CR WORKSHIP: MAY 2025

Our ~~CR Meme~~ CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Canon: My Hero Academia - prior to the final confrontation with the PLF when he's still undercover.

About: Hawks is a friendly outgoing individual, most of the time. Most notably he's got a massive pair of wings on his back, as his quirk is the most physically remarkable thing about him. He's easygoing, for the most part, and as a professional hero is passionate about doing the right thing. Unlike most heroes, he's pretty familiar with a grey morality, where the good are not always good and the bad are not always bad.

All of that is part of his relaxed persona. Underneath that all, Hawks is incredibly calculating, intelligent and often trying to play situations ten or more steps ahead. He is also more naturally inclined to be introverted, but he's doing the job such as it is. He's also a secret agent, meaning espionage and assassination have been on the table in the name of the greater good, at least, that's the excuse the Commission gives him. He tries his best to be unassuming and non threatening because his mutations are particularly predator-oriented which when he leans into it, he can make quite a terrifying sight.

Abilities: Hawks' quirk is his wings. He can manipulate his hundreds of feathers at once telekinetically. They also allow him flight, and the speed that comes with that. His top speed is well over 900 km/h, so he can get just about anywhere he wants pretty quickly. These abilities he's very forthcoming about.

Few people know that his feathers also pick up and emit vibrations. He can 'see' through echolocation, by sending his feathers places, and he can pick up sounds and vibrations. In fact, the majority of the time he's hearing through his feathers because his headphones block out the sound. Both are great skills for espionage, but he's not inclined to use them that way unless for some reason he has to.

PLANS

General: Welcome to spring time, Hawks is definitely molting, which means his feathers are looking a little rough and probably shedding here and there. He doesn't have his Commission groomers to make quick work of it, so uh, sorry about that everyone? Fortunately those discarded feathers no longer pick anything up, they're essentially dead. He's going to be a little embarrassed for looking so scruffy.

Character: Benedikta Harman
Canon: Final Fantasy XVI, post Wings of Change.

About: Benedikta Harman is a woman who is all about her survival and self-preservation first and foremost. Having climbed out of the depths of a cruel and terrible youth, she ascended to a place of power within the Kingdom of Waloed after being rescued, thanks to her talents in subterfuge and swordplay, as well as being the Dominant of the Eikon Garuda. Now the Head of the Elite Intelligencers, Waloed's spies, she is—or was, in the case of Escordvi—fiercely loyal to her king. However, not everything is as it seems with her.

She is loyal, but to a fault. And although things have changed for her since coming to Escordvi, she can still be the ruthless, cold-hearted, guarded woman that she has grown up to be. Deep down, however, she is merely a woman who has sought love and validation all her life, and a need to be useful, and once found it in all the wrong places. And now, after recent developments and revelations, she has found it and is working on healing those old wounds born from betrayal and loneliness, as well as trying to live a life that she was robbed of in the past.

Abilities:

🗡️ MAGIC: In canon, she can wield strong wind magic, such as summoning tornadoes and violent gales, and can also teleport herself and anyone else she chooses to another location. Benedikta can also summon her egis, Suparna and Chirada (wind-based elementals). Over time, she's developed her own magic separate of Garuda's that don't require her aether to use, such as wings, healing winds, and most recently, transforming her arms into claws similar to those that she uses in canon.

🗡️ GARUDA: Being the Dominant of Garuda, she is able to take on two forms of the Eikon: semi-primed and fully primed by drawing upon her aether. When she is semi-primed, she grows a set of large feathered wings, has glowing green marks over her skin, and bright blue eyes. She is fast, agile, and powerful, and can summon claws that are large enough to tear apart buildings. When she is primed, she transforms into the much larger version of her Eikon. Under Garuda's influence, she can summon powerful, devastating wind storms. At the moment, she refuses to use too much of Garuda's power, and though Garuda is present again, Benedikta only uses her magic under dire circumstances.

PLANS

General: I have quite a few general things lined up for her that I am (tentatively) excited about! Just need to get them off the ground!

🗡️ First things first, Benedikta's sanctuary on the Hideaway's island, The Roost. She has been taking in women mostly at the moment who need a safe place to stay or who had been in bad circumstances, but that will likely expand in the future to children should the opportunity arise. There will likely be "quests" involved, such as helping with remodelling, training, supply fetching, and of course saving people. I am just putting feelers out at the moment, but if anyone would be interested in helping her with this, I'm open to discussion! I'd only ask that anyone who does gets CR with her first before going any further with it, whether it be bringing people there or assisting with other tasks.

🗡️ She is still looking into the rifts, so any place where there is potential to find something, she will be there. She'd like to close them forever, everyone else be damned, so... :)

🗡️ Because her FFXVI curse has worsened due to recent events, she's going to be looking for more ways to cure it. Alfyn was able to lessen the pain that comes with it, but she would like to cure it completely.

🗡️ After the abductions last month, she is currently laying low while looking into the other half of a merchant couple who escaped. She doesn't know where she is, but she is trying to find her.

