Cid will develop several simple devices that will continuously pulse light or lightning magic that can be attached directly to the wall and be calibrated so that it can recreate the light once the goop starts reforming again. They can also be chained just like how magic users are chaining their spells. This will allow scholars to access the wall without everyone having to exhaust themselves through magic.

Direct magic use would still be beneficial as Cid's device will have something like a low to medium power to it as well as limited in area. Thus magic users will be able to use more powerful magics to uncover larger spaces more quickly. The device is more for longer stretches of study and, again, as a backup for when there are not enough magic users and give them a break lmfao.
