Silly question. Does the deceased character have to be permanently dead in their canon to show up? I.e. the haunting spirit for Ranma I was planning is of a phoenix person who, being a phoenix, got reincarnated as a baby after Ranma killed him. Since these spirits are merely facsimiles visions, would he still show as the form he died in to torment Ranma, or nah. Just wanted to be absolutely sure.
