Our CR Meme CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

Canon: Act 3, before meeting with Mystra.

About: Gale is a Wizard with a capital W, meaning magic is his entire life and his whole heart. He is a former prodigy who was found so talented that he drew the attention of Mystra, goddess of magic, and went on to become her Chosen as well as her lover, until he defied her in the name of his own ambition and their relationship came to a swift end. He continues to pay the price for his ambitions and tampering with forbidden magic, but even tired and worn down as he is, he is a pleasant personality who puts on a good face when possible and is thrilled to discuss a good book or chat about magic theory whenever he gets the chance. He's also frequently accompanied by his assistant/familiar Tara, who is a tressym— basically a magical talking, flying cat. More information can be found at his app and the BG3 Wiki!

Abilities: Capable of all kinds of magic, right down to creating his own spells and composing the Weave to bow to his whims when at full power. Though he is currently debuffed due to the orb of destructive magic that's now housed within him, he has worked hard and regained access to a wide array of spells, and has been interested in tapping into elemental energy here in Escordvi to use it the way he would manipulate the Weave back home. He's regained some of his ability to conjure illusions freely, as well, though large-scale or long-term conjurations are exhausting and must be used sparingly. He has made use of his Escordvi tattoo to add some minor healing/restorative magic to his repertoire for balance.

PLANS

General: I've had some long-term wants cooking for Gale for awhile, but real life kept me from being able to develop them as I would have liked, so in the coming months he is going to continue to deteriorate and show more and more signs of general discomfort and unwellness. He's just about at the point where he won't be able to disguise it anymore and his adventuring outings will be sporadic (but not cease entirely). He's also currently doing some deep research regarding the Annals of Karsus, which has been with him since his arrival, but has not been a priority until recently as he is far from the subject said research pertains to. Despite his continued illness, I would like him to start giving magic lessons to those who are interested, as acquaintances have made requests to that effect in the past and it will help him to keep pushing forward. In the meantime, he will be looking for ways to alleviate the symptoms caused by the orb in addition to a way to diffuse it.
MANTA Board: I can usually make Gale work for any available quest, but currently particularly interested in:

Event: Unsure if he'll be top-leveling or not, but Gale is fascinated by the developments with the ruins and will be participating despite his current struggles— he's most likely going to be heading to the Frozen Tundra with the Paladins to do some investigating and will tag around at the very least, but I am very interested in having him confront some past actions using the lost reflections, so a top-level may serve that well.

CR Dreams: I always welcome all comers, but here's a quick rundown of easy jumping off points.

About: At his most basic, Roxas is the what happens if you take the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts, Sora, and put him on mute. He's an oddity in the world, but has finally fought through trials and tribulations to be his own person. And then he ended up in a pirate world just before he could start figuring out his life. It's been a time.

But overall, he's a friendly kid whose walls come down easily enough. Though watch out for that short temper.

Also he's cooler than Sora

Abilities: Roxas can wield two keyblades and use a variety of elemental magic and some healing.

PLANS

General:
-The Plus Ultra Crew is gonna be shaking a few things up and Roxas will probably be playing catch up with that. There's a lot to keep track of now, and he's been interim captain

-Definitely going to be having some Feelings with regards to Sora and his arrival. What else is new?

-Still working on Constellation stuff and will probably be digging into that since there have been Updates! Maybe doing some ruin exploring! Or just climbing to the tallest part for the fun of it.

-Still looking to fix up a place for Skateboarding, and maybe he'll sneak around to do some of that illegally.

MANTA Board:
-I did like the look of Waterlogged writing, but I am open to any quests!

Event:
-Roxas will probably be heading into the Tundra, though it's hard to say if he will be having a good time. He's got a lot of not great memories and a lot of them are tinged with grief in general.

-But he'll do his best to collect some pink rocks and maybe get stuck sliding around on the ice. Kid's used to cobblestones.

About: (info post) Jack Frost, as the myth says, is a playful spirit that likes to play pranks and drop snow under your shirt. He died as a teenager and will forever be stuck in a teen-like attitude, but he also is 300 and sometimes the old man does show his face when it comes to certain matters. Jack spent those 300 years without being seen or heard, so he's been very lonely and now he's desperate for affection. He's recently become a Guardian (aka a protector of children), so he's learning to be a little more responsible while still keeping his HAVE FUN philosophy. Children and teens will meet a caring old brother, adults will meet a trolling little shit.