🗡️ She kind of ruined the chocobo stables on the Roost last month, so if anyone wants to help her fix those... :(

🗡️ Except I'm making her take a vacation. No more stress for a month.

MANTA Board:

🗡️ She'll be helping arrange and going on the treasure hunt with Cid and co. this month, so I'll likely be poking around that log.

🗡️ I think Feather Me This would be hilarious.

🗡️ I also think some rift shenanigans would be hilarious, so if anyone wants an angry birdie dropping in on them, I am game.

🗡️ She could be convinced to do Eltrut Snap with someone. 100 dubloons per photo is not a bad payout.

🗡️ The Things We Do for Cheese! Honestly, she'd be pissed about it at first, but who doesn't like cheese???

🗡️ Corsairs of Victory. While she can't shoot a gun, she would be a great partner for anyone who would like to cheat with guns!

🗡️ Also open to the No Sin Unpunished and Cat Kneads bounties!

🗡️ And any of the special quests as well (including crew quests for Hideaway people!)

Event: I'm going to be turning her into a mermaid this year OR SO HELP ME. She didn't get to go to Pearlhaven last year after she primed into Garuda, so I get to do it this year! So she'll be down in the water looking for Elah. She does feel a little bad for the whale. Not really sure what else yet, but I'll be open to plotting once the log goes up!

CR Dreams: Honestly, I'm great with any kind of CR but Benedikta isn't the most pleasant person sometimes so anyone who is okay with possibly negative CR would be ideal. To a much lesser extent these days but still possible: people she can manipulate into doing her bidding, or people she can team up with and then betray later, whether they are paladin or corsair, she will take them. She does have a bit of a soft and protective spot for younger girls (especially any who have had troubled pasts), so I would adore exploring that, if any want to come rest under her wings. Also, I love pitting her against people who are really good at getting under her skin. But honestly, just give me all kinds of CR, I'm here for it. She does get along with like-minded people, so anyone who is just as ruthless and cutthroat as she is, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

And some other gal pals would be super cool.

About: Actual disaster. Dual personalities, tends to flit from being posh/flirtatious to moody, depressed, and angry a lot. Worked on a secret mercenary hit squad that really just made the world worse on accident. Died and remembers every feeling of dying and then being remade by her interesting brother. Has a twin. Has been viciously used by a lot of men, manipulated, brainwashed, forced to do things she wouldn't usually do, had her control taken, really just had a Not Great life for a lot of years. BUT it's made her unafraid to get her hands dirty and make the really shitty choices nobody else will.

But also might be destroying her to do so. Who knows. She pretends she's fine.

Abilities: Telepathic/telekinetic abilities. Will have permissions post for telepathy. Even if she's really rude with it, I am not.

PLANS

General: Find somewhere to get drunk? Is that a great plan? Learn as much as she can about this place, find connections that can tell her more about this place, look she really likes recon. Try to do anything at all to distract herself from the fact that her brother is dead back home and so are both her lovers (except one is here now...)
Event: I will probably try to tag out since I am a nervous person about doing toplevels haha

CR Dreams: Female friendships probably!! The X-Men used to be huge on their female friendships but lately that kind of got shafted. She's big on protecting and hyping women up, making shitty decisions for people so that they can continue to be innocent/idealistic, throwing herself at protecting people and helping them. So, just things like that.

People she can actually talk to about her trauma or people she can help with THEIR trauma, Marvel telepaths can do a lot to help people with their powers and she's usually used hers for violent means so actually helping someone would be a nice change.

And also just getting involved. She'll need things to throw herself into in order to avoid thinking about her insane life so she'll be searching for that. Be it adventures, being used by other people to do things, or just silly things I'm easy and down for anything at all!

She's been a teacher for combat so if anyone needs help learning to fight or learning to use their powers, she can do that.

Canon: Final Fantasy VII (Rebirth Chapter 9)

About: Tifa is the "Mom Friend" if there ever was one. She is a kind, empathetic, patient, protective soul who is always looking out for others. Sociable and friendly as she can be, she's much more reserved than she appears—she never wears her heart on her sleeve and keeps her emotions close, and prefers to talk about anything but herself. But don't let her shy, timid exterior fool you. She is a savvy business woman who ran a bar and can kick a lot of ass, too.

Internally, Tifa is carries a lot of grief and anger, and has had plenty losses in life, is incredibly self-critical, and it's because of this that she is always pushing herself to do better. She'll always try to think things through first and put on a smile for others, but deep down beneath all of that is a woman still struggling from her past. In spite of her anger and her past, she is still always trying to do the right thing and to help anyone in need, and treat everyone with kindness, regardless of who they are or where they come from.

Abilities: Tifa is fully trained and skilled in hand-to-hand combat (think Final Fantasy Monk) her main weapon being her gloves (ranging from knuckles to claws). Tifa utilizes the use of materia to perform magic. Depending on what materia she has equipped, she is able to use various types of magic: elemental, healing, buffing, debuffing, and protective. There are also special summoning materias that can call the different summons to fight alongside her. She has Ifrit equipped on her at the moment. As for her tattoo, she'll be specializing in fire magic as that's the materia she came equipped with upon crash-landing in Escordvi! I might have her switch her tattoo to water in the near future, though, and keep the fire materia.

