MANTA BOARD: FEBRUARY 2026

The MANTA Board is posted every month, but the quests are on a "2 month cycle." This means quests can last for two months with possible updates or new additions in the second month before it completely refreshes for the next cycle. Players can do older quests so long as they did not have some kind of resolution or time limit on them.

For this month's board update, some quests have been updated to reflect progress from last month, with some carrying over as is.

Quests are separated into five categories and all have flat point values: General (4pts), Corsair (4pts), Paladin (4pts), Bounties (6pts), and Specials (12pts). Crew quests are listed under "Specials" and are worth the same amount of points (12pts). Although these quests are intended for established crews, non-members are allowed to assist if the crew invites them. However, non-members would only receive 6pts. Similarly, characters helping opposing armada quests will only be rewarded 2pts for participation unless specified otherwise. Special quests won't always be available so it may appear blank at times. These can range from group quests such as for special ship upgrades or island related quests, or they could be special event quests. All quest points can be used for the Rewards Shop.

If you wish to submit a quest, comment in the appropriate field during Activity Check with the quest written and we'll add it to the next month! Crews are also still allowed to make their own quests without our approval, but if uncertain players can comment here about them.

If you have any questions regarding any current quest, comment to this entry.

» GENERAL (4pts)
Haunted Paws
Reward: Chew Toy of Eternal Screaming. It's a distraction item that screams. A lot. Do not use indoors.

Last month, a haunted estate was investigated, where several lumbering shadows were spotted. Rumours and reports noted that canine and feline creatures had a greater sensitivity to the shadows looming around the estate.

Thanks to some investigations, it's been discovered that the haunted estate is infested with what appears to be shadow creatures or ghosts that latch onto anything that resembles or is close to death. Be it someone who’s had a near-death experience or those who have been surrounded by death in the past.

Records inside the estate have shown that the original owners and staff of the estate have died long ago, and several small animal graves were found out on the grounds. All that has been left behind is a frantic cat and a magical snail. This snail, with a pink rose for a shell, has been noted to have the ability to destroy and eat the shadows plaguing the estate.

In order to clear the haunted estate of shadows and make light of the owner's deaths, take the magical snail or the ghost-detecting cat and go about clearing out the shadows as best you can. Just be careful, as now that the estate has been sifted through, the shadows are taking the form of several angry and lost animal ghosts. Most likely due to the graves that were uncovered.

Get ghost-cleaning, and don't forget to keep using the help of your own furry friends to hunt down the shadows!

Dragon's Gale
Reward: Ribbon of Molted Gold. Decorative, but dragons recognize it as a sign of trust.

February marks a very special time in the world of Escordvi. It marks the Dragon’s Gale season, which celebrates the migratory routes of dragons and dragonkin alike as they move from colder waters to warmer waters as Spring comes closer. It is a time when all dragons are migrating to warm spots to find nests to spend the lasting days of winter and to, more importantly, find a mate and create new life. It’s dragon baby season!

As usual, the island Ocard is celebrating with the dragons. This year, the Manta Board has put in a special request for adventurers and sailors alike to go to Ocard and to help tend to the mating dragons. This means there are various tasks and chores to be done. Such as:

- Helping dragons build and create nests using various different soft and sturdy materials.
- Bathing newly hatched dragon eggs in warm baths.
- Grooming dragons and keeping their tails and scales shiny and clean.
- Dancing with the dragons as they perform their mating dances.
- Creating dragon charms to help promote sweet dragon love.

For a more in-depth reference about Ocard, Dragon’s Gale and the dragons, please see the original log here.

Love Love Pretty Derby!
Reward: Heartflame Token. Having this token with you makes you almost irresistible! Someone might even give you a kiss!

As part of the Dragon’s Gale celebrations, several races have been put together on Eltrut. People are paired up as partners and must work together with one leg tied to the other person’s leg to take part in three-legged races.

Partners can either pair up willingly or if you wander too close to the races alone, a spell might be cast on you to be forcefully paired up with a stranger. And to make it even more festive, pairs are dressed up with ribbons tucked behind one ear and horse-tails tied around the waist. (Is this more like a horse race…?) Come on, now! Get in the spirit!

These races are to symbolize the synergy between a mated pair, so get close, get tied together and race! Can you make it to the end?

The X-Folders
Reward: A nice thank you note :) and some packs of instant ramen. Don't ask where they came from.

Over the skies of Eltrut and occasionally near Nogard and Elah, sightings of a UFO are happening (a view from below as well is here.) What the heck is it? Where is it going? That's what the newly opened X-Folders want to know.

Agent Mullusk and Agent Scullop are on the case, and anyone that can bring back photos, blurry or otherwise or info on where it was seen and where it was going will be appreciated. You can turn in any photos and any other tips as well on other unexplained phenomena around the seas and perhaps your crew's homes to the agents themselves, who will definitely investigate and update within the next couple of months. In return, you'll get something nice as a reward! (?)

