain but he'd do it. I think it would be neat since so many ppl have new ships especially.

Daqiang and Professor Turo made their own Stainless Steel; Daqiang and G'raha hunted down a perfect dragonfly; One of the magitech canons got hauled over for offering (thread ongoing) and Daqiang spent a pretty penny on a full five pounds of flawless black jade. Woot!

Special Notes:

Pirat King: faced off against the Pirat King with Rem Tokimiya; Pirat King escaped but the Xylophone was destroyed and the curse lifted!

Bite-sized Blessings: The little biter got taken back to Nogard.

Magitech Madness: (thread in progress but!) Fire magic to power them pairs damn well with metal canonballs - molten metal projectiles are very destructive

Untitled Goose Bounty: Chased the goose off with Benedikta during one fight (thread ongoing, but will be a success, Benedikta chokes a couple necks and Daqiang fries some heads before it runs) and Big Mass Attack near end of month is a success (4 ongoing threads in my Event Toplevel + 6 additional volunteers from Network Call that are assumed to be there); lots of fire, some explosives, a lot of feathers pulled out, all heads cut off and a massive final attack from everyone before they could regrow to seal the wounds. BBQ baby! Daqiang exhausted his power between powering up the fire people and throwing down a firestorm at the end. His body could be seen falling briefly in the smoke and flames before G'raha retrieved him with a spell and carried him off for recovery on the Phantom Moon.

Other Bounties:

Picture of Dorina Grey: Got a picture, got upset by picture, threw picture on floor and stormed out (Rem saved it)

Coins of the Crescent: (thread ongoing) found cache of coins and will give all but one to Nogard healers - keeping one because it could help cure a curse later

A steamy winter's heist: (one thread ongoing, one finished) Successfully stole a bunch of aphro-mint tea and sold some of it off, saved some to sell and/or use for barter later

Poke'N'Prance: participated and fought several people, treated it as a training exercise and forgot about the prize entirely

An Eggstraordinary Harvest: Determined that the eggs are magical (breaking them causes them to go bad excessively quickly and that's not fun for anyone); advised farmer to attempt to hatch them rather than break them open or cook them; kept a half-dozen to try and hatch himself and see what comes out of them - will update next AC what weird chickens come out of them.

◉◉ Magitek weapons: In one thread with Emet Selch, they decided to abandon making a magic turret/weapons and put their efforts into a simple engine/propellor. Thread penindg tho.
◉◉ Magitek weapons/Goose: In a thread with Turo, Rem used the Tera crytals he has to power a magical turret... the crystal made a devastating attack against the goose kaiju, though, so after it retreated, they both destroyed the weapon they just built. They decide to scrap their weapon plans. Instead, they plan to put their efforts into a magitek-powered barrier/shield.
◉◉ Magitek weapons/Goose: Rem is still testing a magical turret in other threads with Kaveh and Maria against the goose. Threads pending completion, though. Originally I would have said "Rem destroys each magitek weapon she attempts to build for this quest", but a reasonable answer re: weapons with Cid has convinced her not to utterly destroy her work. Sooo. Yeah. Maybe one or two prototype turrets will still be intact? Will update if this is not the case.
◉◉ Bite sized blessings: Rem and Daria are currently looking for a pet shop to bring a dragon to. If the pet shop won't take them, they might either release them or keep them themselves, maybe?

Extra: Turo encountered a little dragon for bite-sized blessings, giving the little dragon one of the Poké Dolls to have/carry around/and play with- and didn't take it back to Elah, instead deciding to let it decide where it wanted to go before it bit him(so it either went to Nograd or elsewhere). He also assisted Rem with Magitech Madness with a side of Goose, and after seeing the destruction the somewhat refined Tera crystal could do, the goose lost a head within seconds and fled, that was scrapped and will not be reported back and instead will both focus on shielding instead.

Turo is continuing his research on improving the Poké Dolls and Substitute Dolls, and may be very close to producing a new and improved version of both sometime soon. The data collected by others and himself having been extremely helpful. He has also joined the Raiders of the Lost Arts, and manages to devote time to projects there as well now.
