CR WORKSHIP: MAY 2025

Our ~~CR Meme~~ CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

About: Roxas is the Nobody of Sora, protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. He is essentially the shell left behind when someone looses their Heart and becomes a Heartless. Though, thanks to the shenanigans of the series that require a powerpoint or a youtube essay to explain, he is able to exist as his own person, and is at a point where he's doing that. He probably has a Heart now.

Personality-wise, Roxas is basically Sora on Mute. He's a little quieter, a little more thoughtful but no less loyal to his friends and determined to help or stand up against people who would try to cast the Worlds into Darkness. He probably comes off as too serious to start but it's easy to break through that veneer. Right now he's mostly focused on keeping his crew alive.

Abilities: Roxas can wield two keyblades and can use a variety of magic, usually in combat. He's also got a 20x attack modifier.

PLANS

General:
-So, Roxas has had a couple of Months. He got arrested and kind of beat up, he lost his tattoo, and there was the whole brand situation so he couldn't even use his emotional support best friend (tm) to lean on. It was a bad time.

-Things are getting a little better now. He has a new tattoo, the brands aren't burning, but unfortunately, Roxas has not been set aright. He has a lot of feelings, he is not good at processing them, so the best thing to do about that is to do something absolutely stupid! Right? Right!

-So, the Plus Ultra crew is going Hog Wild with these feral hogs and at some point. Roxas is going to get it into his head to go after the Boss Hog. That's going to go as well as it can and Roxas and the Boss Hog are probably going to fall through a rift, spend some time doing various quests on various islands, and then finally take him down. A little bit of a vacation, but not really. Sometimes you just have to fight a big monster to get your head on straight. Feel free to find him during his soul searching arc, but he probably won't be coming home for a bit.

-Hopefully next well there will be a small log for Roxas's riftfaring adventure before he eventually finds himself at the bottom of the ocean to make sure his other doesn't drown. Roxas called dibs on being stupid.

-In an appearance note, Roxas has a scar across his chest now from when he fought a harpy, as well as small marks from where he was crystalized last month and tends to cover those up with slightly longer sleeves.

Event: Nothing specific but Roxas will probably end up down there at some point in his rift-faring adventure. Probably won't go full mermaid but he will have scales where his crystals were last month and gills. Might top level, will try to tag out, mostly going to be exploring and maybe gearing up for a final confrontation with that Boss Hog.

CR Dreams: All kinds! Roxas is a headstrong teenager! He needs friends to hang out with and adults to keep him on the right path! People to mentor him!

In return, he is fiercely loyal, determined and curious. Good for quests, good for hanging out.

About: Riku is a Keyblade master who did a lot of bad and questionable things in his past, done his best to recover from it and be better. He's an island brat that longed to see the outside world so badly he fell into these bad and questionable things in the first place. Best friend to Sora and almost Responsible Adult (tm) for keeping said friend out of trouble. He wields both light and darkness in a pretty well-balanced way after all he's been through, and it's clear when he uses it with magic.

He's that calm, responsible friend who does his best to be there and support others when they need it, using some of his own experience to try to help them. Riku's curious and always interested in learning new worlds so he'll stick his nose into a lot of things that Nimona probably wouldn't otherwise.

Abilities: Giant keysword, a variety of magic, and a nose for the scent of darkness. I may have Riku dive deeper into the abilities he could get from this world or explore some old canon ones I really like, but that's further down the road.

Plus Ultra is a Paladin Armada crew that focuses on exploration and various hero duties and living up that ✨Sunny Tropical Island life!✨ Made up of a crew of people who focus on helping others, rescue missions and exploring. Alongside helping their crewmates with their own developments! While they do recruit corsairs, they hope to always be a crew that always works for the good of others. They are a crew that likes to protect others, make allies and friends and fight for others when they can't protect themselves.