PLANS

General:

🌠 Tifa is still running the Seventh Heaven Bar and Grill, so people are always welcome to come by and say hi!

🌠 My dream for her here is to do some martial arts teaching, but less the kicky punchy kind (though if anyone wants to learn how to kick and punch, she's your gal!) and more about the strengthening of the body and soul to do it. I want her to pass on Zangan's teachings to people, as well as some stuff that she has learned over time. So it would involve a lot of strength training, inner reflection and meditation, and stretches as well!

🌠 I am having a little trouble finding a different sort of path for her here, so just trying to navigate that would be good. Mostly on the emotional side of things. I'd like for her to make some more friends as well as deepen the bonds that she has already made.

🌠 I do have plans on canon updating her to post-Rebirth once I have the time! Hopefully sometime this summer, I'll sit down and write up that canon update.

What I can offer in return is a mom/big sis figure, a kind/patient/loving/understanding friend, a kickass martial artist, a great cook/bartender, and just an all-around good person. Mainly, I just really want her to make more friends here.

Also please, I am on my hands and knees begging for more female friends!!!

What if Clifford the Big Red Dog came in the form of a really friendly and large 7ft+ tiefling woman? That's Karlach. Aside from her recent adventures in Faerun, she's been stuck as a conscripted soldier in the hells for about 10 years, so she's extremely grateful for every day she's under a blue sky.

She might have once been the scourge of the hells, but now she just wants to make friends and have a good time.

Abilities:
As you'd imagine, she's strong and carries a big axe. Barbarians are fairly straightforward, but Karlach is also a wildheart so she has an additional bonus of being able to speak with animals and the ability to keep her footing on almost any terrain.

Plus the obvious fact that her entire body is constantly on fire due to her infernal engine. Her tattoo is only used to control her engine somewhat.

PLANS

General:
It has been a very busy and trying time with the arrests and then with the brands coming right after. As someone who already couldn't touch others, being forced to further proximity is unbearable. Karlach has been somewhat in her own head about it, especially because she's taking this betrayal of the armada somewhat hard.

Right now, Karlach is trying to keep busy and active so the bad thoughts don't get her.

I would love to fetch her some new CR or deepen current bonds this month.

About: Just about your average gyaru highschooler, right up until a stupid bet got her abducted by aliens. And you should have seen the other guy! He got cursed by a youkai! At least Momo walked away from that encounter intact—literally—and awakened her previously dormant psychic abilities. They're fresh and new so she's still learning what she is capable of and how to do it. Her grandmother, a powerful spirit medium (sans psychic abilities), has been helping to guide her. As much as she can anyway.

The powers were kind of unexpected.

It's made Momo very interested in the occult and supernatural as a result. Which is a big development as someone who has previously spent her life denying it and her own grandmother's profession.

She is cheerful, clever, friendly, brash, and pretty much always ready to get into a fight. Messing up her nails or makeup be damned.

General:
UHHHHH, so did anyone else notice the whale vanished? Momo sure did and she's never been happier that she made the decision to go join a crew. Couldn't have happened at a better time really! She has been having a hard time really wrapping her head around what the deal is between the Paladin/Corsair tensions and finds most it to be completely stupid.

Mostly looking for Momo to make new connections and get her out there more. I'm happy to get her involved in whatever feels right for her.

She is also having a hard time adjusting to life here since she's used to the luxuries of modern day Japan. And her grandma being around.

we talked a little about things we could do with these two. i am still very much interested in cr with both of your girls. i think they could both be very good for neve and she for them! any kind of cr with neve takes Time, but she will offer her services as investigator to the world at large as soon as i get my butt in gear for a shellphone post, so that could be a decent place to start.

the only thing i will say is neve doesn't take well to being betrayed - she has a lot of abandonment issues - but she's good with grumpy people and is in the same "will literally do (almost) anything it takes to protect and save people / get the job done" boat. ANYWAY i will gladly throw neve at benna, or i'd love to have benna thrown at neve, and we can see what happens!

they've already got a leg up on cr, so i'd love to gently prod for more :> it's time for someone to tell tifa to sit down and take care of herself. while neve fully and willingly acknowledges that she's terrible at that, if it's turned back on her lmao neve could always use help with her investigating, too. she's always looking to build more connections and the proprietor of a bar is definitely a prime contender there. tifa'll get more rumors than most and that's what neve looks for.

also hilarious fun fact of the day: neve can't cook and the coffee she made was once compared to snake venom. soooo that could also be a fun little thing for them at some point?

absolutely!! she's good with all kinds and having met him in a less than ideal situation will help kind of nudge their cr in the right direction from the start. she can be difficult to make friends with quickly, but i think roxas is used to that XD