Abilities: Jack will keep his canon powers! That includes spirit biology, flying, and everything related to winter (ice, snow, wind, storms, etc). He also has fun magic that can charm people, but I won't be using that without talking to the other player first. If your character is very observant or can sense stuff, please check out his permissions post!

General: For now, my goal is for him to learn to socialize and form relationships. I'll definitely get him involved in game stuff, but I wanna see what the next events bring us and decide as information is learned. (Getting him a familiar would be cool...)

Event: ...listen. Jack is already offended that the Paladins got the cool colors. Now they get the cool area as well? Not fair! Basically, I want to sneak him into the Frozen Tundra. He may get into trouble for this, we shall see the details of the event. All the prompts look interesting, but I don't wanna make lots of plans because I'm already anticipating asking the poor mods a bunch of questions about the kind of stuff Jack will feel in that area considering his powers (I'm so sorry, mods). So it's all a big IT DEPENDS? If your character is a strict Paladin that may stop him because he's a Corsair, that can be arranged already. No matter what happens or what answers I get, he won't be going to the desert, it could kill him.

CR Dreams: Obligatory "all of it"! But to be specific: Jack never had friends, so my main goal is just getting people that he can hang out with, that he actually enjoys their company for the sake of it. He needs to learn to forge bonds beyond forming an army of NPC children. Also while he definitely has a problem with authority and an inner 300-year-old man, he's still a lonely teenager, so it would be really nice if he could have mentors/parental figures/anything in those vibes that check on him and would like to protect him - he's used to playing older brother and being independent, now he needs an actual family.

Thanks to jamjar magic, everyone can see Jack here. People are welcome to recognize his name (it makes him happy) and the myth, to make nose nipping and Michael Keaton jokes - the only no is 4th walling the actual movie. Jack is also a little shit and a prankster, so don't hesitate to bring in the negative CR is that's where the thread goes. He can indeed be an annoying troll, especially to the grumpy characters.

Etc.: I'm willing to keep the TDM threads as canon! Had a crazy first week of the year at work because of holiday delays so I apologize for the slowness, but I'm jumping back on all my threads tomorrow. Also if none of the things list here work for you, hit me up anyway, we can plot something to make our characters meet in a random situation.

About: Beat is a loud skater boy who looks and talks like a punk, but he has a gooey, soft center. He's 100% loyal to those he calls his friends and has a bit of a martyr complex, more than willing to take a punch and throw one back to protect people who cannot protect themselves even if it puts himself in harm's way. If anyone needs a big brother, a new best friend, or a wingman (with varying degrees of success), Beat is your guy.

Abilities: Beat has the ability to use psychs from the pins he has on him. He only has the Burnin' Boar pin which allows him to tackle others in a ball of fire. He can also Soundsurf through his music, giving himself and whoever he syncs up with a boost in speed.

His tattoo is of a red and black flying squirrel with decals for wings on his right upper arm and shoulder, almost like it's perching there. It's usually hidden underneath his hoodie, but can be seen when it's off as he wears a sleeveless shirt underneath.

PLANS

General: Beat memories of Songerein is coming back to him at the end of the month! So if he knew your character in Songerien, he might be a little more friendly or awkward with you, depending on how his relationship was with your character. This might not happen until February, but figured it was worth giving a bit of a heads-up.

MANTA Board: No catch-all/post for Beat this month, but I am interested in Puppy Unloved, Barenaked Birdies, The Great Singalong, The House That Watches, and The Last Shadow Afloat. Totally cool to do The Great Singalong together with The Great Self Reflection to see how things pan out being on opposing sides. ALSO if you want to see Beat in a dress, put him in a dress.

Event: Going to just tag around for this one, but Beat might look into collecting dragon scales in the desert. I think it would also be cool to have a thread involving the coliseum, facing fears, and frozen in time. Beat feels a lot and isn't afraid to show it, so it might be an interesting hook to have him deal with the latter two for the event. If I decide to TL, it will likely have a prompt for those.

CR Dreams: Beat is still relatively new, so I am open to everything! Let him have new friends, or strike up a rivaly with someone. It'll be cool if he finds someone here who might be a good parental/mentor figure to him because he has a bad relationship with his parents. He is also very gullible, and loves competition, so there's potential for CR there, too.

About: teenage edition of kingdom hearts's overarching villain - yes the old bald guy - from before all the darkness and manipulation. raised isolated from society for the first fourteen years of his life, eventually gets dumped on the doorstep of what is essentially Keyblade High School and makes a group of close friends whom he deeply adores. i am sure nothing will happen to them and everything is going to be just fine. inquisitive and open-minded, has the odd combination of a wide berth of knowledge (from studying) and very narrow lived experience (from the isolation). can come across as a bit defensive and moody, but is genuinely kind and caring. wants to make friends. nerd/jock/goth all at once, somehow.