Sedimental Value
Reward: Successful extraction of usable ore will be rewarded with a portion of the ore to be used for a personal item forged by Darin Altway that will glow with a fiery light when one’s true feelings are expressed and glow with a weak pulse when those true feelings are being denied.

Darin Altway is interested in a new ore that has been discovered, as he believes it can boost the efficacy of his Beacon Box cores.

“Magnetecorum” is a magically rich ore that is highly “emotionally conductive.” However, all conventional attempts to extract the ore from the pastel pink geodes it can be found in result in the ore deteriorating to the point it becomes unusable. Rumour has it proper extraction requires some gesture or expression of deep, emotional significance but either no one knows what that means or the people who submitted the theory were too emotionally constipated to figure it out.

Try to locate and harvest some of this Magnetecorum. Darin Altway will be available for consultation excursions to document any attempts to extract the ore.
» PALADINS (4pts)
The Blubbered Lands
Reward: Several hidden treasures and relics found buried on the island.

Last month, Finneas Chartwell, an up-and-coming cartographer sharkfolk, acquired the help of the paladins to chart his newest island find. He has now aptly named the island Walrust Isle.

The island itself has been reported to make whoever steps foot on it slowly turn into a lazy mess. It’s almost impossible to get anything done on this island, thanks to this strange haze over the island that makes you as lazy as a walrus.

Finneas has as counter for this issue. He wants to give explorers a special “accountability charm” that allows travelling partners to keep each other going under the lazy haze. The only consideration to make the charm work is you must command each other, or the charm will zap you like an electrified shock collar. So long as one of you gives commands and one of you follow commands you won’t get shocked…!

Take it, and go exploring the caves deeper on the island. There have been some reports that the island itself is a walrus cemetery as several walrus bones have been found… Perhaps that’s the source of the lazy curse?

Good luck and report back what you find.

The Great Book Heist
Reward: Wet Book Smell Aura. Lowers enemy morale (somehow).

The recent winter storms have started to die down and give way to more normal weather patterns. But with it, ships have been left battered and bruised from the weather, making them weaker and more susceptible to pirating ships. Reports have come in that several transport ships have been attacked and ransacked, leaving all of their stock and cargo stolen. In particular, ships carrying books have been targeted and several areas are now reporting a large shortage of new books. When books are the main form of information and entertainment… This is a big deal.

Go out and try and pinpoint where these thieving ships have headed with this massive stocks of books. Better yet, get the upper hand on these book-stealing pirates and get the stolen books back!

» CORSAIRS (4pts)
A Skull Full of Ice
Reward: 500 dubloons.

Everyone knows about Nogard’s giant skeletal body and skull. When Nogard is at rest, the giant Leviathan turns to bone to conserve energy. But with the icy storms last month, Nogard has had an issue with being unable to park itself to get some decent rest. Nogard just can’t stop shivering. Naturally, that leaves the established settlements on Nogard suffering from Nogard’s constant aching and shivering earthquakes.

Unfortunately, not many people participated in creating bonfires inside Nogard’s skull to help the Leviathan warm up last month… That means Nogard is suffering a terrible frostbite and cannot stop shaking which is causing a terrible series of earthquakes all over the chilly Leviathan.

Towns, docks and settlements all across Nogard will be effected. The earthquakes will range from medium to severe as Nogard tries to warm up. The Leviathan will also be attempting to move to warmer waters but will struggle due to its bout of frostbite.

Corsairs will need to help reinforce structures and repair earthquake damage all across Nogard. The docks will take particularly severe damage and it may be difficult to make port in Nogard this month. And keep trying to create those bonfires to help warm Nogard up...

Alpha Omega Essence
Reward: An earring that glows red when you're in love.

A recent trend has exploded on Nogard and Naughtilust where everyone is attempting to create the next best mate-attracting perfume, perhaps thanks to the recent dragon migration. Everyone wants to create something special and sweet that will attract another person with one whiff of it. People are using anything from flower pollen to bugs to powdered dragon’s claws to mix into the liquids. Some are even using dragon’s sweat and other bodily fluids to make it just right.

Create or test perfume to see if the mixture does the trick and lures in a special someone or just another person nearby. If you can get the perfume just right there may be a reward for you.

Just be aware that using anything farmed from a dragon or any hormone-inducing plants will make the perfumes especially potent. Anyone sprayed with the perfume will suddenly smell irriestably sweet. In some cases, the wearer will feel the effects themselves and want to present themselves to others at all costs. And anyone inhaling the sweet hormone-laced scent will want to ravish them like a wild animal in heat. Or in some cases the perfume won't work well at all and you'll just feel ... pretty beta.

We killed it. Didn’t we? … Didn’t we? Where did it go?