The crew was originally created by Izuku Midoriya and later passed down to Roxas and Sora who have adopted the crew as their own and have adapted to making the crew even better.

Pitch: They currently have an island called Hero's Rest that is half constructed. They are almost done with the Coliseum Training Grounds and will be holding a whole fighting tournament very soon!! Everyone is welcome to join in on that.

About: As I said on my OOC intro... He's the worse, eviler version of Tails. My app is here if you want a full rundown, but otherwise he and Surge basically have no idea who they are because Starline (bad guy) got ahold of them and hypnotized them/traumatized them/reprogrammed the robot parts of them to the point they have no clue!

Now as a result of that, Kit really does act traumatized and messed up man. He's timid, scared, and has no backbone to speak of, being completely dependent on Surge—basically Starline's interpretation of what Tails is. On my review for him I found that his stuttering record is f-f-f-f-f-five but I probably won't crank it up that much...

Where they left off in their canon, Kitsunami realized Surge like... actually wants to be a hero. This wasn't his own plan but because Surge is the specialest girl ever, he's willing to make that happen even if it means he's got to be the one to kick up trouble for her to save people from. Goal #2 is to kill Tails though. Good luck out there little buddy.

Abilities: Water! Kitsunami is hydrokinetic, and he's already got his tattoo since it was either that or prompt 3 of his TDM was having a breakdown about not being useful to Surge... That may be fun to play with for later but for now he controls water.

PLANS

General: Short term plans: Settle in and make friends. Long-term plans: Harass Sonic and Tails as much as their players are okay with. He's also a corsair while Surge is a paladin which I think is funny, he might need some corsair friends to help him cope here. Otherwise, I just got here so I'll need to put together some building blocks so that this section can be a little bit more robust next time around!
MANTA Board: Drowned in Silence could be smn... No Rift Like Home... I'm open-minded but those are the ones that stand out to me!
Event: Probably top leveling... No concrete ideas yet, but open to whatever. Probably going to have a shared prompt with Surge in case anybody wants to interact with both of them!

CR Dreams: I want Kit to make more friends so bad he and Surge are heavily codependent so I think it'd be cute for him to spread out a little more. He's also going to be stink eyeing the entire Sonic cast except for, like, Espio so he could use a hand here. But if anyone says anything bad about Surge its jover.

About: As Starline made her to be, "a volatile punk with an unchecked ego". She's a confident in her actions and believe she can do anything, nothing really puts her down aside from not being able to kill Sonic the Hedgehog. She wants to kill him very bad, this is a main personality trait. Aside from that, she's a girl who jumps first and thinks later. What she really wants is to be a hero by helping people so they can like her, she's went a very long time being used as a tool for others or hated because by design, she has to kill Sonic, and people would hate that right? Ofc. But if she plays the role of a hero while ALSO inevitably killing Sonic along the way, people have to love her because she's been watching over them!

She's also very bad at controlling herself, Surge has a temper that isn't good for anyone because when she explodes, she... does, electricity springs from her body and she basically has a breakdown. It happens a lot when she starts to doubt her worth and think people are going to take advantage of her. Her whole life has been a lie so far, so trying to make a name for herself has been difficult, but she's trying really hard for the sake of her and Kitsunami.

While Surge isn't the smartest tool in the shed, she sticks to her guns and personal beliefs. She knows what she wants to do and aspires to do it, the girl will get things done no matter the cost. The only problem is that when it comes to Sonic and his friends, she needs them dead in Miami.

Abilities: Surge's talents are in her electrokinesis, so think of her like a Pikachu, she can absorb or hold in electricity and use it however she likes. I think along the way playing with magnetism with what she can already do could be fun, I'll have to think on it as I go. But for her tattoo, she got it late in the TDM so she'll be wreaking havoc soon with her normal powers.

