MANTA BOARD: MARCH 2026

The MANTA Board is posted every month, but the quests are on a "2 month cycle." This means quests can last for two months with possible updates or new additions in the second month before it completely refreshes for the next cycle. Players can do older quests so long as they do not have some kind of resolution or time limit on them.

Quests are separated into five categories and all have flat point values: General (4pts), Corsair (4pts), Paladin (4pts), Bounties (6pts), and Specials (12pts). Crew quests are listed under "Specials" and are worth the same amount of points (12pts). Although these quests are intended for established crews, non-members are allowed to assist if the crew invites them. However, non-members would only receive 6pts. Similarly, characters helping opposing armada quests will only be rewarded 2pts for participation unless specified otherwise. Special quests won't always be available so it may appear blank at times. These can range from group quests such as for special ship upgrades or island related quests, or they could be special event quests. All quest points can be used for the Rewards Shop.

If you wish to submit a quest, comment in the appropriate field during Activity Check with the quest written and we'll add it to the next month! Crews are also still allowed to make their own quests without our approval, but if uncertain players can comment here about them.

If you have any questions regarding any current quest, comment to this entry.

» GENERAL (4pts)
Pandora's Tower
Reward: Charm of Lingering Hunger. Gain lifesteal against monsters, but you occasionally crave raw meat...

There have been whispers of a strange tower sighted deep within one of Eltrut’s dense forests. A tall, pointed structure with a single torch burning at its peak, signalling that someone may be living there... alone.

The board is tasking brave sailors and adventurers with uncovering who (or what) resides within that lonely tower.

Upon investigating the strange tower, reports have returned that a single girl named Elena lives there by herself. She claims she cannot leave, as she bears a terrible curse... one she refuses to risk passing on to others. A curse that is slowly consuming her from the inside out. She is slowly turning into a monster, and the only way she can prevent herself from fully transforming into something cursed is to... eat monster flesh.

She has been pleading for visitors to bring fresh monster flesh to her tower to help satiate her hunger and slow the progression of her affliction. Bring her fresh monster meat... or is there another way to cleanse this curse?

Drink Like a Fish
Reward: If you can manage to keep down a few shots, you'll be given a magic fish in a bottle. All it does is glow neon colours.

There’s been a unique new trend going around lately. Taverns and alcohol connoisseurs alike have been ranting and raving about a powerful new vodka made entirely out of ... fermented fish.

It doesn’t sound all that pleasing to the palate to most people. There’s just something rather fishy about it. Isn’t there?

But everyone is adamant that this fish vodka is the newest and best way to get yourself drunk off your ass and have a good time so… Why not? Grab a shot or two and give this ambitious new fish vodka a try. And be careful not to throw up too quickly if you can’t keep it down.

Tomayto? Tomahto.
Reward: Farm fresh tomatoes and an oversized tomato hat.

What began as a passing question has become a full-blown crisis. It all started when two idiots traveling scholars stopped in a quiet farming village and posed what they called a simple inquiry:

“Are tomatoes a fruit… or a vegetable?”

At first, it was harmless. A few farmers argued over ale. Some cited tradition. Others cited common sense. But then came the pamphlets. The town meetings. The shouted accusations across fences. Now the debate has spread far beyond a single village.

Merchants refuse to trade with those who “believe incorrectly.” Market stalls are split into rival factions. The Fruitists and the Vegetablists glare at one another from opposite ends of the marketplace!

We fear violence may soon erupt... So, can you answer the age-old question once and for all? Is a tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

It will also help to stop any disputes in the streets. Help by calming down the crowds and stopping any fights or gun fights from breaking out. And watch out for any flying tomatoes!!

Shiver me Tinders
Reward: A new understanding of your fellow riftfarers.

Something’s been glitching with everyone’s shellphones this month…! They suddenly fizzle and go black and when they reboot it appears there’s been some unwanted activity happening on them on your behalf.

A network post has appeared and with it, fake social media profiles have popped up too. You didn’t post to it, the shellphones have automatically done that for you. They’ve posted one picture, your age and three random facts about you. Whether or not those facts are true or not is … sketchy at best.

If you’re curious, go scrolling through the network post and see what it says about you and about others! Comment around and ask them about their facts! And maybe make a new friend?

(Note: The network post will be going up around March 5th, 2026 after applications have been processed.)

Hot Paws
Reward: A free pair of custom gloves.

