ACTIVITY CHECK: October 2024

Ahoy, mateys! Here be the monthly Activity Check!

In the Extra Notes section, please note the following, as well as anything else worth noting:

• Any ghosts that were dealt with/helped during Ghoul's Moon
  
• Any further discoveries made regarding the crystal infection and/or rescued victims
  
• Underwater ruins hidden chamber findings
  
• Whale helpers results

Please check our Activity Check guidelines on our Game Info page for complete details, but here is the quick list of what you need to know:

» Only threads dated from October 1st through October 31st count towards the month's activity. (With the exception of certain backdated threads, read the linked AC guidelines for more details.)

» Activity requires one thread of at least 5 comments. The comment count is from your character.

» Any thread counts, including those made within your own entries and subthreads within your own toplevels. Individual entry posts do not count, only the threads within the posts. TDM threads with non-game characters will count.

» Continuation threads are considered as part of the previous thread so they count as one thread not two. For the sake of ease, we would like the two threads linked together.

» You are exempt from any checks for hiatuses that last for over 21 days. Anything less and you'll still need to submit your AC unless there are other circumstances.

» Because we are a capped game, there is no strike system. If you do not make the AC requirements, you will be cut.

» Bonus AC points: All extra non-quest threads not used for AC will be worth 2 extra points that can be used for reward redemption. Please check our Rewards page for more details.

There will be no warnings. All submissions are due Thursday, October 31st 11:59PM US Eastern.

EXTRA FIELDS: This is not required and completely optional, but included in the submission form are two optional fields: Extra and MANTA Board Posting.

For the Extra field, this is just a space for players to note anything that occurred in their threads that they think might be fun for us to know. So if something particularly interesting happened (for example: discovering a new creature or location, an old artifact, or perhaps a character has stolen something), we highly encourage players to jot them down! Who knows, we may even find a use for it… In addition, we may ask players to submit certain activity related to an event.

You may also submit MANTA board requests to be included in the upcoming board. We will try to add them immediately, otherwise we'll save them for the next Board or a time we deem fitting. If you don't have one in mind at the time of AC, you can post it later to the upcoming Captain's Log announcement.

Extra: Disguise & Deliverance - Alhaitham and Kaveh found a coded ledger that contained information about the people (and animals) they were testing the crystallization process on. They also eventually went back and managed to rescue a handful of people, plus one (1) doggo.

Extra: Disguise and Deliverance: a month late but Kaveh and Alhaitham infiltrated the office and discovered a ledger of incoming victims, which was turned over to the Paladins. They also went back in to rescue the victims there, presumably.

Whales wise, Kaveh will be passing the information he learned from the whales to other parties. have fun on death island, kids!

Kaveh also assisted in finding the ghost kittens and removing them from Ranma's person.

Extra:
- Emet-Selch and Darin investigated the underwater ruins and successfully created the crab constellation using the mirrors.
- Emet-Selch discovered the whirlpool constellation pattern on his own later.

- The first magitek engine ship is going through its final adjustments before its maiden launch at the start of November!!! Emet-Selch will be offering it to RAY, the free merchants guild, at an inviting discount (he hopes they will commission more ships to facilitate faster and more efficient trade). If they don't accept then, uhh, it will probably...go up for auction... (but he really hopes they do accept it).

With the success of that first ship, the mods can basically just assume that the technology will spread however they see fit! The only caveat is that Emet-Selch refuses to have the Adamantine Forge build magitek ships with armaments in them...but of course that won't stop people from adding things to the ships themselves.

Sherlock Holmes is looking for someone to help combine a number of enchantments or charms from other items onto one or two for ease of transport when visiting other leviathans. Contact for additional details. The additional details are that Sherlock wants to be able to sleep when he has to stay somewhere besides his apartment, but he would need to bring 4-6 plushies (two of which are large) and a bunch of winged horse feathers. Transferring/copying/combining whatever makes it easier to sleep into one or two items would help make things manageable for a trip. (Stick them onto his Jo(h)n plushie(s) because the plush collection has become A Thing in this game, the reason he can even sleep, and Sherlock cannot escape it and seem cool.)

Recounting the various ghost activities:
- Was harassed and terrorized by ghost kitties, needing the assistance of several others (Blitzø, Kaveh, Katsuki) to pry them off him. Sidestep also threw cats on him as revenge for last month's incident, making him open up about cat trauma. He regrets doing so.
- Got possessed by a deranged ghost and tried to kill Sherlock.
- Went on a date with Izuku, whom was possessed by a yandere ghost.
- Fought the seamstress' "owner"'s ghost with Beat, and the mermaids with Claude and Yor.
- Saved Reno from the Pumpkaboo's influence via pumpkin to the face.

Miscellaneous mentions include:
- Dealing with Zelda when she was white girl wasted™.
- Having his love life exposed to Reno thanks to the flowers.
- Glitterbombed Ganondorf's ship for the sake of payback.

• Whale quest. Cid and Benedikta were led by whales to an island that had a whole operation in killing and harvesting the whales for various parts, particularly their oil and something similar to ambergis. It's a substance that will be found to be use in high end luxury perfumes and scented oils, and could be used for something if mods want 👀 Anyway they also got ledgers and records that members of the Hideaway crew will decode that should have some names and locations relevant to all this. And then Cid and Benedikta burned down the island so that the poor whales can rest in peace.
