1) It is not possible to drain energy from the tombstone. Instead, a kind of repel-like counter feedback would be experienced instead, sending the user back a bit.
2) It does contain something inside (oooh aaah) that could be assumed to be a soul, but it cannot be taken out. Any attempt to draw it out will cause the person to go mad and behaved erratic and aggressive towards those around them until they are healed with holy/light magic. Fortunately there is an abundance of them around so can always use an NPC in the research facility to help with that if you can't plot with another player for it!
3) It is a rock with magical cursed properties, though it'll take some research to figure out what exactly.
