CR WORKSHIP: MAY 2024

Our ~~CR Meme~~ CR Workship is where players can drop all the cool info for their characters and try to plot with others to continue existing or create new CR. Be sure to look over the MANTA Board as well as current events if you'd like to include them in your post.

We also include a designated toplevel for Crew Recruitment where players can make OOC ad posts for others to either join or request to join or make a crew. This is all for OOC coordination, so you'll have to figure out how it works ICly.

If you have multiple characters, make an individual toplevel for yourself with your player info and comment to it with each character separately.

Karlach has been here before, but her memories are a little fuzzy of her time before.

Right, so, Karlach is a tiefling barbarian woman who got forcefully conscripted into a war in the Hells. It was a pretty bad time and she got experimented on, resulting in her heart getting replaced with an infernal machine. The machine runs INCREDIBLY HOT, meaning she's afflicted with a permanent status effect of being on fucking fire. It's also going to eventually run too hot and kill her, but let's not worry about that!

At least, she can be used to light campfires or roast things over.

Despite her experiences, Karlach is an excitable golden retriever sort of individual. Her heart is big and open and she's looking to make connections. Life's short and that's why you gotta live it!

Abilities: As you'd imagine, she's strong and carries a big axe. Barbarians are fairly straightforward, but Karlach is also a wildheart so she has an additional bonus of being able to speak with animals and the ability to keep her footing on almost any terrain. Plus the obvious fact that she's on fire.

General:
Admittedly, I got a wild hair about re-apping this character at the 11th hour, so I have done basically no planning! I just ran in before the door closed.

I plan to just TL and throw her out there and let the winds take us where they may.

But I would love to reconnect with previous CR and help her get reestablished.

But if we're really talking dreams, I want one day for her to have a romance and have to struggle with being forced to take things slow because of her difficulties of being touched.

Hi! I would love to throw Daqiang at Karlach again. He won't be quite as obnoxious this time around! He's had a lot of growth since they last met. Will still be curious about the hellfire, but won't treat it like it should belong to him just because he's the lone controller of it in his world anymore. Might be a better place to test the waters of CR for both of them?

Oh, absolutely!

Honestly Karlach is pretty forgiving (it's that dog energy), so it wouldn't take much to move past their previous encounter.

I'll poke around your top level once it's up (haven't checked yet) and see what looks fun!

I actually played Ketheric originally here upon my initial arrival so THAT would have been really interesting but swapped him out for this other garbage human being. Haha

I'm only like idk 60 chapters into chainsaw man, but I love Denji. Unfortunately, he'll probably get along with Karlach fabulously.

I think their chaotic mojos will mesh swimmingly and would love to throw Denji at her! May it be bashing some heads in a bounty or some other adventure. :3 But YEAH they will definitely get along better than the former chosen of Myrkul.

I've never played BG3, but my bestie loves Karlach a lot so I've learned a lil about her from Canon osmosis.

Although if he's too much of a shithead, they might not get along too well but that's fun too.

They're mostly a shithead in the sense that they're mentally and physically early 30s but chronologically like, 18 and that's where their emotional maturity is at too. Also they're a liar and a thief.

In a sense, yes!! Her lore/background is very steeped in Spelljammer stuff which is.. wobbly hand... kinda everywhere?? But her human dad is from Waterdeep so at the very least she's visited there a bit :'D

This guy is an angel, but he is a comically bad one. He's less about meddling with mortal lives and more about eating sushi and getting manicures. Plus running a glorified knickknack and book museum that he pretends is a shop because he thinks it would be "unsporting" to fully refuse to let anyone buy anything from him.

He's a weird and funny guy who didn't wanna do his god-given job.

Abilities: INFO HERE W/ ATTACHED PERMISSIONS REQUEST. The tl;dr is that he's capable of almost anything, but will either only use miracles/magic for the sake of his own whims/convenience or forget that he can entirely. His abilities make him sound like he's useful, but he's not. Please understand, sometimes he is actively a hindrance.

Alright, so— The main thing that is going to be a pressing concern for him at the moment is that A.) Crowley has vamoosed and B.) he has discovered that his magic/ability to miracle can futz out. He was a lot more chill with the situation when the demon was around and he thought that he still do whatever he wanted (except leave), but now he's kind of upset.

He's probably going to try asking around to see if anyone has spotted his friend anywhere.

CR Dreams: Friends! Particularly from other supernatural/celestial beings, but also just in general. He could also use someone to eventually argue with. Or get him involved in things he wouldn't particularly seek out on his own. Or some unfortunate youngster could get stuck with a new strange uncle.
