CR WORKSHIP: JULY 2025

Our CR Meme CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Canon: Final Fantasy XIII. End of game, directly after defeating Orphan and before turning to crystal.

About: Ex-military gone rogue after her sister got tattooed by the fal'Cie gods and turned to crystal. After getting tattooed herself and turned into a l'Cie, she sets out on a mission to take them all down, in true dramatic FF fashion. At first glance, she comes off as grumpy, cocky, standoffish, is brutally honest, and has no issues with leaving behind those who she thinks will only get in her way... but don't let that cold demanour fool you. Deep down, she is a true leader with a heart of the goldest gold who cares deeply for people. She is the big sis you never had, and once you get on her good side, she is fiercely protective and loyal, and also an excellent partner to have on your side in a fight. A marshmallow of the crispiest variety.

Abilities: Besides being highly-trained and skilled with a gunblade, Lightning also has the powers of a l'Cie. She can wield magic, mostly lightning magic, but she won't be getting a tattoo here for a little while yet. She's already got one, and she doesn't want another, so she'll be magic-less for a bit, until she can either be convinced to get one or decides that she absolutely needs it herself. For now, she'll just be pewpewing with her gunblade. She can also summon her Eidolon, Odin, to fight alongside her for a short time. He also transforms into a horse. Giddy-up.

PLANS

General:

⚡ Going to focus first and foremost on getting her settled in and acclimated. Right now, she's grumpy about being here and wants to get home to finish the job that she started and save her sister.

⚡ Also gotta get her a tattoo at some point, whether by force or because she's convinced that she needs one.

⚡ Going to be looking for work in the meantime, and will likely take on just about any job to make sure that she has money and can put food on her own table.

⚡ Will be avoiding crews for the time being.

This might be a bit silly, but as someone who also tried to not get a Tattoo when he first arrived (and almost got his ass kicked by birds for it) it might be amusing for Axel to try and convince Lightning to get hers, if threading that interests you?

Because a guy with tatts literally on his face is just who you want to hear that stuff from.

LOL I'd totally be down for that! And she is absolutely going to make a comment about the tattoos on his face. It could be over a quest, maybe a bounty? Because what better way to learn hard lessons than to throw them head first into the fray?

True! Though if it was during a bounty, I'd say the threat chasing them will do the convincing for her more than he ever will haha

I had thought more of a wildcard encounter just bothering her, if she lingers near the tattoo shop. I could even do it on the TDM for continuity, if she already has her tattoo by the time event drops/in current threads but I'm flexible! :> Otherwise I'll keep an eye out for if she top levels, and I can throw you something there. BeautyFang Eel might be a good fight if we go the bounty route.

She won't be getting it yet so we're all good! I am not planning on anything for the special quest log just because my inbox exploded, but we can always do a closed thing if you'd prefer!!

Funnily enough, the bounty would probably NOT do anything to convince her, so we could still go that route! She's going to need a few things to show her that YES MAYBE SHE DOES NEED IT.

Otherwise, there were a few other things that are less fighty on the log that they could do, like gathering resources that they could also run into each other doing? She's going to be stubborn and attempt to do it all without magic, and probably fail miserably at it.

Character: Tifa Lockhart
Canon: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Chapter 9
Armada: Paladin

About: Tifa is the "Mom Friend" if there ever was one. She is a kind, empathetic, patient, protective soul who is always looking out for others. Sociable and friendly as she can be, she's much more reserved than she appears—she never wears her heart on her sleeve and keeps her emotions close, and prefers to talk about anything but herself. But don't let her shy, timid exterior fool you. She is a savvy business woman who ran a bar and can kick a lot of ass, too.

Internally, Tifa is carries a lot of grief and anger, and has had plenty losses in life, is incredibly self-critical, and it's because of this that she is always pushing herself to do better. She'll always try to think things through first and put on a smile for others, but deep down beneath all of that is a woman still struggling from her past. In spite of her anger and her past, she is still always trying to do the right thing and to help anyone in need, and treat everyone with kindness, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Abilities: Tifa is fully trained and skilled in hand-to-hand combat (think Final Fantasy Monk) her main weapon being her gloves (ranging from knuckles to claws). Tifa utilizes the use of materia to perform magic. Depending on what materia she has equipped, she is able to use various types of magic: elemental, healing, buffing, debuffing, and protective. There are also special summoning materias that can call the different summons to fight alongside her. She has Ifrit equipped on her at the moment. As for her tattoo, she'll be specializing in fire magic as that's the materia she came equipped with upon crash-landing in Escordvi! I might have her switch her tattoo to water in the near future, though, and keep the fire materia.

PLANS

General:

🌠 With Eustace leaving at some point this month, she'll be spending the latter half of July sad. :( I'm not super interested in playing any fallout with this, but just mentioning that will be her general mood, and she likely won't want to talk about it and will pretend everything! is! okay!!!

🌠 Tifa is still running the Seventh Heaven Bar and Grill, so people are always welcome to come by and say hi!

