Character: Darin Altway Canon: Original Character Armada: Corsair
About: Darin is modeled after your standard JRPG/shounen series protagonist. He's loud and boisterous, tends to be easily approachable even if he makes a bad impression at first, and has a heart of gold beneath all of those rough and hot-blooded edges. He's got a lot of hang-ups about the powers he was born with, specifically because he's been treated like a monster his whole life and is prophesied to bring about the end of his world. As such, he's staunchly against getting involved in things bigger than himself but that never seems to work out thanks to the aforementioned 'heart of gold.' He's also a master blacksmith and is constantly on the lookout for work! Abilities: Darin's got super strength and the ability to heal at an accelerated rate. That doesn't make him indestructible though; the fact that he's spent his life hiding his powers means his body hasn't acclimated to them. Too strong of a punch could break his own arm, etc. As far as skills, he's a proficient fighter but his real skill lies in his smithing and ability to engineer and create.
PLANS
General: Right now, I'm still trying to have Darin gather CR. His objectives right now are raising money for a forge of his own and he's considering looking for someone to train him. His fight with Garuda made him realize he's a lot weaker than he thought he was and he could use someone he can trust to start learning about his powers through some trial and error. MANTA Board: Darin has inserted himself into the Adamantine Forge project and tagged into Emet-Selch's mingle log! As for other quests, he'd love to help make that moogle a dragon costume and I'd love for him to get involved in the special investigation. I also plan to have him get haunted in the player plot by the ghost of his supposedly dead brother. The first night it will be a harmless child ghost playing pranks because that's always the most unnerving. The second night, however, Darin will need help as the spirit will morph into an adult and attack Darin. Event: Let's face it, Darin's going to want to check out that Abyss. I don't have any concrete plans but if anyone wants an excitable shounen protag tagging along with them on their excursion, I'd love to throw him your way. CR Dreams: I am not picky about CR at all so long as it's something that's both mutually beneficial for both players. I don't mind negative CR so long as both players are having fun with it. Darin's only been in game for a couple of months so I welcome anything.
