Ahoy, mateys! Here be the monthly Activity Check!

Don't forget that we have a special thread tracker spreadsheet that is also great for easy point counting. It even comes with a script to submit both AC and rewards forms with just a click of a button! Wow!!! Be sure to check it out if you haven't already. It's been updated to include the extra and MANTA board fields as well.

Please check our Activity Check guidelines on our Game Info page for complete details, but here is the quick list of what you need to know:

» Only threads dated from September 1st through September 30th count towards the month's activity. (With the exception of certain backdated threads, read the linked AC guidelines for more details.)

» Activity requires one thread of at least 5 comments. The comment count is from your character.

» Any thread counts, including those made within your own entries and subthreads within your own toplevels. Individual entry posts do not count, only the threads within the posts. TDM threads with non-game characters will count.

» Continuation threads are considered as part of the previous thread so they count as one thread not two. For the sake of ease, we would like the two threads linked together.

» You are exempt from any checks for hiatuses that last for over 21 days. Anything less and you'll still need to submit your AC unless there are other circumstances.

» Because we are a capped game, there is no strike system. If you do not make the AC requirements, you will be cut.

» Bonus AC points: All extra non-quest threads not used for AC will be worth 2 extra points that can be used for reward redemption. Please check our Rewards page for more details.

There will be no warnings. All submissions are due Saturday, September 30 11:59PM US Eastern.

EXTRA FIELDS: This is not required and completely optional, but included in the submission form are two optional fields: Extra and MANTA Board Posting.

For the Extra field, this is just a space for players to note anything that occurred in their threads that they think might be fun for us to know. So if something particularly interesting happened (for example: discovering a new creature or location, an old artifact, or perhaps a character has stolen something), we highly encourage players to jot them down! Who knows, we may even find a use for it… In addition, we may ask players to submit certain activity related to an event.

You may also submit MANTA board requests to be included in the upcoming board. We will try to add them immediately, otherwise we'll save them for the next Board or a time we deem fitting. If you don't have one in mind at the time of AC, you can post it later to the upcoming Captain's Log announcement.

This might be a dumb question, but when you say new discoveries, is that something a mod hands out or are you suggesting we can all just make things up to put in the world? I mean I have made up a few locations for the sake of threads. Nothing crazy. But in the future it would be good to know since maybe people will write with the intention of creating something in mind, should it be the case that is what you meant by discoveries.

Not at all!

The mods won't be handing out any sort of creations besides the ones that we write up ourselves. Players are free to make up their own creatures/locations/etc. (as long as they are within reason!) and can note them down in the extras section if they feel like it, though it's not necessary.

Extra: (links marked with * become nsfw!) Oh boy, what didn't Astarion get up to this month? He did a lot of theft*; started a cross-stitching hobby with nsfw cross-stitches*, opened a delivery box with a hell-beast in it, engaged in some interesting bottle letters (yall know these), drank blood from a person*, made a lot of enjoyable memories thanks to the (extremely blessed, 10/10) fancy clothing prompt*, and (technically last month) pilfered a very cool, probably not magic (?) dagger.

MANTA Board Posting: I'm still interested in the "Vial of Liquid Life" for definitely wholesome reasons. I'm also hoping for spooky season things for October so I can't wait to see what yall come up with but in more like general-group activities my suggestion this month would be a quest where someone is asking for proof of mermaids but after everyone gets out to the alleged location to snap some sweet shellphone pics it is manatees. I love manatees! And also I love when characters do pointless quests.

Extra: Xenk caught several pickpockets and fought thieving Corsairs who were trying to steal artifacts from the castle ruins. While his success rate wasn't 100%, he was an exemplary Paladin this month! He was also voted "most likely to wake everyone up at 6am" aboard the Royal Fortune, a title that he is unaware of, but would be honored to receive. (It is probably not a compliment.) He fulfilled a lot of quests and was generally a perfect, helpful guy as is his usual. Has he been seen consorting with Corsairs? Absolutely. Don't worry about it. Oh yeah and Xenk snuck into Nogard for a booty call, but don't worry about it.

MANTA Board Posting: I think there should be a Manta board quest about the cool gondolas in Elah (it just seems like a very fun concept,) or maybe a recon mission for Paladins to sneak into Nogard (and vice versa) for information gathering. No reason for that one, just asking for a friend.

Extra: Velvet helped to release a tiny dragon upon the world, surely this won't come back to bite them all in the ass. Openly fought a Paladin over an artifact, blood was spilled - nobody died. This time. She also decided to nom some of the giant shrimps - therion style.

Extra: Turo has already jumped right on in to researching what is already written down or can be told around the archives, along with studying the various plants and wildlife to get an understanding of life. Has likely asked a lot of those amongst the Paladin order that have been here for a while a lot of questions on top of that. Taking notes and journeying out as he can, while trying to see how magic may have connections to so much around.

Has made a few seahorse friends while helping tame the younger ones while studying them, along with investigating the crystal trees. Turo very much wants to find ways to keep these natural wonders while still using them to create ways to make life better.

All in all, the man is already showing how much he does want to help further knowledge and conserve nature.

Extra: There may or may not be some whispering rumors starting up about a skull-faced ghostly figure around Nogard- y'all want a 'los espookys' cryptid? Reaper has been skulking about in that wraith form of his to explore, and is not above using it to essentially jumpscare people as he does this.

Otherwise he has been busy setting himself some groundwork to get the start of a foothold while here. Better to prepare incase someone he knows arrives, for better or worse.