🌠 My dream for her here is to do some martial arts teaching, but less the kicky punchy kind (though if anyone wants to learn how to kick and punch, she's your gal!) and more about the strengthening of the body and soul to do it. I want her to pass on Zangan's teachings to people, as well as some stuff that she has learned over time. So it would involve a lot of strength training, inner reflection and meditation, and stretches as well!

🌠 I am having a little trouble finding a different sort of path for her here, so just trying to navigate that would be good. Mostly on the emotional side of things. I'd like for her to make some more friends as well as deepen the bonds that she has already made.

🌠 I do have plans on canon updating her to post-Rebirth once I have the time! Hopefully sometime this summer, I'll sit down and write up that canon update.

CR Dreams: Anything and everything! Tifa is very easy to get along with, so really, I'd love all kinds of CR. What I can offer in return is a mom/big sis figure, a kind/patient/loving/understanding friend, a kickass martial artist, a great cook/bartender, and just an all-around good person. Mainly, I just really want her to make more friends here.

Arkady will be looking for a good bar to visit and friends to get to know. She's never been on her own so she's also going to be super lonely but not wanting to bother people with it. As a more long term thing her actually learning strength training, stretches, and more inner meditation that doesn't just involve punishing herself.

Plus internally they struggle with similar things and Arkady is decent about getting others to talk some! Could use cat kneads to springboard something?

Character: Benedikta Harman
Canon: Final Fantasy XVI, post Wings of Change

About: Benedikta Harman is a woman who is all about her survival and self-preservation first and foremost. Having climbed out of the depths of a cruel and terrible youth, she ascended to a place of power within the Kingdom of Waloed after being rescued, thanks to her talents in subterfuge and swordplay, as well as being the Dominant of the Eikon Garuda. Now the Head of the Elite Intelligencers, Waloed's spies, she is—or was, in the case of Escordvi—fiercely loyal to her king. However, not everything is as it seems with her.

She is loyal, but to a fault. And although things have changed for her since coming to Escordvi, she can still be the ruthless, cold-hearted, guarded woman that she has grown up to be. Deep down, however, she is merely a woman who has sought love and validation all her life, and a need to be useful, and once found it in all the wrong places. And now, after recent developments and revelations, she has found it and is working on healing those old wounds born from betrayal and loneliness, as well as trying to live a life that she was robbed of in the past.

Abilities:

🗡️ MAGIC: In canon, she can wield strong wind magic, such as summoning tornadoes and violent gales, and can also teleport herself and anyone else she chooses to another location. Benedikta can also summon her egis, Suparna and Chirada (wind-based elementals). Over time, she's developed her own magic separate of Garuda's that don't require her aether to use, such as wings, healing winds, and most recently, transforming her arms into claws similar to those that she uses in canon. She can also talk to and understand birds!

🗡️ GARUDA: Being the Dominant of Garuda, she is able to take on two forms of the Eikon: semi-primed and fully primed by drawing upon her aether. When she is semi-primed, she grows a set of large feathered wings, has glowing green marks over her skin, and bright blue eyes. She is fast, agile, and powerful, and can summon claws that are large enough to tear apart buildings. When she is primed, she transforms into the much larger version of her Eikon. Under Garuda's influence, she can summon powerful, devastating wind storms. At the moment, she refuses to use too much of Garuda's power, and though Garuda is present again, Benedikta only uses her magic under dire circumstances.

PLANS

General:

🗡️ First things first, Benedikta's sanctuary on the Hideaway's island, The Roost. She has been taking in women mostly at the moment who need a safe place to stay or who had been in bad circumstances, but that will likely expand in the future to children should the opportunity arise. There will likely be "quests" involved, such as helping with remodelling, training, supply fetching, and of course saving people. I am just putting feelers out at the moment, but if anyone would be interested in helping her with this, I'm open to discussion! I'd only ask that anyone who does gets CR with her first before going any further with it, whether it be bringing people there or assisting with other tasks.

🗡️ She is still looking into the rifts, so any place where there is potential to find something, she will be there. She'd like to close them forever, everyone else be damned, so... :)

🗡️ Because her FFXVI curse has worsened due to recent events, she's going to be looking for more ways to cure it. Alfyn was able to lessen the pain that comes with it, but she would like to cure it completely.

CR Dreams: Honestly, I'm great with any kind of CR but Benedikta isn't the most pleasant person sometimes so anyone who is okay with possibly negative CR would be ideal. To a much lesser extent these days but still possible: people she can manipulate into doing her bidding, or people she can team up with and then betray later, whether they are paladin or corsair, she will take them. She does have a bit of a soft and protective spot for younger girls (especially any who have had troubled pasts), so I would adore exploring that, if any want to come rest under her wings. Also, I love pitting her against people who are really good at getting under her skin. But honestly, just give me all kinds of CR, I'm here for it. She does get along with like-minded people, so anyone who is just as ruthless and cutthroat as she is, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
