SAIL WITH ME: JUNE 2025

An abbreviated version of our CR Workship! Same concept, just a lot smaller. If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

About: Application!
Miriam's a young woman who's seen and been through some shit, but hasn't lost her kindness or sense of justice. Sure, she might be full of demonic rocks, but she's using that power to do good things. She wants to be helpful and prove that she's still human, let her be helpful!!

Those roses and petals on her aren't tattoos; they're part of a cursed crystal that lets Miriam use said phenomenal demonic power, but will eventually turn her into a crystal statue and kill her, or corrupt her mind and delete her sense of self and free will. Either or. The curse's spread is currently halted, but using her power too much or absorbing too many Shards (fragments of a demon's power) at once could cause it to start advancing again. So Miriam's in a constant balancing act of needing to use her powers to best help others but not so much that she crystalizes. No pressure.

Abilities: For canon ones, she's got all the ridiculously OP abilities of an endgame Castlevania protagonist—which she's usually fairly mindful about using, with such severe consequences for their overuse. She can do so much shit, though.

PLANS

General: So some nasty computer problems took me out at the knees last month; I still feel behind catching up. If there's any developments you'd like to start or handwave I'm all ears!

She's still a temporary crewmate with Hand and Hearth, though she has frequent flier miles with that Ring of Returning and will pop up on the Avalanche regularly.

Miriam's recovered enough to do fighting things again, and will be around on Snail Island as well as defending against the sharkfolk though...her mer form is a shark, and she's still holding onto the transformation charms from last month. Oops.

Sahrt's Treasure the Sequel--I fell down a hardware failure hole last time, but I'm here for this one!

CR Dreams: Friends, sparring friends, music friends, friends she'll probably leave a care package of cookies for etc (she's actually decent at cooking, especially when she has instructions more specific than an old lady's abstract nostalgia). Connections good! Miriam's also reasonably good with a piano, and has brought one into the Seventh Heaven bar. It's available for anyone to play if they're interested, not only crewmates. Her fairy familiar might come over if Carabosse likes you. She's a frequent Ring of Returning user and is often all over the place when the ship is docked, and is available for hire as a bodyguard for squishier scholarly types (fee waived for CR, people who are reasonably friendly, or just tell her they can't pay, she mostly just wants to help people). Miriam's usually fairly reserved, but bits of her past are starting to poke out now, particularly after the crystal island broke open her trauma and existential dread about her looming fossilization.

About: Fenris has had a rough life. In recent years, before leaving Thedas, he’d been on the run from the man who kept him as a living weapon. He is caring towards the people he’s close to, and has a strong sense of justice. However, Fenris is very temperamental and quick to anger. He can sometimes have extreme bouts of rage that are violent, though the violence is not something he’s always proud of.

He views magic- and those who use it- with great suspicion.

The tattoos on his body are infused with a special substance called Lyrium. They allow him to phase through people and objects, but are sensitive and sometimes painful when touched by others. He’s also a very adept swordsman, and carries a Very Big Greatsword.

PLANS

General: I want people to meet Fenris! He needs friends (and maybe enemies). Would like to get him to meet the other Dragon Age characters!
MANTA Board:
Closing Loose Ends: I would really like to get Fenris involved in some bounty hunting! It’s what he did at home,
Event:
Just generally, I will be tagging Fenris into whomever I can for the event, but would maybe like to make a post of my own as well.

A Bit Moist: Fenris will be poking around the forest now that he’s free! He may drop some lore about his life if you hang out with him long enough.

A Strange Cult: Anything involving human sacrifice is something that Fenris would be deeply opposed to. He definitely will be helping keep people away from them, but may also plot to murder the snails that are attempting sacrifices. So if anybody is interested in snail murder (or talking Fenris out of snail murder) I’d love to plot that!

Fenris holds a special place in my heart! That being said, I'd love to have these two team up again, maybe on a MANTA board. It'll be interesting how Fenris gets on with a knight who has a magic creature in his veins.

Faulkner | The Silt Verses | Corsair

About: Faulkner is from a world of gods and monsters, ruled by powerful corporations that harness divine energy for their own ends.

He’s spent most of his life chasing the idea of being a Great Man… while failing to even be a good one.

He’s desperate for attention, purpose and meaning. Unfortunately, up until recently that meaning was leading a dangerous crab themed cult dedicated to an outlawed, eldritch river deity. It didn’t go particularly well for him.

He’s taking his arrival here as the opportunity to reinvent himself, and to try to be a better person. So far it’s not actually going terribly.

PLANS

General: I want him to get his plant magic tattoo this month, so he’ll probably be trying to figure out using it! And I’d love to do something with people maybe helping with that.

Honestly in general things are looking up for him way more than he expected: he has a volunteer job and a weird dog and he’s been going on dates with a very nice bird-man.

I’d love for him to keep getting more CR, and keep getting positive reinforcement for acting like a relatively normal human being.

That said, it could honestly be fun to get him some less positive CR too! People are free to dislike this strange little man, it’ll stress him out deeply and that’ll be fun for me.

MANTA Board: Not sure if I’ll be doing a ton of MANTA board; he might try the glass blowing, and he might try the painting. That one would be fun because street/abstract art is frowned upon and dangerous in his setting! But he might have a good time if he gets past that.

He might also try to help with the whale memorial.

Event: He is going to feel some ways about the whole ‘human sacrifice for a god’ thing. Reminds him of home! That’s… not actually a good thing.

On the one hand: he gets it, he’s been on the other side of it. But also when someone is trying to sacrifice you you do, often, have to kill them first. As one does. He might harm some snails.

He might also try to talk them down with some kind of bitter speech about how their goddess doesn’t actually care about them and then resort to violence.

In general he hasn’t gotten violent in Esco, so that could just be interesting potentially.

About: Telepath. Asshole. Secretly some kind of artificial thing. Supervillain, though in more of a "antihero lying to themself about how they're actually the bad guy, really, no soft spot for the heroes at all" sort of way. Extremely fucked in the head. Also nonbinary.

General: Not this month, but it won't be long now til their ill-concieved plans come crashing down on their head and they die both pointlessly and horribly (they'll get better) as a result. You wanna get some CR groundwork in before then so your character can be sad/pleased/deeply annoyed by this whole thing? Feel free to hit me up.

MANTA Board: Got a lil thing going with closing loose ends where Chris is working with various people to catch some riftfarers who were involved. Already talked to some people about that, but if other people want in as well ya'll are free to hit me up about it.

Other than that, I don't really have much in the way of plans. It would be amusing, I suppose, to do Glory in the Hole, Paint the Town ROYGBIV, or Ink It Til You Make It. Also interested in More Things We Do For Cheese.
