So I watched the LA version of OP too many times and came home with a Luffy muse. He is a young man who aspires to be King of the Pirates, with his own crew. He ate a Devil Fruit that gave him special abilities, specifically the Gum Gum Devil Fruit that allows him to stretch his body to extreme lengths - like rubber. In exchange, the sea water became his weakness.
Luffy gumgumcaptain is a kind-hearted pirate, who is willing to help people in need and punish those who do wrong. He doesn't let anything stand in the way of his dream, and encourages others to find theirs as well.
Of course, he'd be a Corsair here and would want to get his own ship and crew to be captain over. I'd take him from the end of Season 1... and have almost no knowledge of the manga/anime...

Preferred Armada: Corsair
Oooor I could always bring back this bundle of ninja energy and make her a Corsair since... you know, she did try to assassinate Rufus. I've been tempted before.
She would be coming in with a Rebirth canon point this time, to be decided on when exactly, with her memories of the last time she was around. Here to harass her canon mates, and to summon old man Ramuh, because I love being a menace to Lae. (Maybe she'll try to build a stash with summon materia rewards now that we've got more fun ones.)
But for those that don't know her: Yuffie materiahunting is an energetic teen ninja who has grandiose plans to take down Shinra after what they did to her home of Wutai. She loves materia and treasure - playing a small role in Zack's story before becoming more of a main character in the game. Yuffie is dramatic and a bit on the cocky side, yet also is somewhat aware of her limitations - but can also be a bit reckless at times like the teenager she is.
Kagome Higurashi from Inuyasha is a tentative third option as a Paladin, but I have no journal or icons for her at this time.