A hot new item is in need of testing! A pair of gloves created with the thought of paw-pads and claws of a cat to strengthen one's grip in a variety of things. The paw-pads act as a cushion while the material they are made from allows for a firm, tight grip; the claws in mind for catching and re-solidifying any lost grip if applicable. Be it climbing for sport, working around/aboard a ship, exploring ruins, or simply dealing with more simple chores that could damage one's hands these gloves were designed to help combat that in comfort.

Professor Turo is taking volunteers to help test the gloves' limits, or simply if they help at all. Best used for climbing, but can also be used for anything else that takes a firm grip or may wear down one's hands. Can come in custom colors as part of the reward for quality testing.

Lonely Lighthouse
Reward: A handheld solar lantern. It lasts for quite some time once charged; locals value them for fog traversal.

A small fishing village has gone quiet... While this would be a sad reality in the more remote, harsher islands of the world, this one is near to a nautical crossroads, down the coast from its lighthouse. The lighthouse itself stands tall and bright, its keepers none the worse for the wear ... just concerned that some of their neighbours down the road have seemed to have gone missing. All at once, with no open signs of conflict.

When asked, the keepers will report that the region was plagued with a nasty winter storm before the disappearances were noticed ... but in a break in the weather, the moon shone unusually bright, with a single small fishing boat limping back to port before the storm resumed. But when it had finally passed, dense fog remained heavy on the water; fog itself is common to the region, but one of the keepers swears they saw shapes in it this time.

Whether or not that was to be believed, the village was definitely empty. Fires still banked, doors left unlatched, dogs roaming the streets for masters they couldn’t find, and emboldened rats taking advantage of pantries left unguarded ... but no people, just fresh tracks in the snow all in a line, shuffling towards the mostly empty docks. Docks that are in places mired with a dark red seaweed.

The lighthouse keepers are quite worried about their neighbours, and have requested aid from whoever will answer. To find out just what happened here...?

» PALADINS (4pts)
Who Let The Wisps Out
Reward: 500 dubloons.

Some strange but cute little wispy creatures have suddenly made an appearance all over Elah. No one is exactly certain how or why they have swarmed the Leviathan, but they’ve been prancing about all month.

So far, paladin researchers have found that the wisps do not have any internal organs, because they are composed entirely of something like spirit or electric energy or Hyper Energy. Overall, they are similar, both in appearance and in motion, to underwater cephalopods such as squids. Physical characteristics all wisps share include a "head" with three tentacles stemming from the bottom. Their skin colour, body shape and number of eyes, ranging from none to three, is determined by their breed. Also, regular wisps do not get much taller than half a meter.

There is still much that has to be learned to these little creatures that have made Elah their new home. Go out and do some research of your own and see what you can learn about them.

(Note: A full reference about the wisps can be used here. Please note that these creatures are not adoptable until proper research has been done. They will later be available through Crew Rewards only.)

Sea & Sweetness
Reward: Sugary sweet fishcakes! And an old memory.

A local bakery on Elah has started a new popular confectionary trend. They’ve been baking and selling batches of cute fishcakes that have been selling like hotcakes! They’re all the craze!

These cute little fishy shaped cakes come in all shapes, sizes and flavours. They come in banana, strawberry, blueberry! Or chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon. Try the mango! Or the hollyberry? Mangosteen? Or … durian fruit? It seems like these little fishcakes are in every flavour you can think of!

What happens when you eat one of these nice sweet fishcakes? If you eat a fruit fishcake, your shadow turns into a tropical lagoon for 24 hours. Tiny glowing fish swim through your shadow on the ground. When you step in sunlight, you leave little ripples behind you. If someone stands in your shadow, they hear distant ocean waves and seagulls.

And… Once during the day, you can “cast a line” into your own shadow and pull out a random magical fish-shaped bubble that will remind you of a precious childhood memory when it pops.

Get yourself a batch of these fishcakes before they sell out. Try one before they’re all gone!

The Giantfeet-Folders
Reward: A pack of pencils, perfect for throwing into the ceiling if you're bored, but I guess you can use them too. Some premium ramen packs too (3)

Agent Mullusk here. Thank you for your help with that UFO. While Scullop and I couldnt find it, we have some good leads for later. Maybe it'll pop back up over the skies of our world again? Anyway, that's not important right now, not when we've got an actual photo of Giantfeet! He was spotted on Elah, so I suppose this is Paladins only, huh...? Unless some Corsairs want to sneak around the wilds of Elah to see if they can spot him, or his footprints, or fur... or ask around to see if anyone saw him. There has to be SOME witnesses, right?! Be sure to let Scullop and I know, I know she'll be THRILLED to hear that someone else has finally seen Giantfeet...! (no, no I won't be. — Scullop.)