Abilities: wields a keyblade, sort of an everytool that can cut, bludgeon, cast spells and open/close most kinds of "locks", including metaphorical ones. it is a summonable weapon that he can also use to equip armour (second from the right). despite being an underclassman, he is an adept spellcaster with a range of elemental magicks, light, and healing spells. very competent swordsman, but as a trainee still occasionally slips into overly formal stances.

xehanort is also an empath - he gets a vague aura-like read of people's emotions, particularly those of strong positive or negative association. with physical contact, this ability becomes stronger. a lot of the time, he keeps the empath stuff tamped down as best he can, because he knows it's sort of invasive and it can be overwhelming to him. it can get especially so here in escordvi where there's more people that he's ever been around before.

PLANS

General: he is settling in and most people have been lovely to him... the concept of this guy having Good Influences is really just. a lot. id like to get him into more fights bc i love writing action and he IS a tough little bastard, but really... the plan is to have him exist and learn relatively peacefully, and help out where he can, at least for now. there is also CHESS CLUB!!!!! which should really have something going on soon. he didnt mean to start a whole club but here we are.
MANTA Board: ive tagged into one of the infinity fabrics posts and may tag others with that prompt. as a paladin and a nerd he is also likely to want to help with the waterlogged writings, too. and speaking of action, if a partner would like to go with him to help take down the nega-sacabambapsis, that might be fun!! he has lightning magic (only average at it though), so that's an advantage.
Event: will probably toplevel and tag out on the fly. due to being weak to the cold, he might try and sneak more into the desert, so if you're a corsair looking for an argument or an unlikely assist, xehanort might be your guy.

CR Dreams: kicks him. honestly hes doing pretty well-?! got some dads, got some friends, got some... awkward... canonmate situations... more friends would be great tbh. he is a lonely sort of person, and keeping good company really helps him stay grounded. but i like negative cr too!! he is quiet and introverted, but also could use a sparring partner or two if anyone is up for that.

About: drayton is annoying. he is one of blueberry academy's elite four, a dragon-type pokemon trainer. frustratingly perceptive, he will use every bit of knowledge he's picked up to be as irritating as possible. or, rather, he would, if he wasn't nerfed by being the laziest boy in existence. despite clearly being capable and intelligent, he's been held back three times (he thinks. even he isn't sure); in his own words, "not made for classroom learning". an extrovert too unmotivated to actually be bothered with the "extro-" part. despite that, he's not a bad person. he will tease relentlessly and stick his nose into other people's business, but it's pretty much always for a greater net positive purpose.

Abilities: normal as hell average teenager, aside from possessing a sharp mind that he inactively chooses to squander. his pokemon on-hand, though, is his archaludon. a steel/dragon type, extremely tough with a range of special attacks. very difficult to defeat without hitting one of its few weaknesses (ground-, and fighting-type attacks), which sounds simple but this guy has insane defense and an ability that boosts said defense every time he gets hit. even so, sweet-natured (actual nature: modest) pokemon! easier to make friends with than drayton is, really.

General: just got here, so has to settle in a bit. thankfully, extremely easy-going, so that won't be difficult. would love to get him out and about with a bit of pushing - archaludon is happy to be social, at least?? and if he's there, drayton's there, so... yeah.
MANTA Board: might shove him in some skirts for kicks lol. he wears his cape like one anyway, so i think he would have fun with the infinity fabrics quest.
Event: this guy spends a lot of time in the polar biome back home, so he is super used to the cold. he might be corsair, but will definitely take exploring the tundra over the desert. guess my guys just swapped locations?? oops. being brand new it probably won't land him too much in hot water, but a companion to explore with would be great. will probably make a toplevel for him! sort of playing by ear rn.

CR Dreams: this guy is fuckin annoying but in a charismatic way, so... yeah things can go either way with how people interpret him at first glance. again im kinda playing by ear here!! if nothing else, i can offer archaludon hugs (uncomfortable).

Canon: Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, in between Memories 8 and 9

About: Princess of the fantasy kingdom of Hyrule which is constantly being threatened or destroyed by the same green-skinned asshole (or sometimes the abstract concept of said-asshole's ceaseless hatred). Zelda grew up under tremendous pressure to awaken her divine powers and save everyone from destruction, but she failed and everyone died. One self-sacrifice and 100 years later, Hyrule is saved (for the moment) and Zelda gets to recover from her trauma and be happy... until she gets sent back in time and to do it again.

