YO HO HO EVERYONE! This is an ATP/EMP post where players can make cast requests for people to app into, or make ads for characters they are considering bringing into the game. It works like any other ATP/EMP, but we do have a few things to note down:
» Invitations are required to reserve and apply! But you can go ahead and post to the ATP/EMP post with a note you need an invite. If you know a current player, they can comment here to submit their invite for approval. Direct requests to the mods are currently closed.
» We have a 65 player cap.
» Players can only app 2 characters at once with a max limit of 3 in game. But since this is an ATP/EMP, feel free to put more if you're having trouble deciding!
» Our Game Info should cover everything you need, from basic premise summary to the nitty gritty details of the game mechanics. If you have any questions, post them there.
» Just want to make it clear that this is not a claims page. While we give priority to whoever is on the Reserve list, we do allow app challenges, and there is no rule against multiple players TDMing the same character. Of course we don't want there to be too much conflict, so everyone please be polite no matter who it is.
» TDM is Saturday, June 14. This TDM will double as our "Sticky Situation" event, but we will include a traditional "starter prompt" for TDM specific characters. Everything will be carried over as canon!
» Reservations open Tuesday, June 24th.
» Applications open Tuesday, July 1st.
» Use the following codes to write up your character or cast ad!

Varric is a character that's been around A WHILE in Dragon Age now, having been a central character throughout three of the games. He's a dwarven rogue who wields one of the only mechanized crossbows to exist in his world (affectionately named Bianca and no you can't touch her). A renowned (and published) storyteller, a rogue, a spy, an information broker, Varric's done a little bit of everything in his lifetime, adapting to fit the current need and crisis currently wrecking havoc across Thedas. He's one of those people who views every stranger as a friend he hasn't met yet, and is one of the most charismatic and jovial companions to accompany whichever hero he currently happens to be assisting.
Loyal and good-natured, he comes at life with a sense of irreverent humor and an unconventional problem-solving - one that he's not afraid to end at arrow-point, should all other options fail him. He's an easy person to relate to and can strike up a conversation with just about anyone, easily able to find common ground to meet in a compromise. He's often the one to diffuse tense situations and tends to collect stragglers and strays and take them under his wing, his closest friends often made up of makeshift bands of misfits and outcasts.
I'd likely bring him in from the beginning of Veilguard if he showed up here, especially because that wouldn't make things extra complicated for his canonmates at all >.> But also look how hot a silver fox he is, who could resist that face? And that chest hair!
Also if he ends up writing "friend-fiction" about people he meets here and starts shipping wars that have nothing to do with the actual ships, I'm totally not sorry >.>

Lucanis was trained to be the most dangerous mage-slayer in a group of legendary assassins, the Crows, and made a name for himself as the Demon of Vyrantium. Until a cult made up of some of his most dangerous enemies had him betrayed and captured. Imprisoned, tortured and experimented on, he became more than just his namesake indicated when he was forcibly possessed by a demon, but the experiment went terribly wrong for his captors when, instead of becoming a more easily-controlled abomination, he and his demon united to become something else. Something new. Now inhabited by a spirit of Spite (who embodies exactly what the name implies) the assassin is an even deadlier foe, with a vendetta against those who ruined his life. And a debt owed to the one who got him out of that prison against all odds.
As part of the Veilguard, he's dedicated to bringing down a pair of corrupt, blighted gods, despite the fact that he's still a mere mortal. But considering the enemy cult is now closely aligned with these corrupt deities running amok, it gets him two birds with one stone. But also, he has no idea how the Veilguard survived before he got there because none of them can cook and they're all terrible at taking care of themselves, so despite the fact that his life has been all about killing, he also becomes something of a caretaker for the gang in their downtime between deadly fights. And his time as a prisoner has given him a greater appreciation for living and the joys that can be experienced with his new freedom - something he tends to appreciate to its fullest. Whether that's cooking exquisite meals or being a huge coffee snob or figuring out how to stab a cloud.

I WOULD BE SO HAPPY TO SEE EITHER
Partner or beverage bestie... Lace would be thrilled to see either of them and you know the kind of emotional resonance Varric would have especially, but man, she would welcome either with open arms, especially if they're joining her among the Corsairs (although she's kind of Over the sort-of-divide at the moment for reasons).
Think of how much material Varric could get for his next book! Alternatively, I think Lucanis would really benefit from a vacation on the high seas, lol, also the Corsair base is on the back of a dragon which is awesome.
