Related to digging for information on the Sleeping Curse for Dreams Submerged in Drowning Shadows:
Rem found information in some tattered books on Avaleci about a black disc that could dispell sleeping demons. And there is a powerful smelling salt in the sulfur fields of Avaleci. The sleeping curse didn't begin to show up until the leviathans rolled up to the island. The strange altar with the horse-beast that seems to have issues with it, is clearly bad magic and it's location is in the sulfur fields (and the horse-beast is the 'guardian' of the sulfur fields). Potentially meaning the sulfur fields act as a natural protection against the curse backlashing against the caster with the nightmares itself, though not preventing them from being turned into the horse-beast (the Nightmare).
Would it be safe to have a relatively high intelligence character put 2 and 2 together and get that perhaps whatever ritual was conducted at that altar is related to the curse and it may have to be undone by some sort of ritual using the black disc at that altar? Possibly, 'unmaking' the Nightmare that now inhabits the sulfur fields where it's both protected from the drowning dreams part of the curse, but otherwise trapped in the fields?
And if it is safe for said character to come to these assumptions, can said character find anything related to the black disc, a counter ritual, or other similar curses in the black-market of Nogard after several weeks of searching and researching other curses and curse breaking rituals native to Escordvi?
I would like for Daqiang to potentially find the counter-curse or come up with a counter-curse ritual to try out by mid-february when his smelling salts stop being effective and he starts getting the drowning nightmares that he barely survives. And also information on where to possibly find the black disc.