Generally, Zelda is a bright and friendly young woman who really, really likes science and has a bad habit of trying to sacrifice herself to save her kingdom. She will get all up in your business and make herself your problem whether you want her to or not.

Abilities: Zelda basically has two kinds of magic: light magic and time magic. She presently has tattoos that allow her to use both of them (but unbeknownst to her, her light magic tattoo has almost completely faded and is about to stop working). She also has her secret stone, a power amplifier that she wears on her person at all times. General: So here's some broad stuff rolling around in my head that I wanna do more with:

🌻 Zelda is officially forming her crew this month! 🎉🎉🎉 I'll be posting a closed log soon for her and the other founding members to go collect materials to get their ship. I am aiming to do recruiting next month as Zelda continues her desperate search to hire one single doctor/healer for her hospital ship lmao.
🌻 Also, I really really really want to have her more involved in exploring ruins and adventuring!! I haven't done much of this for months and I wanna make this a high priority.
🌻 During the Ghoul's Moon, Zelda got extremely drunk and accidentally told several people that she's actually a princess and not just a researcher like she pretends to be. (Zelda has been hiding her royal status since she arrived in Esco.) I would really love if this continued to get out, like being spread as rumors. Pls start rumors about Zelda lmfao (factual accuracy not required)! I'm very open to people asking her about this or saying they heard a rumor or w/e

MANTA Board: These are the ones that I'd really like to do!

🌻 Frost-kissed blossoms: Zelda loves plants. One of her favorite areas of study is botany.
🌻 Potion-permit: Since Zelda has no doctors/healers for her hospital ship, she really wants to get her hands on this potion and/or recipe!!
🌻 Waterlogged Writings: I'm thinking that Zelda could use Recall (her time magic) to restore books. And I really need her to read Pirate Women: The Princesses, Prostitutes, and Privateers Who Ruled the Seven Seas.

But I can pretty easily get Zelda involved with more or less any of the MANTA quests, so lmk if there's something else you wanna do.

Event:

I will not be top leveling, but I'm willing to plot out closed prompts if anyone would like. Otherwise, I'll be tagging around with Zelda.

I'm most interested in sending Zelda to the Desert Sands, even though she's a paladin. Dragons are a big deal in TOTK and even though Zelda's canon point is way before the Light Dragon, she is familiar with draconification as well as the other three dragon spirits that exist in Hyrule. Also, Zelda has very strong ties to the Gerudo Tribe, an all-female tribe of desert dwelling folk in Hyrule, as both her adoptive mom and her greatest enemy are Gerudo. Also my character in empatheias was aligned with Thras so I have to.

Given that Desert Sands will be Corsair controlled and Zelda is a Paladin, I'm happy to explore some potential negative repercussions related to that, like people being suspicious of her presence or trying to cockblock her explorations and research.

I'm most interested in collecting dragon scales and such for lore drops as well as potentially doing some stuff with facing fears.

CR Dreams: I'm always open to any kinds of new CR, but here's a handful of things I have in mind:

🌻 Quiet and/or grumpy characters who do not want a walking ray of sunshine to get all up in their business.

Abilities:

- Treasure hunts, fighting monsters, scale collecting? WOO-OO, that's her kind of livin'! She'll be eager to do all of these and happily encourage anyone with her.

- Facing Fears, however... hoo boy. She already has faced her fear of anything fish related (by just... being here) and the last event touched on her fear of still being stuck on the moon, so this time around? She'll likely see images of her sons, all of whom will berate her and say they don't love/forgive her. Being genre-savvy, she knows they aren't her real boys... but yeah, it's gunna fuck her up anyway, even if she is putting on a strong face about it. she'll need hugs.

About: Cyrus is a thirty year old professor with a deep and powerful love of all things knowledge, from learning about anything and everything to teaching and sharing that knowledge with others. Insanely curious and wildly effusive about it, Cyrus is deeply passionate and it comes through in all of his... everything. If you can think of something that is even remotely scholarly, he loves to do it. If there is something in the world he doesn't know, he wants to learn it. He loves to solve mysteries, deduce facts about people from observation (with varying levels of success) and of course, he loves loves loves to yap.

Important to know also is that Cyrus is like, insanely charming, to the point that he gets scolded by one of his party members and one of his NPCs because he does not seem to realize the effect that he has on people with his words. He is both super genuine and very eloquent and also completely oblivious to things like feelings directed towards himself and/or his neighbor's house being on fire (because he was reading a book.) Real 20 Charisma, 20 Intelligence, 2 Wisdom kind of guy.