PLANS

General: As of right now, just settling her in and letting her scope what's at her disposal. She's a Paladin so she'd probably want to link up with other Paladins to see how they go about "hero-ing" out around here.
MANTA Board: I'm very open to doing whatever since Surge can be put into anything, she's that obnoxious, but Sin Unpunished looks fun for her because duh, they're going to be HEROES!! Tara-Tam Deepcroft, Eltrut Snap, anything really.
Event: I'll probably tag out, Kitsunami will have a post that features Surge if you want both of them.

CR Dreams: Well, Surge has never had an actual "life" so I guess actually being able to live and not feel like she has to kill Sonic to have her freedom. To her, she feels held down by chains as long as he lives, and that she'll never know true happiness or have anything to call her own with him around. I think having people who can withstand her hardheadedness and can see things through to the end with her so she's able to have more faith in others and think that maybe she can trust people that can like her for her, and not think she's a villain because of how she does things.

About: Espio at first impression is a super serious ninja who is wise beyond his years. Part of this is true, but he's also a highly competitive teenager, loves a challenge, and loves being Right. He technically has an ego, but he puts on a facade of being too cool for that. At the end of the day, he's a good loyal friend, but he is so loyal that he's willing to Kill a Man for you so take it as you will.

Abilities: Ninja bullshit, "camouflages" which is just effectively him turning invisible, windstorm for ninja reasons

About: My thousand year chaotic gremlin child who shapeshifts into various animals and people because that's who Nimona is. Tragic backstory, but getting better with help from her CR in this world. Her world kinda sucks, but there's hope on the horizon! Kinda enjoys being a little violent and destructive, will 100% bother the most stoic and serious people just because it's fun. Does enjoy fellow chaotic gremlins to get into trouble with.

Abilities: Shapeshifts into pink animals, into people (this could include you!), and has an ability upgrade that now includes new Escordvi/other world creatures. I'm gonna make her be a chocobo soooo fast.

General: She's learning how to shoot guns, gonna become a chocobo and some of her other favorite animals outside her world. There's going to be a network post about tattoos maybe... next week?

About: Dion is a prince, a knight, more recently a rebel, and an all-around do-gooder who's earnest, humble, kind, and well-intentioned. He's also a stereotypical Dragoon character from Final Fantasy who can be emo and melancholy but really just wants what's best for people. He also has a hell of a sin he feels he needs to atone for, and will most likely be Helping People to keep busy, to continue to atone, and also just because he genuinely believes he's been given his power to help others and has a responsibility to do so.

Abilities: As a Dominant of Bahamut, the Warden of Light, Dion has a lot of light-based abilities like lasers, but can also release force blasts that damage and knock down foes and can, if he's under a lot of duress, turn into a tiny dragon. Eventually, he'll work himself back to being able to turn into a very large dragon, but at the moment, shoulder Bahamut is all he's capable of, and that very rarely.

He does have a semi-primed form in which he has draconic wings, a tail, horns, and can use most power as well as have increased durability, agility, and speed, but that's draining as well. Most of the time, he lets his lance do the talking in combat, and as a dragoon, he is an acrobatic fighter who does a lot of leaps and flips in combat.

PLANS

General: At the moment, Dion is settling into the idea of 1) not being dead, 2) having been here before, and 3) figuring out where he fits in this strange and fantastic new world. I'd like him to make friends, to go on adventures, and to just get settled.

About: neve is a cynical private investigator with trust issues the size of the known world and a heart of gold buried within. she's known to work herself into the ground, fights for the lower class, and won't stop until the job is done, whatever it is. she doesn't trust easily — she's a mage from a place where the old-bloods are trying to literally breed the perfect mage and she learned from an early age to be wary of those who only want her to help their own social standing — but once she does, she's a steadfast friend for life. she responds well to kindness, cynicism, jokes, teasing, and genuine charm. unlikely to get physically intimate with anyone she doesn't have an emotional connection with, a part of her is very tactile, just buried deep in caution and distrust.