» CORSAIRS (4pts)
Hoard & Order
Reward: Emergency Favor. A dragon will intervene once in a dramatic future moment.

With Dragon’s Gale wrapping up, it appears that some dragons have started to settle down on Nogard for a while. These dragons are a bit … unusual, though. Instead of settling down to hatch and raise baby dragon eggs, they’ve started to hoard usual things.

There are now several dragons flying around Nogard that are collecting dragon hoards and are making mountains of them all over the Leviathan. Some of these unusual hordes are … hoards of books, cheese, cats, blankets, chickens and spoons

Aside from the missing items, it might be a good idea to find a way to help these dragons out of their unusual habits before it gets too out of hand… Or help them hoard more? It’s up to you!

Hatching Tide
Reward: 500 dubloons. And any pearls you might want to keep.

With full Spring on the way soon… and with the change in the weather, Nogard has moved to somewhere warmer already! The change in waters has started a new phenomena. The shores of Nogard are currently littered with shiny clams that are ripe for the taking.

These special clams are meant to be collected and “hatched” in order to collect the beautiful sea pearls inside. These beautiful, rare and luminescent pearls are said to fetch a pretty price with nobles and the rich, but also make beautiful jewellery gifts for friends and loved ones.

Collect and hatch clams for their shiny pearls. While working, you might come across some magical fish that have somehow gotten themselves stuck under a coat of mother-of-pearl, as well. If any of these magical fish are released from the clams they will burst into motes of shimmering light and will float in the air and follow you around for three days before vanishing. The fish can sense gold nearby, so maybe they’re lucky!

» BOUNTIES (6pts)
Bobby Twinfists
Reward: 500 dubloons.

"Who does he think he is?? That bastard walks down the docks, doesn’t say a word, and beats the chum outta my crew! I’ll pay anyone who can teach this bastard a thing or two and put him in his place!!

(Note: This rogue dragonfolk is just looking for a good challenge and is actually a pretty decent guy. The bounty poster is just butthurt about getting beat up.)"

» SPECIALS (12pts)
Music Box Mystery
Reward: 500 dubloons upon recovery and bonus special unique award

What started as a delivery to the arctic shrine turned into an expedition that uncovered a mysterious city and yielded amazing results, deepening the mystery of the past and the region even further. One of the biggest finds was a music box that seemed connected to a bell tower. Further investigation has supported a theory that there are other bell towers and these music boxes are connected. However, there were none to be found in the city. They must either be scattered elsewhere around the world, or new ones must be built. Fortunately, there are some clues, but it will take some digging nonetheless.

A total of four (4) must be found. If you're interested, comment to the sign-up thread below with the location you wish to claim:
  • Auction
  • Some field in the tundra region
  • Paladin music collector's home
  • Blueprints in a Corsair group's hideout
More information will be provided in replies. The Ainomiad group can be reached through the above link for more information about the music box. How these are obtained can vary: persuasion, theft, murder, bought, etc. The music boxes will all be damaged to some degree, and whether the group tries to repair them is up to you!
Shadow Ice
Reward: Various amounts of dubloons upon rescuing victims and damaging the beast

A giant snake dragon has been spotted in the northern seas, striking ships and passing through islands as it makes its way south. Wherever it goes, it leaves large spikes of ice, and from these spikes shadows emerge to catch people unawares. They enter the person and freeze them over. Sometimes it's instant, others are slow.

Although it is possible to save them, action must be swift before too much damage is done. Even worse, they must take care not to shatter any frozen parts, else… What is shattered cannot be saved.

Potential objectives:
  • Find the snake dragon and stop it! Note: it is a powerful entity and while it cannot be killed at this time, it can be thwarted and injured. It is a giant snake dragon that can traverse water and land, has "some control over light to create copies of itself or perhaps jump from image to image of itself in the ice," and is very fast. No known weakness, just throw everything you got.
  • Help rescue people affected by the ice spikes and shadows. Destroy the spikes, and to thaw the people gradual warmth and healing magic will be key. However, the shadows can still be a threat and must be destroyed. Any type of light and fire abilities will be useful here.
  • It is possible to be caught by the shadows, so be careful!
Note: the Ainomiad group has encountered the beast before and can be reached through the here for further inquiries.