Abilities: cyrus' number one ability is elemental magic. he's rocking fresh new tattoos to access his usual style of magics: fire, lightning, and ice! scholars are elementalists and that's his game. additionally, he is a master analytic (most of the time) and good at reading enemies for weaknesses. he could not punch his way out of a paper bag but he can definitely blow you up.

on the desert side: i'd love to do treasure hunting, by which i mean, stopping people from looting historical stuff or at least attempting to. the ARTIFACTS. :sob:

on the ice side: i'd love to do something with the reflections - i'd love to do some memsharing with others! i want to deepen some of my cr and i feel like greatest joy/greatest grief is a great time for that. alternatively, i'd love to help others through their rougher moments or experience their joys with them, esp if we haven't threaded yet! i love kickstarting cr at mach fuck.

About: Gohan seems like a shy, awkward kid at first glance, being unsure of himself and his abilities, and hesitating in his decisions for himself without someone to shove him in the right direction. However, his experiences have driven to work on overcoming this shell he's been trapped in for so long, learning to be more outgoing and sure of himself as time goes on. Fitting his awkward, friendly nature, he is gentle, kindhearted, and compassionate, always acting to help those in need, and a hero's heart burns deep within him.

Despite seeming like your dense, dimwitted hero at first, Gohan is *profoundly* intelligent, especially for his age. He's a true scholar, and takes great interest in furthering his knowledge, and will only grow more intelligent as time goes on. Just don't expect him to be able to read social cues properly.

Abilities: Because Gohan's abilities are all physical and tied to his genetic makeup, he's had relatively unmitigated access to his natural extreme strength, flight, and abilities to manipulate ki, as well as his Super Saiyan transformations, though he hasn't had many reasons to rely on the latter. He hasn't actually had much reason to explore the capabilities of the tattoos.

That's something I'd like to have change for him, either by someone encouraging him to look into it, or putting him into a situation where his own abilities might not be the optimal play. I'm thinking Gohan's magic would learn towards lightning, with electricity having infinite possibilities similar to Gohan's own untapped potential. By learning to harness this, he'd be able to augment his own abilities and also rely on something more than just his own strength as well.

PLANS

General: The crew Gohan's a part of is going through some big changes and seeing itself gain a new sudden leader as well as some new members, so it's going to be a hectic month for him on that front as he meets his new crewmates!
MANTA Board: Sharky Swaddling, Puppy Unloved, Waterlogged Writings, Nega-Sacabambapsis and Scylla. The first two will see Gohan's inner Disney princess on full display, and I'm kind of leaning towards him taming and adopting the pup. This boy befriends dinosaurs, a dog is nothing to him.

As for the others, he'd be interested in the books, though he might potentially be more of a hindrance than a help there, since super strength is probably not the best for fragile books. The Nega-Sacabambapsis sounds like something that'd be easily dealt with in a fight.

As for the Scylla, I'd actually potentially be interested in conflict there, if someone was looking to hunt it, as Gohan would actually befriend the Scylla and protect it.
Event: will they be called the Arehthans or Leviateis? Lae out here reusing content harder than Square-Enix I haven't decided what I'd like to do on the event log, but I'm definitely intrigued by it and will want to hit people up!

CR Dreams: I want Gohan to get more friends, for sure! His crew lost a sizable chunk of its members and so that hit his CR pool pretty harshly, so it's time to rebuild. Who wants an awkward, loveable nerd in their life?

I'd also love to get him into some conflict though, because that is where Gohan's character truly flourishes and grows, much to his chagrin. Whether it's someone who's willing to challenge his ways of thinking, or someone outright willing to be an antagonist towards this child that he'd have to one day face up against.

wolfwood is an assassin cult baby who was genetically engineered to be a killing machine YOUR REGULAR WAYWARD UNDERTAKER who definitely wasn't adopted by a cult and definitely wasn't experimented on as an orphan child. don't worry about the giant cross, it's seriously just a cross!! and he can't do his job without it.

wolfwood is a standoffish person with a nicotine addiction and comes from a desert planet and has never seen the ocean before. or snow. or rain. or really a lot if things you all take for granted. don't let his brooding demeanor trick you, he can be quite the silly guy with a soft heart when people really get to him. he has an especially tender spot for kids.

Abilities: not sure about the tattoo BUT he has enhanced strength, speed and regeneration after he takes a special serum that was given to him.. he can get shot a whole lot and survive it! right now he only has six of those on his person, however..