Abilities: She's a frost mage with a lot of ice-based magical abilities, but she's also a well-known private investigator. So she has a bunch of "detail oriented" abilities like reading people well, memorizing handwriting and what little tells mean.

PLANS

General: I want to get her set-up as either an information trader or a private investigator for anyone who might want those services. Maybe both. Probably both. She's got an eye for info and I'll have a notes post in her journal for things she knows and learns, but I'd love to use it as a change to gain more CR. She's good at finding things, finding people, making connections she can pull on for information later. I'll be getting her an intro-ish post up soon to get the ball rolling on connections, but I'm still happy to tag her TDM thread still.
MANTA Board: Thinking about maybe doing something with the Drowned In Silence prompt, as finding missing people is right up her alley. As would the Tara-Tam Deepcroft. Basically, any of the ones requiring her expertise at finding things or people? I'm there.
Event: Haven't looked too deeply yet, but if there's water, she'd love to be involved. It'll be interesting if there's merfolk transformation involved, since she has a prosthetic leg, but that would be fun to also delve into.

CR Dreams: She's a realist mom-type, not always emotionally available, but has a good heart. Would love to find people for her to help, connections to make to start her off, people who can start to do what canon was doing i.e. showing her that she isn't always alone and she can rely on other people for help.

Canon: Uncanny X-Force Volume 1, Issue 27 just after getting his heart cut out

About: Betsy described him once as a hall of mirrors without end, and that is exactly what Jean-Phillipe is. He was created as a Weapon (capital W) and a Sentinel and was designed to assassinate mutants. He rebelled against that idea and went into hiding, begging sanctuary with the X-Men and the rest in history. Seeing as he's an artificially created mutant with his own mutant ability, he was able to hide well among them, and then he grew a tumor of concern for most of them (and a love for Psylocke) and then he was in too deep to get out.

He's flippant and crass and willing to do a lot of things most others aren't, but he's also cultured and enjoys the finer things in life. He doesn't have much patience for stupidity and he's not afraid to tell you when he thinks you're being stupid, either. He does want to do the right thing, though, but for Jean-Phillipe, the ends really do justify the means.

Abilities: His powers are silly but also a lot so I'm going to refer people to his app for information

About: Over all we're a laid-back group that, much like the mercenaries that Zack and Cloud were supposed to be, will take on just about any job. Adventuring. Hunting. You name it, the crew is pretty open to doing it!

Cloud got bothered into creating this ship and, honestly, tried to get out of being the captain. The leviathan said no, so here we are. It's named in honor of the 7th Heaven bar, a symbolic name so that anyone that comes their way can find a place to belong. A home away from home. It doesn't matter if you're a Paladin or Corsair.

Pitch: If you're looking for the "found family" trope, this is the place you want to be. Everyone is fiercely loyal and family oriented - ready to rip apart anyone that threatens or hurts any and all of the crew members. There's a functioning bar and grill as well as Cloud's delivery service! If you're looking to make some money, well come aboard!

- Gamewise, she's got the Compasses of Desire/Light, Dowsing Blade, Bubble Shield, Camouflage Cloak, and some nifty armor thanks to a quest.

I do need to start coming up with ideas for what she can do with the tattoo, but mind's been blank. Happy to have any suggestions!

General: I'm thinking of saving up rewards to get Della a plane! Maybe not her beloved ~~Sunchaser~~ Cloudslayer but a replica. IDK if I'll make an open log with her for the month, we'll see.

Event: I may actually not do the event due to... Della's... um, absolute hatred and disgust of the ocean and anything that lives underneath there. In canon she tried to blow up mermaids with submarine missiles. ("mel why did you app a character that hates the ocean to an ocean-based game" because i thought it would be funny and i've yet to be proven wrong)

If someone really wants her there, you may literally have to drag her kicking and screaming =P
CR Dreams: Does your character want a mom/aunt figure??? She will adopt you without any hesitation. Or your say-so.
